Still the best gay show ever created. It's the Sopranos of gay tv. It was so real. Justin is the most accurate depiction of a gay teenager I've ever seen. When I watched it, I was about 15 and idolized Brian Kinney and sort of grew up to be like him. I just turned 29 and it was trippy as hell watching season 1 and how everybody would rip on him for being 29, and I didn't remember that shit at all because I was originally living the show through the eyes of Justin.
@@damiendansson I know. The way it went from a beautiful dance to sheer tragedy in the blink of an eye. Happy tears one moment and then horror the next. I almost wish I never saw it.
@@DavidLS1 I feel you. It hit close to me personally as something very similar happened to me leaving my first "prom" here in Iceland at 17yo after coming out. Two guys attacked me when I was leaving the prom without my boyfriend because I had to get my car and it was snowing. It was traumatizing but thankfully I was super fit and could fight them off me in the end. But similar moment. From bliss to blood and tragedy in split seconds. I couldn't believe it when I then saw it on the show two years later.
Same! Then, I saw it wasn't an official thing from Showtime, but a fan thing and my heart sank! I'd love to see a new season! I love that show so much!
I remember watching this as a teenager, while struggling to accept my sexuality. When this show first came out, it was a different world. So many queer people grow up not seeing any representation on TV or other media. I watched this show, and it made me realise I'm not alone in the world. What this show did was groundbreaking, and to see this absolute classic comeback, even for just a short special, would be wonderful.
Lucky you, I was 23 I think when found it (in 2014 I believe), binge in 3 days as was nothing to limit me on episodes, wish was limited so watch it same rate as first release
I would die a happy person if this ever happened. I was crying my damn eyes out, when Brian and Justin didn't get the ending we all wanted so desperately. I was 15 years old when I discovered QaF in 2011, a long time after the show had ended, but it touches me until this day. I hope the day will come when we really are going to see a reunion.
I was 27 when this came out in 2000. I related with so much of this. All I wanted to do was move to NYC and rave like Brian & the boys. Now I'm 51 & things have slowed down abit but I'm soooo happy to see the gang again. And they've aged so well! Very happy I just found this! Thank you.
I would love this!! Even twenty years later, when I was just a young adult, me and my partner would watch the series each week when it was on and loved it. I even bought the whole series years ago, and still all these years later, still watch this again and again, almost on a daily bases!
OMG!! PLEASE BRING THIS BACK!!!! There was NO BETTER show featuring the gay community and all we deal with! I'm soooo excited to even think this is a possibility!!!
20 years gone by, in a flash. Every once in a while I’ll watch an old clip and get nostalgic but these days I need a reboot with the original cast. Love this. This show was my life, I identified with Brian’s character like a mirror. I think we all identified with someone in this show in some way. Now at 45, I wonder where it all goes from here. No longer a twink or twunk but still so young at heart.
I am 33 now, and have always identified with Debbie. As a bisexual woman I am a huge supporter of the LGBTQ community and have always adored Debbie's way of living and letting others live, and also nurturing those who needed it the most. For me she was, and still is an icon. 🥰
Now I am only 17, the same age with Justin then. Several days before I met a video and I was fascinated by the loving couple, who I later knew they are B&J, and I soon fell in love with the whole series. I am so excited to find that after all the time, there are still some of my friends and my physics teacher who have watched it and love it, beacause I thought maybe just few people have seen it in China, and time passed so quick to let people forget there was a great TV play. I cried a little bit. I would cut off my left arm for a reunification, even if the rest of the actors didn't come back. Seeing Gale and Randy reprise Justin and Brian and seeing where their story ends up, preferably back together after all these years, it would revive my soul.
This makes me miss my friend Karl who introduced me to this show. He also helped me with coming out, which happened to take place during season three. This is why QAF has so much value in my life! Karl passed away three years ago, and I miss him every day.
A movie, a season, i don't care which one, as long as there's a final closure for their love story, not just left us wondering what's the future might bring..
I agree on the ending but I also think they kind of ended it in a “good way” too. I mean we all knew the characters still had a lot of growing up to do and there was no way they could wrap that up in the 5th season
This was my husband and my favorite show when it was on. Did everyone read that “my HUSBAND”. We’ve been together 31 years next month. We were thrilled to get married in 2014. Just the 2 of us in the judges chambers. We feel so lucky to have been given the gift of marriage. When “Queer as Folk” was on, we weren’t sure if we’d ever get to be married. We watched every Sunday. I remember during the first season, the cast was making an appearance at a local book store. We thought maybe 100 people would show up. It was standing room only in the 2 story building. It would be nice to see what everyone has been up to. We’ve missed them.
I really hope this project comes to fruition. I still watch the original Showtime series on cable. Not only getting Brian and Justin together and navigating the long time apart to see if they can make it work, but storylines with the other characters as well. Did Ted and Blake find true love? Did Hunter marry and give Michael and Ben grandchildren? Did Lins and Mel ever come home? If the actors are willing they could do another five years easily. When a show is THIS good, we the viewing public get invested with the characters. They are our friends, and the end of the original left a lot of questions and a lot of possibilities. It’s time for some happy endings.
this show was heaven sent for so many gay people, growing who were taught we were heteros, we didnt even knew we existed, but then this show came and helped us all. eternally grateful to everyone involved in this phenomenon!
This show has been the foundation to my life, I miss this cast so much, I am glad they are still friends and hope that they come back with a reboot of ORIGINAL cast. I know they have created a new version with a new cast coming soon, but I hope they make another version with the OG’s. Love and miss them so much
OH HELL YEAH! I have the series on DVD, and it's repeating now at night on Cable TV. I would love to see Brian and Justin together permanently...20 years later. BRING IT!!! A movie with the entire cast would be great, or a mini series. New people playing the characters? NO THANK YOU!
I love this show, one of the best I've ever seen! And it's an incredible idea! Just one more season, let's face it, we've all been hanging on for 20 years! Let's go! That would be an absolutely amazing thing 👑💯♥️🌈
Never be another show like QAF again, once in a lifetime. This will never happen, the actor's would all want to do it. For the fans, a movie that wrapped up all the storylines with a happy ending for Brian and Justin would finally be the true storyline.
NGL…got a little choked up seeing this and the flashback memories of just coming out of the closet while QAF was on. This show had such a tremendous impact on my life.
OMG! I’m so glad I found this breathtaking, passionate, and unforgettable series. I never thought it would exist just like that, and there it is. Just when I came out as I was 18 at the time and it was very important to me. It made us feel good and that we’re not alone and there’s purpose and we can fight for what we believe in. If it came back it would still amaze me. Thank you so much.
I miss the show. It was so good when it came out in 1999. I really want this show to come back. I'm such a big fan 😉. I would love to see the original cast as well. Come on bring back our beloved show Queer As Folk 😁👍🤩💕❤️.

