- When Alex first spotted this scared cat in his yard, he was crying for help. He realized that Cinnabon was a stray, so he started feeding him. He didn't think much of their bond at first, but one day, Cinnabon surprised him! Now, they're besties who share movie nights and warm cuddles.

I spent 12 years taming a stray kitten that lived in my yard. She finally let me pet her and even climbed into my lap a few times during the 13th and last year of her life. It was worth every second.

I have 3 cats born in my home from a feral mom and they still don't let me pet them. It's been my wish for 14 years and still on. I know the feeling.
I'm going through this right now with a cat I've named CowCat. We started out where he wouldn't come within a hundred yards of me. Now, he will share the deck with me. He pets me, but if I try to pet him, he may take a piece of meat out of my hand. We are making progress, but I'm not sure where we will go with this. He prefers to be outside, and I'm not sure I want him in the house. I think he's turned himself into a guard cat, keeping other forms of unsavory wildlife away. I don't see scat in my yard any longer while he's around. I'm a dog person, so CowCat has to train both me and Henry (my dog) in the ways of the cat. It's been an interesting challenge.

Yes, Lex had said in a video that Cinnabon had been abandoned by his human family cause they possibly moved away when Cinnabon was outside. I feel that if Cinnabon was outside and still a family cat and his human family never tried to find him it means they didn’t want him anymore. So, it’s their loss and Lex’s gain. Also for that, Cinnabon has a much better and spoiled life which is how it should be.🥰😺❤️👍🏻

Reason being, cats will not mindlessly come to a person who is abusive like a dog will. Studies show that it is a good sign to look for in men. Three months ago a feral showed up on my ranch. As I gained her trust she became very affectionate. During the day she hangs out in the hay barn. 😺

Two and a half years ago I picked up two female rescue cats from a shelter. I picked out a 6 1/2 year old female and a 2 1/2 year old tiny female picked me out. I was only going to get one but the little 2 1/2 yr old just wouldn't leave me alone while I was at the shelter. At first I didn't want such a young cat being 69 yrs old but in the end I brought her home too. When I get a visitor she always hisses at them as she only wants me & doesn't trust anyone else at all.......I guess we're cuddle buddies forever!!

I was very lucky with my 2nd cat. He was a cute stray cat in the backyard of my home when I was 11 years old. It was late September 1981. He was scared at me at first meeting. He came out of hiding for a few minutes of talking to him. He started to cuddled with me. He was the sweetest cat ever. He did instantly bonded with me from the start. He spent overnight on the door mat next to the patio door. I think both of my parents laughed in seeing him sleeping. Even my sister was the 2nd person that came contact with him. The same with both of my parents,too. It took a month and a half to finally adopted him inside of our home. My mother fell in loved with him for being a big sweetie. I did name him Roughneck when he was a stray cat. My mother shortened it towards Ruffy for being a big sweetie. That name was stuck towards him. Even our 1st cat became friends with him,too. Ruffy was more than my cat a little bit over 12 years of friendship. It was kind of my fault in 1st meeting him. He was very sweet and friendly cat that was very gentle in nature. He did acted liked a dog,too. He was a big American shorthair red tabby cat. To me he was my best friend. I never had another cat that didn’t acted liked him. He was one of a kind cat.
I've done similar. Daily fed a homeless cat, eventually earned his trust, and eventually adopted him. It took him awhile for him to adjust, which I understood and was patient. The vet checked him out and he received a clean bill of health, fortunately. He's now my happy adopted cat. Homeless cats don't always know they need saving. Once you do, they're so appreciative and sweet. Life on the streets is pretty tough for them. They need human assistance to successfully survive.
I love that you featured Lex and Cinnabon! Lex had to be very patient to earn Cinnabon’s trust, but it was worth it. He now has a safe home, good food, medical care when needed, and a loving cat dad and grandma. Yes, Lex’s mom spoils Cinnabon too.

Brought tears to my eyes, because I did the same thing 15 years ago with a feral cat. Fed him, housed him in a heated doghouse over the winter, finally tricked him into a cat carrier to the vet for neutering and shots. Took 6 months but he finally came inside, and one night jumped up and settled in my lap. We named him Lanky, had him for 10 years until his heart failed. Cremated, he sits next to my recliner...😻😔

When a ginger cat chooses you you get a real buddy, I fed an abandoned ginger and he hung around for 8 years, but he did wander and one day he just didn't come back, never found out what had happened but he had food shelter and a friend for the time he spent with me.
I’m sure someone mentioned it already in the 430 comments before me, but the clipped ear indicates that he was deemed feral at some point in his life, was trapped, neutered and released. He certainly has learned to trust humans now and he’s living a wonderful life!
The ear is a sign of TNR, but that is more often done to "friendly" stray or abandoned cats (who are more likely to be reported and easier to catch) than true ferals. A true feral is wild! I've TNRed a few and even had a couple get loose in a room. Yikes! Cin was scared, wary of trusting a human as he'd probably been let down, but now he has a loving home and 100k followers!
My 2 cats have tipped ears bc the vet thought they were going to be released. I'm TERRIFIED they'll get out bc no one would ever try to catch them. 😢

I grew up as a "dog person" most my life. Just never had a family cat. As an adult my partner and I rescued two kitties and I realized what ive been missing my whole life! I love my puppers just as much but there's something so unbelievably sweet about my boy cat jumping on my computer desk and cradling himself in my arms and resting his chin on my wrist and going to sleep purring. A content cat is such a sweet sight 😻

There are many stray cats out there, just look... You many not be able to pet them, but you can
care for them just the same...
Took me 3 winters to get my stray to finally let me pet her. Now she's a cuddle bug and is a great new friend. She is still scared of strangers and hides when someone stops by to visit. But all and all, she was worth all the time it took to help her be my friend. 😻
