Oh my gosh this is AMAZING! It’s my dream to be a marine biologist and my favorite animal ever are whale sharks! I just recently got into crocheting and I’m so addicted it’s not even funny. This would seriously be my dream project, I just have decide if I’m brave enough to try to attempt something like this!! Your an inspiration for sure!!
Thanks! I know when I started my giant whale shark I was nervous because not many people make such big amigurumi so I thought it would be cool to share my process!!
So picking up chunky yarn again after only making clothing for so long feels so weird butttt I love whale sharks and I’m gonna try and make one! I’ve started with the head and hes gonna be a very large boy hehe
How much yarn did you use for the big boy at the beginning? I’m thinking about making it in chunky yarn (I’m almost done with the pattern in worsted weight yarn) but I don’t know how much yarn I need since I’m not used to crocheting with chunky yarn. Thank you for inspiring me to make my new whale shark friend :)
@@Turtleboiiii I think I used 7 white skeins, 5 blue, and 1 pink! Once you finish your worsted weight one dm me a pic of it on insta, I would love to see it!
Hello!! I saw your instagram video about your GIANT boy, and put it on my 2024 goals to make him, but now I’m seeing Barbie, who seems pretty giant too. Could you tell me how long & wide your big boy is compared to Barbie’s 3 feet? I’m tempted to make him but realizing I may not have space to store him anywhere 😅 loved this series, it was very helpful!
yeah I think the person took it off their website (I’ve heard rumors that it might have been a stolen pattern) there is someone selling the pattern on ribblr or ravelry!
I originally found it on Crochet Pic2re's blog but that got taken down. There is someone on Ribblr or Ravelry selling it and there are some people on reddit posting the pattern too, hope that helps!

I love the name Barbie for it!
I think it’s just the perfect name for her! 💖
Am I the only one who wants to see how you make the baby whale shark ? I would love to see a tutorial on that 🙂💜
I was thinking of selling the pattern, but it was inspired by the larger whale shark so I wouldn’t really be comfortable selling/releasing it
