I didn't realize until recently that the King Harvest version of this song is the one we all fell in love with a few years before Orleans did it.
Love King Harvest's version! 1972, I was 12. It was all over AM radio.
Wells Kelly, Orleans' original drummer, was the brother of the guy who wrote this song and they were both in the original band that played this song and the one that made it famous.

Are these any of the original members?
Yes, two of them -- John Hall (the tall guy on the left of the screen) and Lance Hoppen (on the right, playing bass guitar) are the two remaining original members. The keyboard player in the back (Lane Hoppen) was with them as early as the 1980s but wasn't an original member. Trivia note--John Hall served several terms in Congress, then returned to music.
