thanks for making this. always a big help. one day, can we see your process on what you would do with the track after printing like this? I'm struggling in that department and de essing
Sky, if you get the right tone in tracking itself.. there'd be no room for mixing Is that a good thing or bad? How do you approach it Edit: 7:52 i think i got my answer.. Changed my whole mindset 💯🤯
I mean back in the day they recorded it in correctly because it was going to tape vs the digital way we do now. But tracking through the gear makes the vocal like 80% done so the mixing is pretty much for the persons taste. It’s a reason why all the pro engineers ppl look up to tend to not do a lot in their sessions
@@SKYJORDXN it's 5am In the morning. This is the first video I saw, and omg bro You casually dropped the biggest gem 💎 of all time I'm shaking rn.. Can't wait to get apollo twin and get started with tracking method someday XD Can't thank you enough 🙏
bro i always have lag when im hearing my voice through my headphones on bandlab on the browser (phone works fine) , it has latency.... but on fl studio it works fine , 0 latency. im not sure what setting i have wrong but i cant fix it , and when i try to do a latency test it just tells me its not working. any idea what it could be bro? i have an interface and xlr mic so idk why it happens i shouldnt have any delay
@optimisum7807 it’s nothing to do with that. The online version has latency issues for some people. I talk to the ppl behind the company on the regular basis
It depends, there’s not a correct or wrong answer. Just gotta go by your ear/taste because in this video I’m using a usb mic and if I was using one of my studio mics it would be a complete different sound and settings would be different
man i love UAD plugins but damn they make my shit lag for some reason. and i don't have a cheap computer, i do have a focusrite 2i2. maybe the interface cant handle it or maybe the plugins are just coded bad, idk.
Since you have a focusrite, I’d assume you’re using the UAD native plugins. They’d be running on your CPU, independent of your interface, so the lagging would be an issue of your computer not processing the audio fast enough. Try increasing your buffer during the mixing stage (after you’re done recording), that could potentially fix the problem by giving your computer more time to process the audio
@novarx tbh I think the plug-ins are just coded bad for Windows users. I have a ryzen 9 16-core processor and 64 gbs of ram. I think that's overkill for just a couple of plug-ins. Maybe I need to update drivers, that or its the interface. Yeah, I increase the buffer when I mix and the problem goes away, but I like to record with the vocal chain.
You can use the neve 1073 natively because I’m using a usb mic without an interface in the video but kit plugins has a neve1073, mixbox has a 1073, slate digital has a 1073,
I’ve always said this… performance from the gate is everything!!!
Without the performance = waste of time

I can do that
I know Antelope Audio gerts a lot of shit, but I found a cool middle ground using their Zen Q interface and made a solid tracking chain.
I haven’t had a chance to try out the plugins yet

Question is it necessary to use analog plugins on ur adlibs if you use analog or your main vocals
Not necessary but if you’re in a studio with analog gear they’d be going though the analog but it’s up to you

It's prly a problem In bandlab so idk check the settings
Bandlab lags for some people online it’s pretty much hit or miss on computer.
Change your browser bro
it’s probably the buffer length but idk if bandlab has that setting

You too Real Sky Luv ya Content !
When u say light compression how many dbs of gain reduction on both compressors ? Cuz I see u used the 1176 an the 2A

If it’s not broke don’t fix it 😂 the Neve has been a staple in hip hop
bro was on his don trip and starlito flow lol
Haha they don’t know bout that 😂
Can you make a video for Bandlab vocals?
When u record in logic the effects doesn't print tho??
They do when you have it set up to do so

Sky i have a cheap mic (rode) a good interface(apollo) and a bad recording room , where i should invest ?
The room
Cheap doesn't always mean bad, what mic?
@xavierotb it’s in parentheses
@@SKYJORDXN yeah ik i was just wondering what mic he had, room is more important than mic
@xavierotb yeah it’s prolly the nta one. I’m not too familiar with rode mics , might have to cop one and try it
I also use a snow ball lol
another logic video, lessgo

u payed 100$ for the neve 1073??
