I am a sixth generation Oregonian & I grew up going to The Enchanted Forest! I love it so!!! I took 12 friends here for my 41st Birthday (The Enchanted Forest made me a birthday button with my age on it!!).... anyhoo... most of my friends had never been here, and one friend, after crawling down "The Rabbit Hole", exclaimed upon exiting "I just paid $35 to crawl through a dirty hole!!!!!!!!!" It ended up being one of the best days ever, and everyone had the BEST TIME!! & we all vowed to return again!! Thank you for the great video!! I enjoy your watching your travels to all the great roadside attraction!! Thank you!! I really want to make it to the Land of Oz someday!!
Being from Oregon I’ve been there many times. As an amusement park and theme park enthusiast, this one has always been my favorite. Since I was a kid (I’m 41…still my favorite). There were a few cool things there not in this video, but it’s been a few years since since I’ve been there, so maybe those things are no longer there, or just weren’t in the video…but you covered most of it. Interesting fact: this park started with a guy buying just a tiny bit of land for very little money (I think under $1000…definitely under $5,000), and I think the first thing he built was the castle. Then he just kept buying more a little at a time, until he finally had enough to open it to the public, and I believe the park is now owned and operated by his kids or grandkids…it’s still in his family last I heard. Great place that’s never crowded…u can easily do and see everything there in a single day…and it’s not expensive. It’s also just a few miles from Salem, OR (the capitol, and 2nd largest city in Oregon)…and about a 45-minute drive from Portland. Plus it’s right off of the freeway, so you can’t miss it.
You are correct. We were just there about a week ago and saw Roger Tofte the creator from a distance riding around on his scooter. He's 92 and still works on it.
Living close, I've been going every year of my life. Way back they used to stamp your hand with a stamp that said "magic". It was invisible but glowed under the waterfalls black lights in the mine. I miss that.
im 41 and i used to visit that place as a child growing up in portland, A LOT. i must have been there over 20 times. i have such fond memories of it. except one time i went halfway down the rabbit hole and it was dark and i got scared and just stayed there, my mom freaked out, it was a whole ordeal. lol. thank you so much for visiting this place, brings back such memories
The headless person with the talking head was actually the owner/creator/founder of that place. I live in Salem Oregon, 20 min. Drive there. I am 66. Haven't been there since I was 12. Lots of changes and improvements since I was there last. The rabbit hole used to end in a full size key hole. That an adult could stand in. I will take my grandchildren there in October this year. You have inspired me. Thank you, I love your tours. I appreciate you, and the way you show the realities of everything you are exploring.
1) That Haunted House was WAY TOO SCARY relative to the rest of the park! Little kids would be terrified. 2) I love that you aren't hesitant to slide down slides, crawl through passages, and do other activities that a lot of adults wouldn't do!
Jacob, I am so happy that you crawled through the rabbit hole. I took my daughter here about eight years ago and we were both too scared to do it. You made my day. 😊
In the Netherlands we have a enchanted theme park called Efteling, it's like this park, so fun for kids but also adults ❤️ Great respect for going in the rabbit hole!
They must not have had the cute little real live play running. Also I didn’t see the amazing little dancing fountains in the English area. Glad you visited. You rock!
I used to go here when I was little. Lived in Portland my whole life. They almost shut down completely during covid. Luckily we all banned together on a gofundme and they got it back up and running. ❤️
Yes indeed after watching Justin Scarred video, I also made a donation to the Enchanted Forest. Awesome 👏 place to help out with. I’ve never been to Enchanted Forest, but wanted to help.
I happy about that too I have not been there since about 2001 or 2002 but thinking of going since their open season of Spring and Summer just started about 3 days ago.
I'm 50 and crawled down that rabbit hole last month. But I stayed out of the haunted house. That place is horrifying. Maybe because it's so dark? When I was a kid there were real people in there scaring people. Awesome video!! And trackless dark rides are very rare.
