Thank you Lydia, please do share the basic staples for the different categories! Shoes for summer, shoes for winter, shoes that could be worn all year round. Knits, jackets etc! Love to see what is coming next!
Love your staples videos Lydia. Yes the deep dive on individual items would be great - I would love to know about all of your suggestions especially blouses - ie colours, prints, shapes and what to style them with. I’m with you on the classics. Just wish I could afford the Dior…❤❤
I have never seen someone as beautiful and as well dressed as you!!! You always look super clean!! I love you sooo muchhhh!! I just can’t get enough of your loveliness and sweetness!! Keep up this phenomenal work of yours! A work of art
Yes! I have been a long time follower and has always been a bit sad that I couldn't shop at some of the UK brand sites that you mention in your videos so thanks for pointing that out! I think Everlane and Quince in US have allowed me to get a few things that are similar to the styles that you mention.
Thanks, Lydia, for this terrific video. I particularly like brainstorming how to wear one piece multiple ways to make my wardrobe staples go further. So, I'd appreciate deep dive videos on styling one piece multiple ways. I'm a U.S. follower and I often get wardrobe basics from Lands End. They are an affordable price point with good quality that will last multiple seasons. They have wool, cotton, and cashmere sweaters in all size ranges from petite to tall to larger sizes (also petite and tall). Thanks, again, so very much!
I just ordered my first Sezane item. It's a beautiful lacy white blouse which shipped today to the US and I will be so excited to receive it! I specifically bought it to wear with black faux leather pants, but I think it will work with so many things in my wardrobe. Love your videos!
@@Alanna.marie13My package arrived today. It shipped just yesterday!! Is this a one time thing or do they always ship this fast? At any rate, I couldn't be happier with my purchase. The fit is perfect, the quality of the garment is excellent, the style and fabric is exquisite. Worth every penny.
Really enjoyed this Lydia and would like to see more in depth videos on this topic as well. All these staple pieces mix and match with each other to create so many stylish looks. I think that is the key to curating a good wardrobe. A problem I always have with dressing is trying to introduce contrast into my looks to make them more edgy and also knowing how to balance a look. Like chunky boots with tight leggings and oversized knits…being petite makes it so much harder. Thanks for what you do
I couldn’t agree more!! I too am obsessed with Banana Republic, they have great cashmere and it’s included in the 40% off sales! I’m petite so it’s one of the few stores that makes chic elegant clothes for petites.
@@debbieshultz7335 As a retail exec I'm obsessed with the rebrand and the materials now and you're so right that cashmere ❤️❤️❤️. It's dangerous in the best way
My winter staples are a puffy coat, a beanie, thermals, wool socks and turtleneck jumpers. I feel like bags, belts and watches are just year round items and not ‘winter essentials’
I would love to see you do a video on how to dress for fall/ winter in a warmer country. Here in the US south it fluctuates from warm to cold during the winter and I find I need clothes that look wintery but are not too hot to wear. For instance the wool sweaters look so pretty but wouldn't get much wear here. Love your basics videos!
Alway so much inspiration from these capsule videos from Lydia. The faux leather trousers look has been incorporated into my wardrobe and it's a Winter winner here in New Zealand.
LOVE these essentials Lydia, and yes, so sad Arket doesn't ship to the US! Since you asked, brands I look for cashmere in the US include Garnet Hill, Pendleton Woolen Mills, Brooks Brothers, Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, Neiman Marcus, Dillards, Chicos, Ann Taylor. And for merino Ibex, Icebreaker, Smart Wool, Arcteryx, Kuhl. I'm sure there are many more. I love the european brands you've introduced us to, including FilippaK, Sezane, Cos, And Other Stories. Keep up the great content!
Thank you for another really useful video Lydia. Thanks to you I have a great wardrobe of staples in the making. For future videos, I would be so interested in rainy day ideas as I spent much of the British winter dodging the rain on the school run and dog walks! ☔️ xx
Love your videos! Could you do one where you pick an item and go through your process of how to style it? For instance, trying on different shirts or shoes and think aloud about why you pick certain accessories? It’s nice to see the challenge you may face as a stylist. I think you’ve done something similar before in your shorts (like which shoes to try with which pants). Thank you!
