hi, prices were so much cheaper back there, before covid... now it's hard to find anything decent under $8-9k at least from what i have seen online from japan sellers. the well-used one are around $7-8k.. have you been back to japan lately? are prices still the same or higher now?

Winnie, thanks for doing this video just in case I'm going to Japan this year. I'm actually planning to check out some of these shops for Hermes bags & accessories if I go to Osaka. Apparently, the prices in Japan for Hermes bags are not all that cheap, so alot of leg work is needed to compare the prices.

Thank you, you are so kind, Diane 😘 I think the selection and prices are similar in Osaka and Tokyo. It is very hard to find vintage bags in Hong Kong because of the relatively low demand - people are not that into secondhand and vintage bags in Hong Kong. I was at a Milan Station the other day and someone brought a vintage Hermes bag to the store and the storekeeper said they no longer accept vintage bags. 🥴

Thanks, Dear. It is true in their Ginza store in Tokyo. I went there once in the morning and saw people lining up before it opened and then they went straight to the handbags. I saw one crocodile Birkin and a few Lindys that time. 😊

I was hopping to get B or K, like what u mentioned most of the birkin 30 is very high priced. In the end, I’ve purchased a herbag, kelly 28, some bag charms and scarves. 🤩 Just sharing with you, my hotel is closed to nikko hotel and nearby ALLU shop. This is a very beautiful shop, their scarves in new or good condition. Do you buy scarves fr preloved market? Do you feel Osaka is better than Tokyo if looking for B30? If it’s brand new, it’d definitely be more expensive than most other regions in the world as the retail price from Hermès is much higher than most other regions. Also in Japan it’s not necessary to have purchase records before you can purchase a bag. If they have bags in store, you can buy them. So when people saw those bags in the shops, they usually buy them regardless if they want them, then sold them to those resellers to make some easy cash. The resellers will then sell them at premium.

Hi Winnie... so nice to see another of your videos... I always find it astounding that there are so many Hermes bags for sale and yet the price continues to be high. I wonder what your thoughts are on the Hermes "mirror-image replicas" that are made identical to the Hermes bags with same leather and same hand stitching? Many people appreciate the design and quality of the Hermes bags, but simply can never afford to buy one... Is it a moral issue to buy only the genuine, or is it acceptable to buy a replica? I have been on the side of creating my own designs and then having a huge company steal my designs and produce at a cheaper price in competition to my own work. I see it from both sides myself. I would love to own a Kelly Doll bag... I personally could not afford one in a lifetime of saving...

Thank you for your comment and questions. I have heard about mirror-image or 1:1 replicas and I think it’s false advertisement. There are definitely good fakes and bad fakes but it is never good to buy fakes. If people like the brand, they will respect it and not buy fakes. If people just like the designs of the bags and don’t care about the brand, then they should consider buying an inspired design without the ‘Hermes’ logo. If people want to buy a fake bag to make people feel a certain way about them, then they should understand that other people do not care what bags one carries. People who make fakes stole companies’ and people’s ideas and benefit from it; it is an intellectual property infringement - it is dishonest, unethical and immoral. We should not support this act. People who like the brand and their bags should consider buying secondhand - they are real and they are more affordable. 😊

Hi, it’s hard to tell which store has what you want. They are really close to each other. So you may want to look at their windows and decide whether or not to go in. I would not recommend Herbag because I do not like canvas bags - there will be discolouration and they get dirty easily. There is also no resell value. 😊
