Why are people afraid of the wear and tear? U should have to use yiur backups in game. People say they want innovation but are never receptive of it when it comes.

They want realism but don’t want realism, if you know what I mean
I don’t think it’sa fear of the system as much as a fear of how effective it’s going to be. Like sure, in real life players suffer from wear and tear but they are usually going to play as a starter throughout the majority of the season. The fear here I feel is if I run my back a lot in week two is the system going to be so overdone that they’re now effectively useless the remainder of the season.
Tl;dr : is the system going to be balanced or just overkill
Fortunately we have the option to turn wear and tear off.

Without the Espn branding, this probably isn’t very likely. Hopefully they’ll come up with their own version to be able to put in the game.
To me the wear & tear system isn't that big of a deal for me. I like how they actually focused on realism and now you have to actually use most the players on your roster. That sounds fantastic to me!

I think so many people are worried it’ll be broken like the “fatigue system “ in Madden. Everybody on each team’s exhausted midway through the first quarter by the time you get to the December part of the schedule

@@miwakenster3 They really do need to dial back the progressive fatigue because it really doesn't make any sense as to why my best players can only play 5 minutes of the Super Bowl.
Wear and tear is the greatest addition to football, I think 2k needs a better substitution process on there now.

In my Online dynasty for 2014, I used to love the formation changes, I would put different RBs, WRs, and TEs and move around so the wear and tear may be fun. It may be similar to the old stamina meter where guys would risk injury and play with minor injuries and risk more.
With the wear and tear, I bet you see a lot of people making their players fall to the ground or "give themselves up" to keep from taking constant hits.

I remember back in the older games like NCAA 08 if your small school started doing really well eventually you would get an offer to join a bigger conference. They got rid of it in the later versions of the game, but that would be a cool feature to bring back.

Im not turning off wear and tear… this is not Madden that is a nice realistic feature that I would like to adapt to but that passing meter is getting turned off expeditiously

I think for college 25 you should tell the dev team that’s it would be a cool idea to add the weather app so for example if we’re in a game and it’s sunny but in the 3 quarter it starts to rain and before games you can look at the weather to see what’s going to happened on that d

Wear and tear isn't gonna keep the madden head out it's gonna keep out the people who spam the same plays to the same people. You shouldn't have a injury every game but you also shouldn't be 100% ether. I like having injuries just don't like when my best player gets hurt for weeks. I hope it's balanced to the best it can be and the injury attribute actual play a factor
people are not understanding that the wear and tear system will not lead to MORE injuries. its a damage system that builds up over time during the game. if you ignore the warning signs that a player is at risk of injury, then thats when they will happen

Wear and tear is realistic..if you have a small receiver catch the pass and avoid big hits . Also some players have special abilities that will help them be more durable

I'm so so so happy we can create and edit fictional players!!! Nobody really cares about real players - they're all gone within 4 seasons. But if I didn't have editing control over fictional players, this game would sadly be a no go.

The part I am concerned about with wear n tear is teams like the academies, where the FB runs maybe 20-30x up the middle but in real life that’s how they really do it, or what about a Derek Henry? Late in the season he carried the ball 40x a game especially the sec Championship and he was the back that got better the more carries he got
I’d really like to have robust auto-sub options, as well as a pop-up or feed during play selection that shows which players are in and out for both teams
They couldn’t figure out auto subs and stamina in madden they aren’t gonna figure it out magically in this game and I’m sure this wear and tear is gonna be extremely flawed based on EAs track record with this type of system

And maybe for a morale perspective you can list your depth chart after the spring game which will play into the transfer portal. Then you can set another depth chart before week 1 and same thing

Does anyone know if we can add music for 3rd down situations, etc, like in 2014. No one seems to remember that. So, for instance, if they couldn't get the rights, we could upload/download the songs ourselves.

I love the wear and tear. I always try and run a committee backfield in my madden franchises but found it to be hard and unrealistic in sim so I like these changes and hopefully it'll be cool!

In 14, if you were a coordinator you are responsible for still recruiting for your entire team, even the other side of the ball. Is this still the case?
No talk of the coaching mode at all? Is it even in the game?
Is there a feature to auto-sub players when they reach a certain fatigue level? Like if a player drops to 65% stamina or something we can preset a player to enter the game at that position until the starter is back up to 80%?
In Dynasty mode as in previous versions of NCAA games can your university be invited to another conference based on performance and/or other parameters?
I have been to 3 iron bowls and also 3 auburn vs Georgia games and it was louder than when I went to Auburn at penn state in a whiteout. They had crowd noise playing on the speakers to boost the noise, and I recognized this cause I was in the top deck close to the scoreboard. Penn state should be a tope ten atmosphere but not top three.

