What's funny is I was watching a video and my mind said hey it's like that song in "It's Kind of a Funny Story". So I went to go look up that scene. Then I said why not look up the original song? So I did and I already knew David Bowie passed away but it's fate that has led me to like this song.

Queen is like a warm blanket, or a best friend that never judges you or asks to many questions. It's comfort food for the soul. I am 42 years old now. My life is vastly different than when I was 15. But reading the words to this song today, it strikes me as though it's about our collective experience, right here, right now, today. Not just on a personal level, I mean as a country. The words, maybe for the first time, are actually speaking to me. I don't know what the intention was for this song, I mean who can fathom the mind of Freddy Mercury. But all the same, I find a great deal of meaning in this song concerning the current state of humanity. Did Freddy know? Was he on to something 30 years ago? I don't know. What I do know is that this song, maybe for the first time, brought a tear to my eyes. Turns out, Queen isn't merely an essential part of American Rock History, Freddy had something to say as well. I didn't think it would be possible to like a song any more than I have for the past 30 years. But Freddy just keeps on giving.

@imunderpressure uggjhg AcTuAlLy...no, this song doesnt have anything to do with him. He later sampled the instrumentals and was sued for it. This has nothing to do with that situation
This song holds a cheerful yet somber tone to it. The world has a lot wrong with it and all we can really do is strive to be better people and pray for a better tomorrow.
I couldn't bring myself to listen to Bowie today. The loss is just too fresh in my mind. Then this song came onto autoplay and I nearly broke down. RIP David Bowie, you'll always inspire me. I hope you and Freddie are rocking out in heaven. :(
I played basketball in my youth like it was a religion. I met my wife on a basketball court when I was 14. All my closest friends are guys I used to play ball with and against in high school. Our rivals were Jersey Village, we hated them. Every year we'd make it to the state playoffs and they'd knock us out. It was a mindset that we just couldn't beat these guys. It happened my Freshman and Sophomore year just like clockwork. We met again my Junior year and like usual were getting our ass handed to us. When we came after halftime I was looking for any sign that we had a shot. This song was playing and I looked over to Kierra ( now my wife) and she just smiled. I was a PG not a great shooter but something happened that night. I made 7 in a row and the rest of the team fed off that. We ended up blowing them out of the building. Our bigs turned into a dunk contest. The real Irony is the guy for Jersey Village who trashed talk me the most ended up being my best man at my wedding. His name was Nathan Curry. He passed away a year ago from a very rare heart condition. We'll play again someday. RIP Nate.
That's one hell of a story! You should publish it in a venue that doesn't allow simpletons to reply to your comment with "uh huh", or "k". As in, get your story in print, because I doubt either one of those fuckers that commented use paper for anything else than wiping their ass. That's assuming they're capable.

Hey, listen. [Imagine, if you will, a congregation of a thousand angels sitting around in rafters made of clouds, surrounding a magnificent golden stage. Now imagine smoke filling that stage, as a lone silhouette emerges holding an old microphone. DUN DUN DUN DU-DU-DUN-DUN. DUN DUN DUN DU-DU-DUN-DUN. Angels clap to the beat as the smoke clears to reveal Freddie Mercury himself. And then... ...a comet, no, A FUCKING SPACE CAPSULE crashes behind the stage, opening its hatch to reveal David Bowie... Freddie helps him out... and... PRESSURE. PRESSING DOWN ON ME, PRESSING DOWN ON YOU...] THERE'S A HUGE FUCKING EPIC CONCERT GOING ON IN HEAVEN RIGHT NOW GUYS!

[Freddie and Vanilla in class] [Freddie places homework on teachers desk while teacher is out of room and proceeds to leave.] [Vanilla proceeds to casually go up, steal it, write all over it, write his name on it, and put it back.] [Freddie re-enters room] *Freddie:* Who defaced my homework? *Vanilla:* _Couldn't_ have been _me._
This song isn’t Freddie Mercury or Queen’s song. This song is David Bowie’s song. And all Vanilla Ice did was steal the riff at the beginning and he paid David Bowie the money in the suit and just went on.
@@ryancassel3733 That's factually incorrect. David Bowie was a contributing artist, but the song is Queen's song, and was released with their 1982 album Hot Space.