I have worked at enchanted forest since I was 16, and have worked at the haunted house many many times. It always KILLS me to see videos of people screaming at the compressed air, because it scared me too as a kid 🤣🤣🤣
Fun Fact the western towns name Toftville is a reference to the last name, of the theme parks creators. Roger Toft and his family! In the Humpty Dumpty statue you may also notice that the last verse of the nursery rhyme is a little off “...BUT, Roger Toft did.” that is actually a reference to an event where the Humpty Dumpty statue actually fell over and broke (destiny? Could be?), and Roger Toft wound up fixing the statue. Correct me if I’m wrong.
This is incredible. Thank you so much. Joy and I have not been able to make our way out to Oregon to film this yet so it made me happy to see you did. It really made my day, I pulled my back out a few weeks ago so while laying on a mattress on my living room floor till it feels better this was the first and my favorite positive thing that helped my moral. Great video, but we love all the rest too!
Saddened you didn’t show footage of the log ride, as it goes through such gorgeous scenery amongst the treetops, and is an absolute favorite of mine in the whole park. By the way, my mother took myself and my cousins there periodically during the Summer months as a child growing up in the 70’s. No rides back then, just slides, but it was still wonderful.
Yet another carpet bagger gem. Love these old style themed parks like the enchanted forest. The one in New York I have very fond memories of as a child
Thank you SOOO much for taking us with you on the path!!! This is truly one of my favorite places in the world and I haven't been able to visit in at least 30 years 😯! You just made a hard day a little better 💯💜💫 do they still have the water feature? There was rainbow water fountains synchronized to music in a kind of rainforest setting. Up towards the front gift shops on the right. I made my mom buy me the cassette 😭💪🏼🤩
Thank you it's so good to see a working enchanted Forest not abandoned with crumbling fairy tale creatures dwindling into dust Forest reclaiming their castles. But I was fortunate enough to see a home movie from the enchanted Forest of Ellicott City Maryland. It brought back so many wonderful childhood memories of my hometown 😻
In the haunted house they have people watching security cameras, they go on the intercom and make specific observations to freak people out, it's pretty funny
I think they can also change the timing of the animatronic triggers, so that no two walkthroughs are quite the same! Last time I went through it, the flying skull was accompanied by insta-bright light and buzzers; it got an expletive out of me!
My family visited this place a few month back and it was so cute. We live at the northern border of WA so it was nice to visit a place that felt like a trippy Disneyland when I needed a Disney fix. Lol. The theming is all so unique and beautifully done. My daughter really loved exploring the caverns and tunnels when we went.
So much fun! You really seemed to enjoy yourself Jacob and I've never heard you laugh so much (out of fear or joy, I'm not sure!) while you rode the Ice Mountain bobsled. Glad you had fun!! ✌🏼
Yes!! I'm so glad you got to go to one of the best roadside attractions. You got to experience the terror that is the haunted house. As an Oregonian I can only be proud of our little Enchanted Forest.
OMG!! I had to stop the video for a minute while I laughed my butt off. The crawling through the tunnel was hilarious!! And then after you reached the opposite end, you can hear children giggling and all I could picture were the kids pointing to you and saying "Mom, why is that man coming out of the ground"!! Thoroughly enjoying this vie as always! 😀🙃
Thanks so much for the video. Grew up going to this park. If you ever have time or care to-- read the history. The creator built a lot of it with concrete. They bought the "Haunted House" and set it on the property. (Good story there.) The music was written by a daughter I believe. This park was such a labor of love. We're so happy to share this gem with you Jacob.
The Enchanted Forest is so awesome! Awesome story of a guy that wanted to start his own attraction and built it by hand from the ground up. The storybook trail is so classic old school and even the rides feel completely unique. Glad you got to experience it - We visited a couple years ago and it was a blast!
What a cue park for the little ones . I hope you never misjudge the size of one of those crawl through places .It would be a disaster .That haunted house was very cool. That was a neat dark ride . The roller coaster was so much fun . You didn't even scream. LOL That place was truly delightful. Keep Safe ❤Keep Well ❤
I went here in the late 70s as a kid and have NEVER forgotten it! I’m so thrilled to see it’s still around. The haunted house was my brother & I’s favorite part.
