One of those songs I'd never have recalled but as soon as it came on TOTP 1978 tonight, I knew the whole thing back to front, lyrics and all 😂 A hidden gem!
This is an " Ingenious Hybrid " Of 2 Musical Genres" !! There Is An " Overwhelming And literal Nodding Throughout To A " Classic Bygone Era " Which Is " Brilliantly Complimented " By The What Would Have Been The Case In 1978 Of " The " Classic Disco Period " But With A " Slightly Surrealist Twist In Terms Of The Imagery " !! Richard Myhill " Threw His " Musical Hat" Into A Variety Of Ventures But This Is His " By Far His Greatest Achievement " In My View " !!! From Adrian Browne 1965
Back in 1978 when we first went to England we saw this on top of the and my mom fell in love with this song back in 1978 My mom died last year November 6th 2022 and I miss her ever so much and I played this song in her memory the last time we watch top of the pops together was the last time we watch top of the pops together was in 1982 and it was Captain sensible Happy talk
@@RagedContinuumYes, Myhill is still alive. He put out a new album: The Eccentric Paintbox 2, back in March. His music is amazing and very underrated! And like most others, I heard of him from some of his songs being featured on SpongeBob.
Yea me too I was haunted by this as a kid and allways wondered what I'd seen. Then youtube came along and my mystery was answered. No wonder it put the shits up me in the 70s have you seen the way the dummy keeps turning its head !
I can't remember the dummy's name... She definitely had a name. I have a vague memory of him being stopped by the police with her sitting in the passenger seat next to him!

Came up on Facebook. Just had a look. Far better than I remember it being
The love child of Angus Deayton and Chris de Burgh.
Maybe a hint of Russ Abbott too
I have this on a square vinyl, love it
Richard Myhill later became a composer of library music, mostly for KPM
I thought that was him! Interesting to know this is the same guy famous for Hawaiian Cocktail, Hawaiian Link, and Surfin' Summer on SpongeBob
is he still alive? He is another brilliant anglo composer - just noticed a track of his on the 1995 and 1996 lightwave 3d reels

We used to see him taking the train to London. His wife was beautiful.
She certainly was a doll. Hope he never let her down.
Ho Hum! Beware It's Square!

Dat heeft wel nut ja, inferieure audio van vinyl in stereo over de betere mono audio zetten.... (Sic!)
Pretty bad. Did people really buy this! No wonder it's not on any 70s compilations.