I remember... my freshman year of highschool. 15, socially awkward, and almost as big as Chris Farley. it was our first homecoming dance. I wasn't really enjoying the night, having no one to dance with, listening to world's absolutely worst music. All of a sudden, I hear that beat... start getting confident start and walk towards my crush getting pumped... as it turns out it wasn't the song I thought it was. damn vanilla ice. it was that moment I had decided to go home.
I played this at a friend's house once and when it began he said "oh is this ice, ice baby" Then I got up Walked right up to him And politely corrected him because I'm not some psychopath who attacks people because of their taste in music
Had my first kiss to this song at a middle school Valentine Day dance with some emo girl I had a crush on. It was 80s themed and we all had a lot of fun. I haven't seen her in 13 years or so. Damn I feel old lol.
"Hey, David. Long time no see." "Hey Freddy. Nice to see you again." "You ready to go?" "When haven't I been?" "Let's do it." *Bum bum bum bad ah ba dum*
I've been picturing that since the news of Mr. Bowie's death first came out... Finally, heaven gets to hear the absolute masterpiece that is 'Under Pressure' the way it was ALWAYS meant to be heard... :)
imagine : you’re at a high school dance. everyone is having a good time, and you decide to be a bastard. you request this song, and as soon as it starts, over half of the people attending assume it’s ‘ice ice baby’, when really, it’s this song. enjoy what you’ve done to human race, kid.
“Let not this often twisted world lead you astray from the beliefs in what’s right, let no one sway you or pressure you into giving up nor in, for you have a life before you to live along the path you choose. You are the one to choose, and none shall take that right away from you. You are you. You are alive. You will be alright.” The message of the song to me. And it hits home today knowing how messed things have felt to me at times. RIP these two legends of rock music, may your messages be forever remembered.

I'm not going to complain that I was born in the wrong time, but it would've been nice to see my favorite bands such as the Beatles and Queen in person
Paul McCartney
Same honestly. BTW love your profile pic
me too.. the same
don't say that to me I'm here growing up with songs from the last century
I wolddo anything to see the Beatles live.
Freddy: Hello David.
David: Hello Freddy.
Freddy: Shall we continue where we left off?
David: At the top?
Freddy: Where else my friend.
Where can I find this
Ya where else indeed
+Jagerbomb Presidente This made me tear up ;.;
this is making me cry

Now that vanilla ice is broke, I guess you could say he's under pressure
Boooo. Off the stage 👎
He isnt broke and this has nothing to do with him. Be dumb somewhere else
@@xpapaxgatorx ma man out he calling out the swine that live amongst us. Your doing gods work
IcySw4gMast3r he’s got more money now that he’s broke them you’ll have in you’re lifetime. He’s a hustler and he Always will be. He finessed the black rap game for four or five years, believe he can stay up in 2018
@imunderpressure uggjhg AcTuAlLy...no, this song doesnt have anything to do with him. He later sampled the instrumentals and was sued for it. This has nothing to do with that situation
One of my favorite songs of all time.

My step dad’s huge Bowie fan so I literally grew up listening to this song.
This is queen. Bowie's version good also
@@kamransadiq8491 arent they the same? I thought they worked together to make this.......
@@ryanbroguy ya you are right it is. My mistake
This song holds a cheerful yet somber tone to it. The world has a lot wrong with it and all we can really do is strive to be better people and pray for a better tomorrow.
2:54-3:30 is EASILY my favorite part of this song.
Mine too
Same
The best part of the song.
I don't have a favorite part cuz it's so good it makes the whole song be my favorite.

