Did you feel any ghostly vibes at the Old Dutch Church? 👻 Or maybe you spotted the Headless Horseman lurking around? 💀 Let’s hear your take on this HAUNTING church!
As a historical costumer and history nut I encourage you to DRESS UP!!!... It adds ambiance and fun to a historical adventure. If you went to a renfaire and people are dressed in every day clothing it wouldn't be as much fun, same here. I have to agree on modern clothing, it's not fashionable. Bring back the three piece suite!!! It's been fun watching this series of historical churches. Thank you for taking the time to research and documenting the history of these beautiful buildings.
This was really fun! I love US history, so I loved seeing the church building and grounds as they were in the 17th century. Amazing! And I loved hearing the background of this classic ghost story. Well done! Keep them coming! I love your videos!
as far as the "come back look" ...I like vests, but mostly with several buttons that make their way up nearly reaching the bottom of the shirt collar. -a picture is worth a thousand words, but imagine a vest that nearly all you see is the tie knot- I like that!
..."hauntingly" beautiful setting...like the LOOK...& have watched Disneys take on Ichabod Crane since I was a kid...never knew the history; very cool!🌿💚🌿💚🌿
Fine work, David. You may already know that Third Baptist’s pastor in San Francisco is the Reverend Amos Brown, a special friend of President Russell M. Nelson. VP Harris will have some unique insights into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
That was really good! I wish you would have described a little bit about what the service was like. (Maybe you didn't attend.) Having grown up in the LDS church, it's interesting to me to hear about how other churches worship. 😊
I loved this episode! Perfect for Halloween 🎃 Very interesting history also (I too am a history buff). With such an awesome historical church building and organ, I'm surprised the churchgoers don't use it year round. I noticed that one of the graves was marked "Abraham Boyce". Any relation to you? It is spelled differently but oftentimes surname spelling changes over the years.
I wondered that too. There was no HVAC, we had to crack the windows for some air - so must get pretty chilly in winter and no one wants to clean snow tracking in on the wooden floors. So right next to the church was that Abraham Boyce headstone. I had looked into FamilySearch and found I had Dutch ancestry, so thought for sure I had some close relation. After researching, it was very distant.

Dear Friend David, love the tie and vest!

So well done, a lovely little church with great history and wonderful story telling. Just the right touch of spooky music at the beginning too.
I found this very interesting as I have some of these early Dutch ancestors.
My daughter participated in a highschool play of the Legend of Sleepy Hollow. Thank you for sharing about it.

100% agree! I was thinking the same thing!

This was interesting. Thanks for the history. I like your look and would not be sad if it came into fashion. Happy Halloween. :)
This video is really interesting! I like how you tell us so many historical facts in every video. Thanks for a great ending to my Halloween day!⛪
I like the tombstone at 4:51, it's like the logo of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints.
I really should read Washington Irving's original Sleepy Hollow one of these days
Great opening music !🫥
This is a fun take on your 52 churches channel--historic churches. I hope you get more views.

That artwork at 4:51 looks familiar 😉

What a great historial story! Thank you for describing Sleepy Hollow and the true stories around it..
I LOVE that you wore the clothes of the time period you are talking about.hoping you wear the 50’s garb for the Harris video! 😂😂😂
You are funny!
Only when people laugh :)
Fat George was himself German, hence the Hessians. England hasn’t had an English monarch since.
Fascinating!
