Living overseas but planning to return. Thank you for this. Wishing for my country of birth to rise like a Phoenix and be heaven on earth for all her citizens. Thank you for these videos.
Slowly but surely Jozi will be great again and it will be worth equally the same as Sandton or even more because of these CIDs. The best thing to do now is invest in it and in the next 20 years the returns will be great. As a Joburger myself I especially love chilling around that precinct.
Wow. I used to work at SARS in Rissik street not too far from Gandhi Square in the early 2000s. It wasnt so bad at that time but great to see it looking even better. I always loved Jhb central. The nostalgia is on another level and the potential to become World Class is hair raising. Hoping to see it all restored, cleaned, of all grime and vagrants, and keep it that way. ❤
great content again Dave. I like the concept of CIDs I wish they can expand them allover the CBD. I think this will be the quickest way of reviving Jozi on a larger scale. Thanks once again.
OMG - so many fond memories of this place! Then it was known as Van der Bijl square. I am overjoyed - it will certainly have an honorable mention in my memoirs that i am currently working on. Love this!
@ Getty Tshiketa The DA started the process of rejuvenating the JHB CBD in 2016 by reclaiming buildings that had been hijacked by slumlords for their own personal gain. The new DA administration (2021) under Dr Mpho Phalatse will continue with this rejuvenation of the inner city...
So y'all gonna give ANC a credit , really ? this is the work of DA mayor not ANC🚮 . Everything that ANC touch it's in ruin . SA can be so much better without ANC , facts .
@@top-gnews8333 Mashaba, as DA mayor at the time, was acting in accordance with the DA's plans and vision for JHB. Mashaba was definitely not expelled by the DA for anything or any reason, he chose of his own accord to resign and start his own party.

Good to see Jo’burg clean again. Hope the crime combatting effort will be a success. Once people feel safe and law and order are restored, Jo’burg will be the jewel it always was.
This is ridiculous because people are using paper billboards instead of electronic billboards I wish I could turn the city of trash aka the streets into a clean South African New York city
Gandhi had nothing to do with these buses LOL...he was thrown off the train somewhere in the Karoo LOL...put the Gandhi Square in the right place...go to the place where they threw him off the train and name it GANDHI SQUARE lol....Van der Bijl had nothing to do with buses either...just call it Crook-corner or Robber-square lol, its where you catch the buses after the crooks have mugged you lol...

Can Ghandi Square be turned into something like Time Square in New York?

Thanks Dave,
Another great video!
It's amazing the positive changes since I was last there in 2018. It's almost unrecognisable! Can't wait to return!
Thank you for trying to bring back Joburg to it's glorious years . I can still remember walking down Eloff street in the late 80"s. 👏👏👏
gandhi square was vanderbjil square back then still remember the trolleybusses departing there 😀
Our Goverment has done a lot of improvement in the CBD, great to see things getting better

This is very beautiful 😍. Thanks for showing this to us x
Old CBD city design is very pedestrian friendly… unlike Sandton - designed for cars and cars only. Hardly see anyone walking on the streets
Basically Looking To Imploded Every Building That Was Constructed Before 1980s' Redeveloping Them In SUPINGSTAD RSA = SUPER CITY ,RSA
True. a lot of buildings in the CBD need to go, especially those brutalist and commieblock designs
thanks my guy for your amazing videos.
keep up the good work🙌
It looks beautiful
This is beautiful 🔥
Gr8 content as always
I can see the JMPD be very vigilant talking to each other and playing with their phone.
Thanx to DA Government for fixing JHB after ANC mess.
Do you have any footage of rissik street post office?
It looks rather good!
