- In this video, I'm introducing practical spirituality - a way of living that is based in the real world.
If you're looking for ways to improve your life and destress, then this video is for you! I'll share with you ideas on how to live a more practical and spiritual life, based on real-world principles. This video is a great introduction to practical spirituality, and I hope you'll find it helpful!
This video highlights the dopamine functions in life. In practical spirituality it's wise to understand the biological functions of the "animal" part of us and use it to our advantage in a healthy way.
We are both animal and spirit, so to deny one or the other is living in a black and white ego illusion. We can build awareness and use these functions synergistically.
There is good dopamine which comes through exercise, meditation, learning, accomplishing goals, discipline, connection, having fun, laughing, love, living according to your values, spiritual practices, sunshine, creating, building, relaxation and biological drives being fulfilled in a "REAL" way.
and.....
There is less good dopamine that comes through getting hits of validation, win-lose situations, status, substances, porn, tv, internet, bad food, anger, taking value from people, arguing, judging, distractions, etc..
It's hard to say what you need at a given time and i'm not trying to condemn anything who has vices. WE ALL HAVE THEM! But im aiming to bring awareness to this situation, which has become pretty complicated in the modern world.
At the end of the video I share a really motivational exercise that can utilize dopamine and pleasure to help you with your day to day life. This exercise can supercharge your discipline and results (doing the mundane) and help you to move towards your goals faster and easier.
thanks for your perspective.

Do you have a list of other notable or useful books you would recommend, in regards to mindset, fulfilment, out of comfort zones, etc?
A really influential book for me is levels of energy by Frederick Dodson, and the winner effect by Ian Robertson, some other great authors, to look into would be Roy, Masters, and anything by Dodson