I love almost any lgbtq focused show on principle alone but if I’m being honest, at least the first season (I’m suuuper tardy to the party and I’m only 3/4 of the way through season 1), the writing, dialogue, and acting seem a little cheesy and forced a lot of the time! @@rachelw821 Hang in there. The show was originally contracted for 1 season, with an option each year to do another season, up to 5 seasons. My heart aches to see this happy ending, for I am at heart a complete romantic who dearly believes in Happy Ever After. Please, please, make this come true.
Apparently, there was some interest at Showtime a few years ago to revive QAF that would have included some or all of the original cast. Ron Cowen and Daniel Lipman (the Executive Producers of QAF) said the issue rests with the rights. Although Showtime owns the show, they no longer have the rights to produce new QAF content. The show was based on the British version created by Russell T. Davis which aired on Channel 4 in the UK. Back in 1999, a deal with reached with Davis and Channel 4 giving Showtime the rights to produce a US version but it was a time limited deal (probably 10 years). When the terms of that deal expired, the rights to produce QAF in the US defaulted back to Davis who wasn't interested in selling the rights back to Showtime. Now, we know that Davis was already planning a new version of the show. This is one of the reasons Showtime revived The L Word over QAF. The L Word is an original Showtime production and they are the exclusive rights holders.
I've only recently done a re-watch of this series and God, I love this show so much. I really hope that they do a sixth season. The writers did an awesome job during the original run with the way they gave most of the characters story arcs. I loved seeing how much Brian changed over the five seasons and wow, Ted really grew on me as a character. I really hope Netflix brings this back! Thank you for this beautifully made video!

I wish I could watch sequel of QAF with the original cast. I don't care their age. It doesn't matter just want to see them together again. I'm a new fan of QAF in 2022.
Did not have cable at the time QAF originally aired but had certainly heard about it. Think it was 2008, watching on logo, first time, watched marathon all night.
I loved this show it is so underrated . I would love a new season , movie or limited series just to have some closure and if certain couples stayed together and how the original characters fit within the modern world of Marriage equality , dating apps , social media etc . Gus and RJ would be teenagers too now
I am so so so very happy happy for the next season!!! I've had watch 5 seasons for 2x already and still can't get enough of Brian and Justin, so loved the way they kissed especially Brian!!!
I Loved this series, teenager in the 90’s and having this show to watch was amazing. I still have my dvd box set of the series. 80’s 90’s best of times for me growing up finding my gay inner me. The gay bars and music were still alive unlike today’s world. Thank you, creator of QAF. 2021
Change is relative - and we don't look beyond what tomorrow may hold. Taking a look back at everything that has changed in the world - from rights to cultural diversity and acceptance - if this show came back for a movie or a season, I would be ecstatic! Not just to see how time changed these characters, but how these characters changed each other. You have my vote!
I am still watching in 2022. Pleaseeee give us a movie, series something that gives us finality. Love and miss the entire gang. So glad I grew up with you guy’s. It gave me pride🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈

¿Hay posibilidad de que veamos QAF veinte años después?
In our times of reboots and revivals, a miniseries detailing the lives of Brian and the gang in the 2020s would be a godsend!

Brian looks hotter. How is that possible!? I want this to become real.
I literally came out during this show. My first love was during this show! Groundbreaking is short for what this show represents!

I wish I could watch sequel of QAF with the original cast. I don't care their age. It doesn't matter just want to see them together again. I'm a new fan of QAF in 2022.

Signed! Man, I would give anything if the cast would do something. One of the best gay scripted drama's EVER!
Gus and RJ would be teenagers too now
YES, PLEASE! With one sec i had tears in my eyes, thinking back at the series with all emotions running wild.
I am so so so very happy happy for the next season!!! I've had watch 5 seasons for 2x already and still can't get enough of Brian and Justin, so loved the way they kissed especially Brian!!!

This series needs to come back with the next chapter. I loved the original series; I saw every episode!
I actually started to tear up watching this thinking that a new season was coming! Please make it so!
I watched this show when it first come on. Every season. Love it
I Loved this series, teenager in the 90’s and having this show to watch was amazing.
I love these characters and what they represent.
Falling for grace! Low fidelity! Kiss me, kill me! Photo Op! Such good people!
A sequel would be welcome with the evolution of the characters in today's society !
