I'm afraid that this song represents the history of Australia only. New Zealand has its own history of which it would be very proud. We are two separate countries, so having the same National Anthem that only represents one is quite unfair. I live just off a street called 'Billabong Drive'. Due to to horrific floods we've been enduring for far too long, we literally had a billabong next to this street. Every time I hear this song, it touches my soul and really tugs at my heart strings, more so lately due to what we're all going through due to this pandemic. We all need to stay strong, stand united, and let no one and nothing tear us apart. I am still proud to be Australian!

Such an amazing group, I knew one song they had sung that my mother hated because she didn’t like the movie “Georgie girl” but when I started listening to all their songs I was amazed with the harmony they had. I visited Perth & Fremantle, Western Australia in September of 1986 when I was on my final navy cruise. Had I would have moved my late wife of 31 years who was from the Philippines & our 3 children moved us to Australia, I would have chosen the greater Perth area because it reminded me so much of my home in the San Diego area. I was very much at home there.

I was born and raised Aussie, I've since moved to America and haven't been back in over 4 years. After watching and listening to this I cried and have felt more homesick then I ever have since moving to America. Today is Saturday, August 3, 2019. I'd never listened to this song until the first of this week. I've been seeing "thumbnails" for it on TH-cam for quite some time, but I've never clipped on any of them until around the first of this week. I don't know why I never have clipped on them; but I just never have been curious about them. But around the first of this week, I said to myself, "Oh what the hell?" I'd just never been curious about clicking on any of them. I'd never heard the song before. Well, around the first of this week, like I said earlier, "What the hell?" And I clicked on one of these thumbnails for this song. Personally, I believe this should be Australia's National Anthem. I believe that if enough of the people of Australia want this song to be there National Anthem, they can get it done. I've always loved Waltzing Matilda" and still do, but I think this beats "Waltzing Matilda". I've already listened to this song at least a dozen times this week. I just love this song.

Funny, I left Liverpool for Australia in 69 with every intention of going back. Done every job under the sun mostly in the bush in western nsw often with only daggy roos and lizards for company. Strange coincidence. When I was 24 year old I had all documents ready for leaving Italy forever and start a new adventure in Australia. In my mind it was already my new Country , but my father died and the family asked me to stay with my mother.... I'm 69 now and I know that it wasn't the right decision. I spent some years in the States but I never left Italy forever. The funny think is that following Neil Diamond career on newspapers , television and networks I find as my favorite website just you and after few time I realized you are Australian...... The past come back.

My father left Italy for my mother when he was 22. He went to New Zealand and now we have lived in Australia for 15 years. You did a good thing for your family, he was the only one who left, his home town is Massafra in Puglia. You're Australian if you have it in your heart. It's not like NZ or America it is such a different place

I'm afraid that this song represents the history of Australia only. New Zealand has its own history of which it would be very proud. I live just off a street called 'Billabong Drive'. Due to to horrific floods we've been enduring for far too long, we literally had a billabong next to this street. Although, it was large enough to be called a lake! Luckily, most of it has dried up, but understand the naming of this street now. I also saw Neil Diamond when he returned to Australia after such a long break back in the 90's. A most wonderful experience!💖

I visited Perth & Fremantle, Western Australia in September of 1986 when I was on my final navy cruise. Had I would have moved my late wife of 31 years who was from the Philippines & our 3 children moved us to Australia, I would have chosen the greater Perth area because it reminded me so much of my home in the San Diego area. I was very much at home there.

I was born and raised Aussie, I've since moved to America and haven't been back in over 4 years. Today is Saturday, August 3, 2019. I'd never listened to this song until the first of this week. I've been seeing "thumbnails" for it on TH-cam for quite some time, but I've never clipped on any of them until around the first of this week. I don't know why I never have clipped on them; but I just never have been curious about them. But around the first of this week, I said to myself, "Oh what the hell?" I'd just never been curious about clicking on any of them. I'd never heard the song before.
Well, around the first of this week, like I said earlier, "What the hell?" And I clicked on one of these thumbnails for this song. Personally, I believe this should be Australia's National Anthem. I believe that if enough of the people of Australia want this song to be there National Anthem, they can get it done. I've always loved Waltzing Matilda" and still do, but I think this beats "Waltzing Matilda". I've already listened to this song at least a dozen times this week. I just love this song.

Funny, I left Liverpool for Australia in 69 with every intention of going back. Done every job under the sun mostly in the bush in western nsw often with only daggy roos and lizards for company. Half a centuty, three wives, six kids and ten grand children later I keep telling myself I'll go back soon. Hear they've joined the Common Market.

Strange coincidence. When I was 24 year old I had all documents ready for leaving Italy forever and start a new adventure in Australia. In my mind it was already my new Country , but my father died and the family asked me to stay with my mother.... I'm 69 now and I know that it wasn't the right decision. I spent some years in the States but I never left Italy forever. The funny think is that following Neil Diamond career on newspapers , television and networks I find as my favorite website just you and after few time I realized you are Australian...... The past come back.

@@NeilDiamondCentral I had some friends in Hobart but the idea was to move on the continent later. About the Seekers I discovered them late but I like their music is easy and relaxing.
My father left Italy for my mother when he was 22. He went to New Zealand and now we have lived in Australia for 15 years. You did a good thing for your family, he was the only one who left, his home town is Massafra in Puglia. You're Australian if you have it in your heart. It's not like NZ or America it is such a different place
