Excellent reply. I hope so but as you know with most bands, they have 20+ years to make a first album and then usually a year to make their second. Even look how the Stone Roses and Oasis faded by album 2 or 3. In this day and age, why do bands even do albums? Just release songs on MP3 as they create them. The album concept (and concept album) format is dead. Even recording in studios is dated given the at-home technology. Who cares if the Doors recorded at that studio? The "vibe" is long gone.
This CD format I know not what you speak of. Isn't "digital" in your name? Download the album for $9.99. I may be old but even i have abandoned the tactile ages ago.
I take it all back. Just downloaded the new album. It's quite good and not depressing at all. To be honest this single "Observations" is probably the lamest song on the album. I just love "Sinking With The Sun," "Downtown," "You Hit Me,"...I could go on but I have to rush out and buy a tix to their concert Sept. 23 here now after hedging fro months.
Not my 1st rodeo, DAD. Been around since the punk '70s so...yeah, nothing wrong with evolving your sound but if the tunes aren't there, they aren't there. Since Lustx3 I have found the Raveonettes have fewer and fewer solid tunes and I am a HUGE fan having seen them live at least five times. Let's face facts Raven and Into the Night EP both sucked. Where were the hooks ?Listen to Suni in this video--depression means he was not in a good place. Hardly ideal situation to the creative process.
Bor and ing. What happened to the Raveonettes? It's like they entered an energy sucking vortex now. Come on! What a collosal tuneless drone! I want Echoes or Dead Sound back. Slow is fine but comatose sleepwalking ( now that was a great song!). Are you guys surrounded by yes men/women in the Rave camp? In serious need of someone to put the brakes on this direction in your music. I'm out after being around since Ghost Riders.