This was very good, but this is autumn for me. Here in Denmark we are reaching the subzero temperatures and it's always very windy! Can you make one for freezing weather?? 🥶
Hello Lydia.Just want to thank you so so much for your videos they inspire so much and with your help my wardrobe changed into much better version that i am so happy for. Thank you thank you so much for taking time and doing your videos
Thank you for your style insight! Love the Arket pieces you wear, and yes, still no Arket store here in US - currently Arket won’t even ship to the US! Wish I had visited when I was in London few months ago…
Hi Lydia, I am American and live in Italy. The best Cashmere I have found is Everlane. It is the absolute best quality on so many levels, not just the cashmere. That to me is the best best for the US. Best Wishes, Amy
Love this video and the many others I have watched. In the US, I know many people have liked Quince for affordable cashmere and washable silk. Unfortunately, they don't have my size. Elizabeth Suzann offers great quality, sustainable clothes but they are definitely something you have to save up and budget for. I would love to see more of these videos and hope you will continue to mention the brands that are more sustainable. I appreciate you doing that. I would also love it if you could make mention of clothing brands that include sizes above an XL, i.e., plus or curve sizes. I realize you are straight-sized and don't expect you to only feature plus-size friendly brands, but it is more of a challenge to find quality, affordable, sustainable/ethical clothing pieces as a larger person, so even if it is only occasionally that you come across brands who meet any of these criteria, I would love to know. Thanks!!
Ever since I moved from NYC to Madrid I've been extra gleeful because now I can shop Arket 🙌🙌🙌 but in the US, I would say that Everlane is the queen of quality basics and really focused on DTC. Their whole platform originally was founded on radical transparency in pricing and supply chain, as well as sustainability. Quince and Naadam have been my cashmere go-to shops, and there's also & other stories (though not as popular).
You really are helpful in showing how to wear so many different styles . Such a classy young lady . Love all of your videos !! Keep up the great work!!
Thank you I have been fallowing for a while and have some of those pieces; I love them I feel better, I’m more focus when I buy something and I received a lot of compliments.
Thank you for great inspiration. All the looks you post in the channel are very classic yet chic well put together. I really enjoy watching all you videos. Also blog with all items helps a lot. I have a question/request. Let's say if you starting to build your wardrobe from the beginning, for the winter period it would be nice to see how can u mix match outfits having only 1 coat and 1 puffer jacket. And maybe suggestions which one to get to keep it timeless and still match well. Would be ready grateful if you consider to make video out of it.
Really helpful video, thank you Lydia 👌👍🥰 And I would definitely love to see a staples video in more detail e.g. knitwear etc that would be really really useful. I’m trying now to buy more “staple” items that I think will last longer and that I feel will go with a lot after seeing your videos and I have to say it feels really exciting gradually building on these and adding to a wardrobe that will be longer lasting and therefore more sustainable so THANK YOU 🥰
The black coat is really a dark charcoal or gray coat. My husky sheds everywhere. It’s not possible to leave house wearing black, getting out of the car wearing black without looking sloppy. She’s managed to imprint everywhere. 😅
I absolutely love your outfits, information and explanation! Can you please find some great cotton sweaters!? As much as I try wool really makes me itch! Love your work!
Went to Arket for the first time in September when I was in London and I loved it! Such beautiful pieces. Hoping they come to the US soon. Some comparable brands I like for quality staple pieces in the US are Vince & Eileen Fisher. Eileen is a bit more mature but they use very high quality fabrics that last. I like Aritzia but I feel like their materials are pretty low quality considering their price.
Your videos kind of remind me of the scene in Parent Trap when we see Lindsay Lohan join the photoshoot with her mom in England... (as a child her mom was total #stylegoals for me) but with practical information that I can apply to my life 😆 Thank you so much for making these!
Everlane is my go to for cashmere and merino wool pieces at fair prices. Their pieces are high quality. Super recommend for those looking for basics similar to those from Arket in the US.

Just thrifted a pair of Old Navy jeans called Staywarm. They have a fleecy inside. Super skinny and perfect fit! Six dollars minus my 25% senior discount! Ony problem, have to alter front pockets for phone. Why don't women's clothing have pockets?!?! Hi Lydia, great video! Would you make a video on homewear? Lovely presentation. I live in basics all winter. I prefer merino wool fine knits. I am allergic to regular wool. I purchase mine at Banana Republic in the US. I am currently looking for a checked blazer that is not oversized. I can't wear an exaggerated shoulder and I am petite. Do you have petite sizing in the UK? Arket will not ship to the US.