They haven't confirmed, would imagine every base set is in the game, alternates would be DLC more than likely

I'm rolling with ULL...can't wait to get those black on black jerseys. I brought them to a legit team in 14 until I left and took over Memphis - and couldn't win to save my life. Regretted it after the first game. Had the #1 QB, RB and WR...and never got to use them.

The player gap in college is exciting. Therefore I’m excited for the wear and tear system. You play ncaa 13 and your starter QB gets hurt almost every single game. Injuries are realistic, and the challenge in having to play with not so great teams, against good teams will make for exciting wins, and this adds an acceptable realism aspect to the game. In Madden they couldn’t do this, that idea alone is why college football is more fun to watch.

No one has talked about uniforms. For example, is Oregon’s plethora of mix-and-match uniforms going to be available? Also, will I be able to edit Michigan’s uniforms…like yellow jerseys with Blue pants? I haven’t heard anything mentioned about this…can you answer this?
Yes, Oregon will have 20+ jersey options
I remember hearing from Eric Wayweather I believe every team has 3 or 4 uniforms and then some teams (like Oregon) had more to choose from

If the wear and tear system is accurately predicting injuries then that's kind of cheesy. Very rarely, almost never, are injuries predictable. If it's used so that my running back's top speed on his 65th carry of the game is 20% less than his overall speed that'll make more sense.

Anyone who is complaining about the wear and tear system doesn’t understand it. The only thing we had before was your star player would get injured off a throw away play bc you had no clue where your guy was physically.. here you can control how often or seldom you play someone based on how healthy you are. All it does is add to the game
In real life do you know if your running back is one or two hits away from injury? No.. you have no clue.. the people saying this is realistic are slow.. and to think EA will get a complex/nuanced system like this correct and have it working to where it doesn’t ruin the game is optimistic at the very least.. they always screw stuff like this up.. last year they couldn’t get auto subs and progressive fatigue to work at all and you think the same company is gonna get this wear and tear right? 😂😂
Why can't they have the coaches? Couldn't they simply opt-in or did EA just not have enough time to do the coaches in this game?
Wear and tear isn't a truly big deal i rotate 2 or 3 rbs depending on the formation any way

I’m still waiting on someone to critique and analyze the actual gameplay. Like the features are cool but nobody is giving anything about the specifics of what to expect with gameplay other than vague crap like it’s a faster game speed and “it feels different”. I want to know things like if I have a 1v1 mismatch on the outside with a 6’3 WR matched up against a 5’11 DB, will I get some type of interaction that allows the WR to body up and use his size to make a contested jumpball catch or is it the same old players clipping through each other and it’s just a random dice roll of who comes down with the ball? In a simulation football game in 2024 I feel like that should be a mandatory aspect coded into the game. It was in older games but hasn’t been present since the PS5 released.
I believe we haven't seen this yet because outside of EA employees no one has had sufficient time with the game. That should come once outlets have the game for extended time to review.
I don’t understand how I won’t be able to edit player ratings? What makes it any different than editing Madden player ratings? So basically if a freshman breaks out during the year or a team performs better than expected, I can’t tune the rosters to portray that for realism? I understand not editing players name/height/weight/gear but ratings are completely subjective…Or if I literally just want to make a team better because I want to customize the experience, why can’t I do that? Absolutely ridiculous
The NFLPA licensed all the players. Each player in college football had to opt into the game individually. College does not have a player's union. That was why. It is a contracting thing. Player's will not enter the game if you make them look like trash.

But when EA gives a player a 65 overall that’ll make them feel better? I’m still holding out hope that this is just a miscommunication from the people who played the game because it just doesn’t make any sense at all. Why would me changing a player’s rating on my game and console have any affect on anybody at all outside my game?
Not gonna lie…. I’d rather be able to edit gear before ratings for existing players any day.

@@dylanbatchelor2985: You clearly do not understand contracting. The game went away because they were allowing people to put in real people and not compensate for them. If they dealing with individuals who could opt out of the game like Arc Manning (and you cannot edit him in apparently) and it would change the value of the overall game. Again no union in college can set the standard for the process so this is what we got. It is not a miscommunication because this was the reason the game went away in the first place. So this is how they handle it so we can have a game. You will just have to get over that part, because that is not changing likely anytime soon.
Im good with wear and tear system. It’s why you have backups. Most if not all of us in the comments haven’t even played so hold your whining for when you actually play the game.
