      @Miko Worldwide I just read your comment, I left ATL earlier today. Have to be back in Detroit, then going down to Charlotte for a funeral in a week. I will probably head back to ATL then. We can try to think of an idea that can compliment both our styles since they so different, and see what happens. Pay that lady OG 22 Nine no mind, what does she know ? As a Residential General Contractor, I see and work in this environment daily. Some of the people are really nice, some others you can't trust at all. There are other parts of the "hood" that's slowly becoming better due to investors renovating and flipping houses and selling to homeowners that want to live closer to the city for convince. In 10-15 years, some of these neighborhoods won't look the same, thank God. As for the kids, I feel sorry for them because they are being raised in an environment created by the adults before them and who knows how the kids will turn out when this is the world they are exposed to daily. At the same time there are neighborhoods in Atlanta that are THE COMPLETE OPPOSITE of what's being shown in this video, very nice homes and the houses are owned by black people growing economically. But in the meantime, as a residential general contractor I'm trying to build and renovate homes that will beautify and city and provide expectational housing for potential homeowners.

    • @ArkOmen1
      @ArkOmen1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah but then you know what that gets called? They call that gentrification. You can't win.

    • @antwonnemccleskey8336
      @antwonnemccleskey8336 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@ArkOmen1 You're right. Some people do complain about gentrification, but it makes no sense to let a house sit and become a drug house, rodent infested and a place to dump trash. If it weren't for investors renovating these homes the whole city would be come a huge slum. It would make far more sense to create a community that is more family friendly and hopefully far less crime and drug infested. It also creates a environment that far more likely to attract small businesses and jobs for the people who want to work.

    As bad as this looks, Atlanta looked much worst 10 to 20 years ago. A lot of gentrification been going on in the city. Back in the day, everything under Ponce De Leon looked like they dropped a bomb on it. They started fixing up Atlanta when the Olympics came to town. They also tore down all the government projects. The first projects in the U.S. was in Atlanta, Techwood Homes.

    what is sad and makes me mad is that our neighbohoods do not have to look like this all you have to do is clean them up yourself and stop bragging about how bad things are, they are bad because you make them bad. I use to live in the so called hood and the people just do not seem to care enough about keeping things clean. you do not have to be rich to be clean.

      What I often think about is what has changed that made these once prosperous neighborhoods become less prosperous while the city around them grew at a staggering pace? It’s sad to see so many homes in disrepair and such a large number of people who either don’t have enough opportunities to better themselves, or have little desire to do so.
