@@Toralian89 Not really, had nothing to do with Abysses but everything to do with Wildwood juice. Abysses were just one of the better League mechanics at pumping out extra monsters. I got two mirrors last league and I farmed Legion + Strongboxes with heavy MF.
Dont wanna ruin your experience, but they silence nerfed it around a month into the league, 500 would have been enough even if unlucky around the first month, now you need around 2000, Somone did a run with 1k mf and 1k non mf on reddit, and it doesn't make a difference for harby, and with the nerfs of alc and go maps, it's not worth doing mf without a solid strategy, just a waste of time
Got a mirror shard explosion within 200 maps (28 shards, no full stack conversion) but I didn't realize how lucky I was until I saw Jim's video. I swapped out the lucky shard scarab for +3 harbingers and my maps felt waaay better for t17 map drops, additional deli rewards, more beyond spawners, etc. though I didn't see a double mirror shard drop until 300 maps later. Lots of fracturing shards though, two shard stacks every other map. Dumb luck at the end of the day. Loved the editing btw.
2000 hours, 1 hinekoras lock, 2 7 years back luck, 1 brothers gift, 1 doctor. the moment one of these dropped for me, nothing else dropped in that league
Soo i did around 800 maps, around 250-300 i droped the scarab with single item drop, and continued with extra harb. Loot was much better, you earn more cash with annul/chaos and fracture orbs. On average, in 20 maps cycle, you get 4-6 fracturing shards, 28-32 annuls, 50-60c and 10-12exalts. Around 4div an hour just from harbs, not counting random drops.
I tried this and realized its a mistake. Idk how the harbi scarab of discernment, but I presume it converts all shards dropped from the harbinger into one of the types that dropped. That means even if a mirror shard was to drop it may get converted into one of the cheaper types. Using that scarab essentially makes the game even more rng, as getting a mirror shard might be 1/1000 chance and getting all other shards to convert into that type may be another 1/1000 chance. You are better off getting just a single (or double) mirror shard now and then.
I dropped a mirror shard from an harbinger that converted into a mirror begin of 3.25 with new changes. Really rare chance to convert it into an orb. Sadly cuz of that i couldn't get mirror shard explosion since i fully scaled harby on tree + used each scarab version. Was my 2nd mirror drop in total of 13k hours. First drop was somewhere when i had 4k hours from an random abyss chest lol.

So I just tried every orb I had on any item just to see what it does. I used my mirror on low level 2H rare axe and was like: "And that's it? Pff. Yellow-face-thing is so much better".

I quit the league early so didn't do any comprehensive science. But I kinda feel like the Harbinger scarab that makes it so you only get one type of shard is a bait. Profits just feel way more consistent without it and I think just adding +3 Harbingers to a map might be more profitable than the "higher chance for high value currency shards" you get from the Scarab. If you want a pure Mirror drop you definitely need the scarab though since you need to drop shards to procc the full mirror from your atlas. But think you need to expect to run like 3k + maps then x) Would be interesting to see some science on the profitability when not running that scarab.
im 1800 hours into poe i was doing strongboxes exclusively this league and duped a mirror, my buddy is at 10k hours with 1 drop so my reaction was pretty wild to say the least
i run a MF toon on standard 175 Quant 150 rarity.. did Harbies strat..at least 2k so far.. no mirror shard drop.. and only 2 Fracturing explodes.. my buddy did Harbies casual.. got 1 Mirror shard.. go figure.. and yes i know MF does not effect Harbie loot drop.. but i like to think it does :) oh one more thing.. been playing POE since 2013 and have close to 13k hours played.. no Mirror drop.. so dont feel so bad lol..

got my second one in affliction on a hyper juiced 8 mod map spent 6 portals just trying to pick it up. gave my last one to the best player in general chat he spent a total of 3 seconds in the map before dying.

I would say 99% of all players never droped even a shard, i dont even want to speak about a Mirror. I have over 20k hours played and also never seen any of these items, my best was 2 Magebloods from Gwenn in one Day :D (not a real drop but i count it ^^).
I was doing 144 maps with essences(non boss strat) and made rougly 250d alone with the essences. And there were so many einhar drops, some good scarabs etc. But tldr, I really hope they get to nerf some too strong strats and buff others in the meantime. Meta getting so boring
That’s why they are called Garbingers. You literally have more chances to drop a mirror doing any other mechanic than this shit. I’m on a guild and so NO ONE dropping a mirror shards/mirrors with the Garbingers. All mirrors dropped either from B2B T17 barrels or strongboxes for a large majority of the guild.
See the trick was to just abuse affliction magic find to fix that no mirror drop :D I sold my soul that league and did the mf stuff for 3 weeks and dropped 2 mirrors and overall my main build was worth over 6k div at that point. I to this day somewhat feel that these mirrors do not count but hey.. :D Atleast now I can say I dropped a mirror, was the final "achievement" that was missing for me
harbi farm in atlas is completely pointless. harbinger memory drops are insane when you are mf geared, tested it in affliction and got on average almost 1 fract orb per map. the only downside is that you do not get any loot aside currency shards

Wow actually got so many fracture orbs in just 500 maps, I did also 500 and didnt get jack shit not even sustain chaos costs most stuff got converted to insanly rare engineering orbs and alterations with 8 mod maps 120% quant each. But why do I even complain I cant even get an ashes in 200 eater runs so I guess its still expected drops.
Ashes drops from uber eater now and is one the 2 common drops from uber eater (33%ashes, 65% ravenous and 2% nimis), so you must run normal eater or not had it on your loot filter... with that in mind you prolly fucked up on the harby strat aswell, not everything comes down to luck, more often then not its the lack knowledge thats a problem.
4.5k hours, dropped mirror this league, in alch and go map in group self found hard core league... most disappointing mirror drop. What am I gonna mirror, ssf garbage weapon? oh, I can migrate it... to normal hc.
best drop i ever got in 3k hours was a 1 passive voices from spamming simulacrum when it was little better, the thing thou is i kill my mood to play more that league, simulacrums are boring as fuck.

I haven’t kept track but I have 5200 annul orbs, 500 exalts and 70 frac orbs….0 mirror shards…I’ve done a TON of harbinger this league
