Sorry about the first post guys and thanks for pointing out the raw footage. Been a busy week and sometimes I miss something like that when I am uploading late at night. 👍🤣

I have a ton of outdoor research gear, most of it is bomb proof, and it's held up the 15 year's.
That said the current OR stuff I've bought is absolute junk. However all the outdoor big companies have gone for trendy over function and ability.

      @@antonwearsakilt5209 that is so sad.

@@gideonstactical It's the reality mate. I've watched the outdoor companies go from serving hardcore back country enthusiasts in pursuit of adventures with real gear. To fashionable gear for campus or car camping adventures.
OR etc all have gone soft, and rely on designs from 40 year's ago.
Mother nature does not discriminate it'll kick your butt regardless of gender age etc. And going out into the backcountry with fashionable gear is not only dumb it can be life threatening.
I've spent many a night bivied on a side of a cliff,in freezing snowy weather. It's the gear and knowledge of how to use it that has kept me alive in 30 year's + of mountaineering. I've had several friends from Dan Osman to Alex Lowe die in the hills. Some from lack of knowledge to other's with crappy gear.
Every piece of kit I buy is used to it's fullest. And these particular outdoor companies that sell fluff today no longer get my $.
It's good to see you and the family have escaped the NWO of Colorado.
The next trick is to survive what is coming up in a very fast way.
I'd pit my older gear against anything most of these companies are selling today. It's a shame the youngsters don't have access to the same great gear we had even 20 years ago.
Sure one can find similar items from smaller mom and pop makers. However that's increasingly more difficult in today's landscape.
Lots of marketing wank might get the masses to take the juice, or buy a certain kit. I'm not easily fooled by such thing's.
I'll spend my $ at wiggys dmm PETZL KONG BONATI etc.
Good luck God Bless and God Speed to finding a location in the coming dark winter....

I think the 2022 version of the Ferrosi hooded jacket no longer has the front/side adjusters for the hood, but instead has a single rear adjuster. You can tell the 2022 version of the hooded jacket by the angled chest pocket zipper.

Thanks for talking about the sleeve length. Personally I'm happy the sleeves on this are shorter because I prefer that.

Love the Ferrosi Hoodie! One of my favorite lite jackets. You should take a look at Beyond Clothing too, I have a few pieces from them and its very nice, yet affordable.

I like mine; it was only $75 and it works well for my morning hikes and walks.
Plus side is it looks cooler to me than the hoodie

Ohhh man I was looking at this thing… thanks for the review... I love my Ferrosi Hoodies...... but i definitely still want the Helikon Tex Anorak

Just ordered a Ferrosi Anorak. I wanted a super lightweight shell for Midwestern spring snowboarding (many days hit 60°!) so was looking at the Ferrosi Hoodie but there was a massive sale and the anorak was $35... Too good to pass up. Hopefully works out okay. About sweat to death last year in my normal snowboarding shell 😂

I find the anoraks are hot and I like the ability to be able to unzip the jacket in the hoodie. I also like pit zips because I sweat alot which neither jacket has. I also have long arms and the hoodie fits me better.

I agree, the Ferrosi breaths so well. Doesn’t need pit zips.

That's a shame, on the basis of your reviews I bought the ferrosi hoodie last year - a totally awesome overlayer. I agree with your comments, the hood and ties allow a better fit, the fabric is great for keeping dry in a light shower - just throw it over a hoodie/long sleeve top and it's breathable in warmer weather. My version has the thumb holes which I appreciate, the fabric stretch and fit it perfect for me. Zips are an essential for any jacket - I wouldn't want a button close fastening.
Also, on the basis of other reviews I finally managed to get hold of a ferrosi grid jacket - the one with a bonded fleece inside it. IT'S AWESOME. I'm in the UK so had to pay a lot more for USA import on amazon (£140) , but totally worth it. The fabric is the same ferrosi fabric but feels a bit more durable - has great water repellent qualities - rain just beads off. The material is stretchy and comfortable, the hood fits well. There are the familiar 3 pockets (with zips!), although it could benefit from an internal pocket I feel. The fleece material is warm and non-obtrusive , temperature is starting to drop in the UK and I can still just pop out in a t-shirt underneath and feel snug and warm. A long-sleeve top and t-shirt underneath would be more than enough for a longer day walk.

Seems they tried making changes just to make it distinct from the original hoodie, but the changes were steps backwards…

The original sleeves were WAY too long because of those stupid thumb holes!!!
Really??? You're bitching about the hood?? Nobody...and I mean NOBODY will ever cinch down the hood...EVER.
I do agree with you on the side pockets though

Agreed with u I have all the versions in medium and I wear a hat with the hoods above treeline. No issues. Grid is my favorite. Outdoor research has weird sizing they are all different for some reason so maybe relax bro
