Morning. A wind blows outside my window, a pattern has appeared on the glass from frost. The sunrise begins, snow and hoarfrost begin to sparkle. Divine picture! Smoke a cup of coffee and morning pipe with fragrant tobacco. The best thing at this time is to watch your next video. Nice music, useful information, everything is great! The mood is getting great! The desire to live further is growing! Thanks Jonathan! You give not only information, you give the energy of life !!! 👏👏👏👍🤝🙏

I had a strange 16 series. I started in 99, and I bought 2 Martins not knowing how famous they were. The second was, said inside, an SPD-16T. I played it 24 hours a day for 2.5 years. It was rosewood and spruce, diamonds and flowers, no neck binding. I bought it used, my first guitar for that much. I sold it, and went to find one a couple years later, but I couldn’t find one with the model name ending in “T”. I think I might have called and they said no, no “T”. They made “R” and a couple other limited 16’s. At the time anyway. I think it might have been because it had faux tortoise body binding. I was friendly with the shop owner who bought it, and he was deadest against my selling it. It was gone almost immediately. I never saw one again. But it sounded extraordinary, and I think anyone would be super happy with a 16 series guitar. Peace Jonathan, love the video this morning thanks!

Jonathan Koh thanks, good times, bad times, you know I’ve had my share🎼
The thing was the spruce top had vintage toner, but it had a huge amount of what they call “silking” I guess. Not just like bear claw. 3D looking depth of that silking figure to the grain. It was like a PRS artist grade top, and I never saw another like it. I guess I was just lucky to have it for a few years and maybe now a young person has it and loves it. ‘Sall good!

Hey Jon, terrific demonstration! I love to hear you on an acoustic - a rare treat. Perhaps I am biased because I have two Martins, but they have always been the perfect sound for me.
    Cheers - Matty K.

I bought this guitar in 2011. It's a really incredible sounding guitar for the money. I often wondered what the back of the neck was made of also/ web site says select hardwood?. I think it's Mahogany like you suggested. Anyway, after playing it and using a capo for several years the back of the neck has dents/cuts in it everywhere, the rest of the guitar is perfect. It could be from a thick lacquer finish on it, I really don't know at this point. I reached out to Martin but really didn't get any useful information from them. I need to get the back of the neck refinished. I've never had this problem with any other acoustic guitars that I own.

You might want to send it to a Luthier and see what he has to say ✌️❤️

@@JonIsJustTooLoud yes Johnathan, that's my next step thx. This guitar sounds better than when I first bought it. I keep it humidified perfectly over the years and yes it's been played a lot.

No responses yet...everyone must be out shopping! I'll have to check one of these out on my next trip to the guitar store. I'm still thinking of a Red Label Yamaha FX though.

Hello again, did you ever played a Harley Benton CLG 650 SM CE VS solid Wood Acoustic? I think, it's the nearest to a Martin or Taylor i can afford. Great pleasure to me, if i can hear your judgement about these Guitar. Have a good time this Weekend

Hallo wieder einmal - hope, you had a fine day. Oh, what a sound - virtously played, she shows her abilities like a bell; i closed my eyes and dreamed a picture of beautiful landscapes, wide range, all green. Unfortunally i can't spend 1400€ for that beauty, but she's worth every cent, i believe. But i'm looking for an acoustic i can afford ;-). Thank you for sharing, it helps to make a disission.
    Live long and prosper

Love the look of Rosewood. Not seen this model, only D35, which is more money I believe? Have you played a D35? How does it compare in sound and feel. When I retire from work, this model will be on my shortlist. Thanks Jonathan for this demo.