I remember when I was a young child I went to a Enchanted Forest, I must have been around 4 years old! It was located either in Maryland or Pennsylvania. 🙂
There used to be a similar attraction in Tacoma, Wa called "Never,Neverland". Sadly, after it closed years ago, it fell to neglect and vandalism . Legend has it that some of the display characters were saved in a warehouse and eventually sold.

The gun on the dark ride sounds like an angry squirrel, lol. Enjoyed the ride very much, thanks for taking us along in as many as you can...I just about scream with you on the scary parts!!!
I am so happy you went- definitely my happy place!!! I have a brick in the English village area. You definitely made me giggle seeing you go through the haunted house. Didn’t see the waltzing waters in your video- love that part- hope it still exists!!!!
I just passed by here yesterday traveling from Washington to Oregon. Always wondered about what is was like. Thanks for putting this on your list. Looked like you had fun😀
The Water Fountain Show is the best part of Enchanted Forest!
I am a sixth generation Oregonian & I grew up going to The Enchanted Forest! I love it so!!! Ah yes, that was good.
Loved this place as a child.
Thank you for going.
Ever since i was little i can remember coming here, our family lives like 15 mins away so it was always a summer highlight

@@laurag9203 that’s amazing. I wish I could find that kind of lifetime dedication. This place is beautiful
Hope someday the park could get a expansion
Living close, I've been going every year of my life. Way back they used to stamp your hand with a stamp that said "magic". It was invisible but glowed under the waterfalls black lights in the mine. I miss that.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a true Carpetbagger video without some high pitched screaming at compressed air 😂
Lol come on, don’t pick on the man 🤣 he just doesn’t like compressed air.
It's great to be back. My phone got smashed several months ago. Looking forward to more. Glad to hear that you are doing well. Thanks
Thanks carpetbagger for crawling through that little hole for us, i commend u for that.
Omg the classic metal slide...any old schoolers will remember the burns from them in the sun 🤣😬
im 41 and i used to visit that place as a child growing up in portland, A LOT. i must have been there over 20 times. i have such fond memories of it. except one time i went halfway down the rabbit hole and it was dark and i got scared and just stayed there, my mom freaked out, it was a whole ordeal. lol. thank you so much for visiting this place, brings back such memories

I was fine with the haunted house when I first went to the park back in 1996 when I was 8 yrs old. At that age not a lot of things scared me.
You are correct. This absolutely terrified me as a child in the early 90's. I'm so happy this place is still open.
I love the enchanted forest.😊 Looks like fun.😊
Jacob, I am so happy that you crawled through the rabbit hole. I took my daughter here about eight years ago and we were both too scared to do it. You made my day. 😊
That's surprising the first time I went there in the spring of 1996 as an 8 yr old for my friend Kevin's 8th Birthday that was my favorite part.
I can still crouch walk through the tunnel but maybe that is because I'm shorter than you.
I live pretty close to this park.. This place went through some hard times with the ice storm and the Forest fires.. Glad this place was saved.
thanks for visiting enchanted forest. It was a favorite growing up
‘Arrgggh! Oh, compressed air!’ Is the best exclamation of all time x
You know how Superman's weakness is kryptonite? Jacob's is compressed air. 😆
@@BennyLlama39 😂🤣
I wish I had been in town when you were here, I would have loved to have shown you the Nightmare Factory at Oregon School for the Deaf.
I visited my friend in Albany in February. This was closed back then, but they drove us by the facade. Very glad you got to go!
That was so enjoyable. I wish i was on that ride laughing with you. You are great fun.
I really enjoyed this! Thank you Mr Carpetbagger 😊
I love this place... our family went there back in the 70's!!! ❤❤❤
@32:20, Oh My Gosh! I Love That Choo-Choo Train, it’s so Colorful!😍❤️📺🎶👍🏻🌈🚂
In the Netherlands we have a enchanted theme park called Efteling, it's like this park, so fun for kids but also adults ❤️
Great respect for going in the rabbit hole!
I've seen videos of Efteling - it looks absolutely magical!
