It's amazing that just 1" can change the look of that bike that much!

Finally someone uses machine tools instead of a grinder and a cut off wheel. I am going to be doing this to my Hodaka very soon. Making a jig first.

A+ brother!! Excellent little shop and milling those slugs was about as professional as one could get!! Looking to do this on my '99 honda rebel 250 as im 6'1 and already made forward controls and extensions for my legs, seat is still abit forward and puts a slouch in my back... So, extending the rear swingarm will allow me to move the fender rearward and thus the seat!! Excellent video fella!!

Thank you very much! Eventually I'll be making new triple clamps for the steering head too.

Excellent job and very entertaining! I have one question and it might be because I‘m german and have a lack in translating 😊.
How do you manage to keep the space of the axle like before when you weld in the spacers, because the swingarms are not running parallel.
Is this the secret of the 2(4) welding points ?

    That was cool ...
Not sure ...yet ...what i could sleeve the lower arm with ...( since I dont have a lathe )...

Solicit a local (small) machine shop. Most can be resonable on small stuff.

Can you do same extension for my bike? Than you, Alex

How much slack will the bikes chain need, will adding three inches to the shocks and changing the angle of the swing arm cause the rear sprocket to move back too much when the springs are compressed ?

At this point I don't have the answers to your questions, right now I'm just building.

could have swapped with a 750/1000 swing arm and got 1.5 to 2 " would have had to only ream the frame pivot out for the larger 1000 swing arm
    bolt.

I'll keep that information handy, might get my hands on another one. Thanks!

How did you come across this info? I need to do the same for an old KZ650.

Thanks for the video! I'm still a little nervous about cutting the tubes. Do you think it would be safe to weld an extension at the end? I got a new rim that has a different axle thickness so it would be easier to add something new.

      Yes, absolutely!
