It still might be a Dunsparce evolution. Some Pokemon change Abilities when they evolve (e.g., Magikarp's Swift Swim becomes Gyarados' Intimidate, and Yanma's Compoundeyes becomes Yanmega's TInted Lens).
Interesting concept. Now I'll look forward to seeing the full list of Gen 7 Pokemon and finding out which one I'll forget about finding out about. Keep up the good work!
Salandit doesn't really make sense for a pokemon that would be all that forgettable. Considering that it's ability let's it poison everything regardless of typing it's the only pokemon that can poison steel types and poison types. Regardless of design a pokemon that can give a pokemon a status affect that no pokemon in it's type group could get previously seems pretty memorable. That's just me though to each their own opinion I suppose.
i think salandit has a chance of being not forgotten because its ability is really useful it can poison steel and poison types so it is quite handy it competitive battling

I used to think that it was a Cherubi-like Pokémon, but, I made a sprite for it, (I made sprites for a decent amount of Gen 7 Pokémon) and then I fell in love with it. I have no idea why, I like Bounsweet thou.
Actually, Bounsweet got evolutions revealed the other day. And its final evolved form is called Tsareena. ...Pronounced like Serena. Arguable the most popular of Ash's traveling companions.

the thing with drampa is it looks alot like the wish dragon from "the never ending story" meaning people who grew up watching it, drampa, will hold a place in tgeir memories due to nostalgia, and with wimpod you say it only runs away so people will forget about it, isn't that exactly what abra and the legendary dogs did, yet they are very memorable.

Since Kabuto is also one of these, it's surprising if Wimpod is not a resurrected fossil. Unless it's a descendant which just happened to survive whatever mass extinction event wiped out the other fossils.
Don't sleep on Komala. Having the Comatose ability, as well as having (as shown in one demonstration of Pokemon Sun and Moon) Rapid Spin, gives it the potential of being a great hazard remover, provided it evolves and has some gud stats. Stay alert on this info.
