As a Latter-Day Saint, you may find it interesting to know that Rev Amos Brown has a close friendship with President Russell M Nelson, and they've spoken very highly of each other.
@@ItShouldBeWrittenyes I was going to say that too. They have become very good friends and very close . They respect each other . Our prophet gets along well with everyone .
David, Thank you for doing this! I was very interested in an unbiased look at these candidates and I trust you to go in with an open mind and look for the good. For me especially, I like to find out who our leaders are from their foundation. I can't meet them in person and this feels like the best way to try and get to know them. I'm a big fan of the way you go about doing this work
Oh sit down . They do like each other a lot . They both visit each others church and rev brown told president Nelson he knows how persecuted we have been and especially at Joseph Smith time .
Very interesting! I love your unbiased reporting of this church. I think it's great to learn and try to understand others, as I believe this is how we can build bridges of unity.
I loved this episode because I was born in San Francisco and my mom grew up near that church! (I've lived in UT over 30 yrs now.) Thanks for the detailed insights into that service! You were fair and unbiased too! 😊
This was really interesting. Thank you. Very well done. I didn't realize that there was this connection between VP Kamala Harris and Reverend Amos Brown! That's fun to discover. Reverend Brown and President Nelson are good friends. Too bad that you didn't get a chance to ask him about President Nelson.
After Sunday School meeting, I did speak with the other reverend. I asked him what was worth visiting in the Bay Area, and he mentioned the Oakland Temple (and I hadn't even mentioned which church I was a member of by that point).
@52churchesin52weeks That's pretty cool!😍 I lived in Oakland years ago, and some friends and I went to visit the grounds of the Oakland temple one night. They knew that I was LDS, but they weren't, and they didn't know anything about the temple. One friend from New Zealand was really moved. She said that she could feel a peace there that she hadn't felt. She didn't want to leave. I remember feeling like maybe I needed to work on my testimony because I was a member, but I didn't feel the spirit as strongly as she did. It made me want to be holier. Every Sunday, I went on the top of the temple to the rose gardens and benches and looked out over the city, and thought about things. It is such a special place. I love that temple so much. And the bay area!
Thank you that was really informative. I love our Baptist brothers and sisters. I really respect how well they study the Bible. I think that it was a great idea to do this video.
All your churches have been interesting . But I am very grateful to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for 66 years in Australia 🙏🏽🇳🇿
I liked the "Jeeeeeesuuuus" part 😊 your imitation was pretty accurate. I concur with the good Reverend about the Graham's. I had a lot of respect for Billy Graham. I can't say the same about his son.
Admittedly I have never attended a Baptist service. I was surprised to see how empty the chapel was in the video. Is this typical for service you have attended David? I sure enjoy your videos and perspectives. Keep them coming!!
From what I read, the church size is approximately 800. The worship part seen here was in the earlier part of the service. Several more walked in later. My assumption is since San Francisco is so packed with people, it's hard to attend this area for church (since it takes some time to find an open parking spot if you're lucky). Also (as I mentioned in the video), the social distance floor stickers was between every other pew. After four years, to see that reinforcement of staying six feet away was odd (coming from someone outside the Bay Area bubble). With so many churches declining after the pandemic, those stickers are telling people to stay home.
I really enjoy all of your church reviews! I really hope that you had the opportunity to cross the bridge into Oakland and see the Oakland Temple. It is magnificent and I am blessed to serve there.
I find it encouraging that Rev. Brown is connected to both Harris and the LDS President. Maybe we are not quite so divided as I thought. As Jesus had both a tax collector and a zealot among his ancient disciples so he has some polar opposites among his current disciples.
Sad to see a big beautiful church preaching of Christ with so few people in, and zero kids. :-/ So sad. The world needs more Christ in any (faithful) form.

I find it very interesting that she asked for prayers before she started her campaign. All nations should have good and deep and real religious leaders. In Germany, they would not even lay their hand on the Bible anymore 😓
It's interesting to see how explicity political this sermon was, especially compared to the other churches you've visited. I'm politically on the right and I'm told by leftist that I shouldn't mix religion with politics. But its fine for those on the left to do it apparently
I liked the exterior architecture and the music was great. I do prefer more decor inside churches. I find it helps inspire my mind and soul to God. Thanks for your research to share the history. Also, love those Painted Ladies homes! They're so pretty!
I touched briefly on JD Vance at the end. Going from coast-to-coast, just couldn't make a trip to Ohio.to visit his Catholic church. Depending on election results and relevancy, I may take a crack to drive out there at some point.

Just curious, not critical. Why is there a decent picture of Kamala in the thumbnail, but in Trump’s video it’s a meme baby pic? Just wondering. Not being political.
Good question. Since it was Trump's childhood church, figured to use a Trump-looking baby pic. For the future video on his Manhattan church, it'll be a normal picture in the thumbnail.
Ma’am…. This channel is called 52 Churches in 52 Weeks. David Boyce, the channel owner, visits 52 in 52. NOT Kamala Harris. David, for his 26 visit went to Kamala’s home base church…. No one here is lying…… my gracious 🤦🏻♀️
