You can get an extra floor if you go alt-path from cellar/basement 2 though. cellar/basement 2 normally goes directly to caves/catacombs 1, you can squeeze an alt path floor between that, and also that is the alt path floor where you can get an extra item as the lost. I never do that but it would be a way to get more.

Hey Sin, i’ve been playing Isaac since rebirth came out and i’ve honestly gotten tired of it lately but your eden streaks really have gotten me to look at the game in a different way and i’ve started trying for a streak myself (im not as good as you are lol). Thank you for getting me back into my favorite indie of all time :)
If you could add another trinket to the game what would it be? Personally I would love a large prism desk weight, it would act similar to angelic prism and ice cube baby.the prism starts in the room already on an enemy and hinders their movement towards isaac (or in the corner of the room if there are no enemies.) Isaac can push the weight onto another enemy after the first one dies, slowing the enemies movement speed (holding them in place with BBF) and Isaac can shoot through that enemy and the shots become multiplied, split into multicolored shots like angelic prism shots. The affected mob has a chance to turn into a rainbow colored mob champion when first coming into contact with the weighted prism, this effect can take place with each mob being held down by the prism. 🎉

Personally I only go the the alt path if I’m the lost or tainted lost, because every 2nd floor gives a boss challenge room when you get one allowing more power in the run. That being complete two floors do alt path one floor repeat until depths 2 and continue whichever path I wanted to go down to complete a run. The only alt floor I can see being worth while for non lost characters is 2nd floor dross or downpour to use flight for extra consumables and maybe an extra boss item but doing that will take a lot of time likely cutting you off from boss rush.
yum heart + car battery + wafer + habit it's stupid, it's the ultimate expression of "no skill required" and that's why I love it. It makes you factually invincible as long as you have at least 3 heart containers as you will get 2 red hearts for every 2 hearts of damage you take.
I think one way to make the door to mausoleum/gehenna less dumb ist to make it so, that you can either pay health to open it OR use the throwable knife to open it for free. This way you would have an incentive to get the knife pieces and then use it to access the harder, but also more rewarding version of chapter 3 and/or progress down the route to mother - while also keeping the door itself as is.

I was tapping the temperance machine and the slot machine at the same time. I was tapping the slot machine and it exploded and gave me the dollar. At that moment I exclaimed “Shoop da whoop” as I tapped the temperance machine and it paid out with a dime which is 10% more than a dollar. It was a single result but I am now convinced.
