this cant be considered a song. its an entire production, an epic...magnum opus. i found this last friday and im not ashamed to say that it brought real tears. in my case i found it overly relatable and the fact that he bared his soul to the world like this, its unimaginably profound. this will save lives, theres no doubt.
I love this song and Ren has so many other great songs. Having said that, there's a clear edit at the two minute forty-four second mark of the original video. But yeah, the audio is one take but the video isn't. Don't get me wrong, it blows my mind too, I'm simply clarifying.
@@ChrisLawton66 One take with three cameras at once. It could be one performance with multiple cameras and of course you must edit the video. That is how live sports is broadcasted also. They don't stop the game or ask the players to repeat what they did just to switch cameras. :) So what she meant was probably that he did one performance, not that they didn't edit the footage. But we can't know how many takes he did. He makes a point at the end of showing us that he is removing the microphones and that could be a trick to fool us to think it was recorded live. Who knows. Impressive none the less.

When REN released his new track Sick Boi, (after Hi Ren) he was in the comments of the TH-cam premiere.. someone asked him about it. He replied: ‘It was done in one take, but this was the fourth try at recording.’ Most of his tracks are one takes. He was formerly a street performer/busker so has the skills to pull it off.
I gathered a little background on Ren from his posts and an interview. His full name is Ren Eryn Gill. Ren pursued a career in music from an early age. In 2009, while studying music performance at Bath Spa University, he began to experience health issues and was struggling to attend his lectures. dealt with ME/CFS and a neuro illness for 30 years- if anything it makes one wise and a jedi- i have no musical talent but i do write books about my life for others in similar situations. i am grateful Ren can make such art from pain as that id a human experience that we all can relate to

@@JensRandolff i was in an environmental hospital all the way in Dallas many years ago (i am in NYC so had to fly there)and met a gulf war vet there who was very sick. i am so sorry. i have dealt with 30 years of this and i am very strong but I don't want to have to be so strong.

I've been following Ren for years since I found Children of the Moon. His back catalogue is vast and every single song is fantastic. He is also incredibly diverse in the style of music he creates. He's knocked Bowie off my 'best artist ever' spot. Ren's music really touches my soul

Never has music touched me so much since I discovered Ren. I have battled demons my whole life so to find an artist, and he is an artist, that sings about that battle it lifts me up, puts me in a better place and makes me think, yeah, life is worth living. Hi Ren was also done live, bro and it and and all the Tales are one takes/one shots - just with Hi Ren they had more than one camera - but eaxh time he's performing the whole thing - turning on the chair left and right to be goid Ren and bad Ren.
