Is the Flipper Zero obsolete? or does it still pack some hidden functionalities that needs to be discovered. In this video I will highlight this topic. Do you think it is obsolete? Let me know in the comments below.

Saying the flipper is obselete is like saying a spoon is obsolete

What you just said makes no point at all :) What if the spoons design was old? You cant just say that .. :)

@secbydaniel exactly what you said, the flipper still serves it purpose because those protocols are being used in fiels

The hackrf is 10 years old, and the proxmark is 17 years old.
Both of these just got an update, as did the flipper. They are useful for as long as the technology is used.

      That’s not a fair comparison. :)

@secbydaniel I've given solid examples of old tech whose usefulness surpasses the flipper zero by many respects and are much older. Both are still being supported. Why is that not comparable?

@secbydaniel The FZ devs created the open source sub and IR file systems. Like c16, c32, and wav files, sub files will be useful for the foreseeable future.
RFID isn't going away either, so a device that can copy, emulate, and bruteforce these systems will always be useful to me.
The flipper will never be obsolete because other devices that do the same thing aren't. It will only be obsolete if RFID and subghz frequencies are no longer used. These technologies don't seem to be going out of style.

@@honestlocksmith5428you compare specialized units to a Swiss knife that does none good.

@secbydaniel They're all specialized tools. At the heart of the flipper is its open source subghz and open source IR file system. The hackrf uses the c16 format. The rfid capabilities of the flipper are exactly the same as any other rfid copier, if not better, as it can emulate as many tags as someone wants.
Would you mind explaining what functions are available in these specialized tools that should be available in a flipper? The hackrf had a much larger frequency range and is designed for audio and data radio frequencies. The Flipper is specialized to subghz frequencies and the subghz file system. Nothing else writes a .sub file. The same goes for its IR files. It's a completely new and open source system.
How can you claim it's obsolete after 2 years when other devices with similar capabilities are not?
The other functions you mentioned for wifi are not even core functions of the flipper and predate the flipper as well. None of these are outdated either.

Have you tried learning how to write your own code to make it do new things you need it to do?

@@secbydaniel What do you need it to do?
The thing is, most people who buy it haven't learned how it works. Or, they don't have a nees because they DON'T do any work with physical access security. They just kinda sit at home...
It's like an auto mechanic buying dental tools instead of wrenches.

@secbydaniel What makes it obsolete if it does what it's supposed to do? What should it do that it can't, in your opinion? What's the alternative to the Flipper that fits in my pocket?