I want to go to Efteling one day
wowowowow efteling? THE Efteling the beautiful amusement park where the theme is the strong point?man how I wish I could visit that park
Enchanted forest, I've heard of it, I've never been there, but yet somehow, I feel nostalgic about it.
Lived near the Enchanted Forest 🌳 my whole life but never made it there…. Thank You 😊
They must not have had the cute little real live play running. Also I didn’t see the amazing little dancing fountains in the English area. Glad you visited. You rock!
I'm locked in a pumpkin 🥧 shell Mr. Carpetbagger. 😂 I'm telling you.🤣
I’m locked in a pumpkin shell…of emotion
I used to go here when I was little. Lived in Portland my whole life. They almost shut down completely during covid. Luckily we all banned together on a gofundme and they got it back up and running. ❤️
Yes indeed after watching Justin Scarred video, I also made a donation to the Enchanted Forest. Awesome 👏 place to help out with. I’ve never been to Enchanted Forest, but wanted to help.
Yup I don't live in Oregon , but I donated and got a signed by Roger park map poster...its on my wall framed
I happy about that too I have not been there since about 2001 or 2002 but thinking of going since their open season of Spring and Summer just started about 3 days ago.
I looked up "tuffet" it's a small mound or knoll. I always wondered what it was too. Have a great 4 th of July 🇺🇲❤️🤍💙
Awesome… my favorite place when I was an exchange student in ‘94 in Corvallis !! Go Beavers !!
awesome. exceeded my expectations as well. hope to go some day
Nice place to live
Jacob’s screaming kills me😂😂

Hands down best theme park on Earth. I'm so glad you saw it!!!
YAY AFTER SUGGESTING THIS PLACE ON ALMOST EVERY STREAM, YOU FINALLY WENT!!!! Wish I was there while you were around, I would love a photo!
OMG! You crack me up crawling on your knees. I needed that laugh. Thank you!! This place would be creepy at night.
When I was young my grandma would take us here every summer. The witch scared me until I was at least 15 yrs old!
It would've been nice if the rabbit hole had a gym mat or playground foam on it's floor.
I can't believe you crawled in there either🤣
Fun Fact the western towns name Toftville is a reference to the last name, of the theme parks creators. Roger Toft and his family!

Ive been going to the enchanted forest since i was old enough to walk. It is a great place
I guess the dwarves avoided copyright infringements! Ha ha. Looks like a fun family place.
Snow White is public domain so they could name the seven dwarves whatever they want.
This is incredible. Thank you so much. Joy and I have not been able to make our way out to Oregon to film this yet so it made me happy to see you did. I can't believe jacob went inside rabbit hole 😂. What a funny guy
This is actually the best amusement park I've been here before and I loved it if you don't do the prospecting make another video

Yeah! You made it to my favorite park. I grew up in Salem and my sister and I loved this place as children in the 70’s.
The other children must have thought it was a giant troll climbing out of the rabbit hole when mr carpetbagger was climbing out.
I'm 50 and crawled through it during a visit about week ago. At Enchanted Forest, anything goes. 😁
"We be doin a lil trollin"
What an amazing place, love the coaster ride through the forest, unique! Everything is well taken care of and pretty. That was a solid haunted house!
So much fun! You really seemed to enjoy yourself Jacob and I've never heard you laugh so much (out of fear or joy, I'm not sure!) while you rode the Ice Mountain bobsled. Glad you had fun!! ✌🏼
Hello from the UK, a tuffet is a small stool, often with a padded top for comfort but not necessarily. Love your channel
That western town is Tofteville named for Roger Tofte who built Enchanted Forest. Great video as usual.
The haunted house reminds me of House of Frankenstein in Lake George!
What an awesome park! That haunted house was amazing and 4 bucks! You gave excellent advice for those being held captive in pumpkin shells.
Yes, the haunted house is really good and scary! It’s surprising!
Yes!! I'm so glad you got to go to one of the best roadside attractions. You got to experience the terror that is the haunted house. As an Oregonian I can only be proud of our little Enchanted Forest.