Don't be sad he's dead. Be happy you were able to be alive and listen to music the same time he was still around
*snog* I just kissed a wonderful guy :)
I couldn't bring myself to listen to Bowie today. The loss is just too fresh in my mind. Then this song came onto autoplay and I nearly broke down. RIP David Bowie, you'll always inspire me. I hope you and Freddie are rocking out in heaven. :(
In these dark times we need these artists more now than ever.
One of the few bands I could listen to everyday and not get tired of hearing them. Truely one of a kind singer in Freddy.
RIP Nate.
Gary Schneider uh huh.
Story of true love
That is quite a story, what made you want to tell it to the masses?
That's one hell of a story! You should publish it in a venue that doesn't allow simpletons to reply to your comment with "uh huh", or "k". As in, get your story in print, because I doubt either one of those fuckers that commented use paper for anything else than wiping their ass. That's assuming they're capable.
Gary Schneider An excellent story, thank you for sharing :)
Just got back from watching Bohemian Rhapsody. Had to hear this again, they are both legends and their music will live on forever. Love you both David and Freddie, you've brought such joy into our lives. Your music will never die.
Still blown away by the words, the melody....absolute genius!
Freddie mercury: hey ice, look what i made
Vanilla ice: you made this?
Freddie: yeah
Freddie: ( leaves)
Vanilla ice: .... I made this
scrubbbbbbbbb
+Mumen Rider I've seen this meme before and it'll always be my favorite
+Mumen Rider The bassline was written by John Deacon not Freddie Mercury.
Same could be said for Sir-mix-a-lot and Nicki Minaj. :I

Was thinking of this song during my SAT, helped a little, I think.
listening to this while doing physics homework
thecarebearstare Stood up and started singing this while I was taking a exam.
Geddit, cause pressure is in physics
I was listening to this while working on some homework as well.

'Cause love's such an old fashioned word
and love dares you to care for
the people on the edge of the night
and dares you to change our way of caring about ourselves
my favorite lyrics
Mine, too!
Mine too, but extended to "This is ourselves."
The 12 year old me didn't get them when I saw the video. Cried when I heard these lyrics again. What a great word.
Why can't we give love, give love, give love...
“This is our last dance” RIP to two absolute legends Freddie and David
Listening while working out and was on repeat for 1 1/2 hour.. I heard this song many times but actually listen to it today..and it's deep..can't get enough. Wow! We need more of this type of music
I listen to this song everyday it helps me hold on to my pressure
KC Hell Kat I’m doing the same thing! =]

For me the lyrics "this is our last dance, this is ourselves...under pressure" means if you find the light and love you will dance forever.❤
There are two types of people in this world
Those who say Ice Ice Baby
And those who say Pressure Pushing Down On Me
Stfu
Only one is right.
I'm the one that says under pressure pushing down on me .
im the one that says pressure pushing down on me
Anti - Series I'm both people
cant believe bowie and mercury are dead
And the worst part is Vanilla Ice owns the rights to the song.
bruh, the family jackson owns all the rights to every song of the beatles, that`s nothing compared to that!
Francisco Solano Lopez Pretty sure that Yoko Ono bought back all the rights to every Beatles song off the Jacksons.
EVEN WORSE
Damn shame
A wonderful song by super talented people from decades ago. And yet it explains perfectly
where we find ourselves in the present day!
Freddie helps him out... and...
PRESSURE. PRESSING DOWN ON ME, PRESSING DOWN ON YOU...]
THERE'S A HUGE FUCKING EPIC CONCERT GOING ON IN HEAVEN RIGHT NOW GUYS!
Good one :D made me smile
Thank you for making my day
that made me smile
+Wade Wilson This is awesome. I wonder what awesome angels would be in attendance for such an epic event. I bet Lemmy was chillin on the closest cloud with his Jack D, jamming out to this with his fellow British Brethren.
+Wade Wilson "Imagine if you will..." A fan of Rod Serling?
Roger Taylor (drummer for Queen) gave me a copy of the vinyl single in Montreal, Canada before it is was released to the stores. I love this song!
Big deal

Why can't we give love that one more chance?
Why can't we give love, give love, give love, give love

Freddie mercury , queen and David Bowie thank you for this wonderful , amazing and beautiful song , this is my absolute favourite song.
My favourite part of the song starts in "Pressure" and ends in "Pressure"
What a coincidence hahaha
Not a coincidence it is a genius way of writing songs
Agachate y conocelo

OMG! Such a coincidence!!
I guess you could say hes inbetween pressure not under
The way he adds to the beat with those sounds
2019? Queen still lives!

Actually just found queen.
Freddie and David❤️

Two legends❤️

One amazing song ❤️
[Freddie and Vanilla in class]
[Freddie places homework on teachers desk while teacher is out of room and proceeds to leave.]
[Vanilla proceeds to casually go up, steal it, write all over it, write his name on it, and put it back.]
[Freddie re-enters room]
*Freddie:* Who defaced my homework?
*Vanilla:* _Couldn't_ have been _me._
Brilliant 😂
This song isn’t Freddie Mercury or Queen’s song. This song is David Bowie’s song. And all Vanilla Ice did was steal the riff at the beginning and he paid David Bowie the money in the suit and just went on.
@@ryancassel3733 That's factually incorrect. David Bowie was a contributing artist, but the song is Queen's song, and was released with their 1982 album Hot Space.
That is so freaking true 😂😂😂
Vanilla: "mine went da da da DA da da da da
If heaven is real, I hope my departure from earth includes this song.

did you snopes it?
Emlonknee No, it's real.

What an iconic song. I just wish it was given more time and importance in the movie.
We need revolutionary artists like this again in our time of peril. America is falling apart at the seams.
Well now that Vanilla Ice is broke, I guess you can say he's under pressure

I remember... my freshman year of highschool. 15, socially awkward, and almost as big as Chris Farley. it was our first homecoming dance. I wasn't really enjoying the night, having no one to dance with, listening to world's absolutely worst music. All of a sudden, I hear that beat... start getting confident start and walk towards my crush getting pumped... as it turns out it wasn't the song I thought it was. damn vanilla ice. it was that moment I had decided to go home.
Joe Bell dammit, you should've asked them to play this song dude :/
Anon iam they didn't take requests
+Joe Bell damn, I can't imagine how painful that was. I still had a good laugh though.
***** I'll give you that.
lol
I played this at a friend's house once and when it began he said "oh is this ice, ice baby"
Then I got up
Walked right up to him
And politely corrected him because I'm not some psychopath who attacks people because of their taste in music
UsedMcDonald'ssodacup _ sad
Love that XD
They had us in the first half, not gonna lie.
No Mercy
I'm not the owner of this account but I'm a girl and would have done all that and more!! Lol
"Love dares us to change our way of caring about ourselves"

Had my first kiss to this song at a middle school Valentine Day dance with some emo girl I had a crush on. It was 80s themed and we all had a lot of fun. I haven't seen her in 13 years or so. Damn I feel old lol.

I've been picturing that since the news of Mr. Bowie's death first came out... Finally, heaven gets to hear the absolute masterpiece that is 'Under Pressure' the way it was ALWAYS meant to be heard... :)
JOTARO!!! I HAVE FOUND YOU!
There are two types of people
“Ice ice baby”
“Under pressure”

Bobby G I’m the latter it will FOREVER be under pressure first and foremost even though I’ve met vanilla
Come on man this song is better than ice ice baby David Bowie and Freddie Mercury
Soon it will be one :)
I like both . :D
imagine :
you’re at a high school dance. everyone is having a good time, and you decide to be a bastard.
you request this song, and as soon as it starts, over half of the people attending assume it’s ‘ice ice baby’, when really, it’s this song.
enjoy what you’ve done to human race, kid.
Thats just pure evil
*Oh yes I will enjoy it*
micah :// I’d be the most unimpressed person ever if half of them don’t know under pressure then I would walk out and be like y’all are dumb
So I'm going to do this
I'll just sit back and watch the whole world burn.
“Let not this often twisted world lead you astray from the beliefs in what’s right, let no one sway you or pressure you into giving up nor in, for you have a life before you to live along the path you choose. You are the one to choose, and none shall take that right away from you. You are you. You are alive. You will be alright.”
The message of the song to me. And it hits home today knowing how messed things have felt to me at times. RIP these two legends of rock music, may your messages be forever remembered.
