    I use a Lincoln 3350. I weld 8-10 hours a day. Bang for the buck, the Lincoln can’t be beat. The colors and clarity of the lens are amazing.

      Haha , I have the Lincoln 3350 and it's heavy not to clear either, if you want even more clarity check out the optrel crystal 2.0 , it's light weight and it's like looking on a window before you weld .

      Just had my Lincoln for 2 weeks now and love it. Head gear is very comfortable and the view is amazing. I love the analog controls for the helmet over the digital controls shown for the Miller, much faster to adjust IMO. Be sure you read the instructions on the Lincoln before you use it. Like on the grind button, one has to hold it down for 3 sec to engage it, and another 3 second to disengage it. It flashes a small green light inside the helmet when its effective.

      Watch the headgear, mine likes to rip my hair off everytime I take the hood off.

    The Lincoln 3350 4C is 21oz and the T94 is 21.1oz. basically the same weight. The Lincoln DOES have grind mode as well, just not on the outside. Great video! Thanks for taking the time to share with us!

      My Lincoln has a grind mode button on the outside. Maybe it was a change over the years.

    Speaking on the
    Eyes-scream...
    You may want to consider using a light meter to test the difference between the light hitting your eyes (the meter for the test),
    without the cheater lens, then
    measure the difference with the cheater lens,
    to find out how much more light is being
    MAGNIFIED
    into your eyes, causing the fatigue, and make sure you are adjusting your helmet settings accordingly to protect your eyes.
    Thank you again for making the video, stay blessed, and stay safe~

    • @arthurad2007
      @arthurad2007  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, it must be the magnification. Nonetheless for some reason I can weld longer with the miller. Cheers!

    Thanks for a great video. I'm welding down in the Sonoran Desert where your beer gets warm really fast and the steel stays hot for a long time after welding/grinding. I think I'll go with the Miller. My Viking 2450 battery just went down and the new cassette is the same price as a helmet. Miller is probably just as bad about parts but I'm mad at Lincoln right now

    lol that indeed is a cold shop. On the bright side, you can let a can of beer sit out and after welding, quench your thirst with a cold one, no refrigerator necessary :) Thanks for uploading this, I might check out some Miller units (although the Viking one was mentioned by another person in the comments, guess I'll check that one out too).

      Yes, it's important for me. Thus far the Miller Truesite lens is the only one that does not give me eye fatigue. I also have a $300 Philips Safety passive lens (supposedly one off the best) and I get eye fatigue with it. I think the 3350 is letting in some light my eyes don't like . I can feel it after 5 seconds when lit-up on aluminum. It is probably just me. Hope this helps. Cheers!

    • @bdhd206
      @bdhd206 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good to know between the two, my eyes tire easily, not to hard living CO over 5k feet. I've been leaning toward the 3350 because it has a faster auto darkening reaction time (1/25,000), best I've found on any hood.

      That's exactly what I thought. With the 3350 I even started to shut my eyes just before starting the arc. That didn't help. It turned out to not be the reaction time. It's what passes through that lens. The 3350 is letting in a wavelength of light that my eyes just can't take. I think it's at the edge of clarity and eye comfort. Besides the lenses are so pose to block UV and IR in the light state no matter. Hence reaction time is not as important as people make it out to be.

      Miller clearlight lens is really clear. You can also see more colour with the clearlight. I don’t see a difference in clarity between the two. Something about that Lincoln lens bothers my eyes. Maybe it’s the more blue hue. Hope that helps.

      It varies depending on where you live. In Canada the T94 is about CDN $600. Pricy but I still have not found a better lens than the clearlight. I think you can now get that lens in other Miller helmets. Thanks for watching! Cheers!

    Any thoughts on the. Jackson Truesight ll?

    • @arthurad2007
      @arthurad2007  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jeff S.
      I didn't have a chance to try the Jackson BH3 yet. I have read that the lens is on par with the Viking 4c. Miller is the late comer to the true colour lens technology with their truesight lens. I find that the view through the true sight lenses is indiscernible between brands. For me It comes down to how long can I weld and not get eye fatigue. I will get eye fatigue on a sunny day with a snow cover. So far with the Viking I would say 2 min steady welding and I am done. With the Miller maybe 10 min. (Than a day or so to recover) That said, even 2 min steady welding is like 5 feet of weld. Hence for hobby guy that is more than enough even with sensitive eyes like mine. For a professional I would go wit the Truesight lens hands down. I wonder myself how long I would be able to weld with the Jackson. If I get my hands on one I will make a video. Cheers!

    • @mattbierwagen8442

      My opinion has been is that speedglass is far superior and that's why everyone is going to try to copy them now!! I will admit speedglass is more expensive but is worth every penny!! I still have my first speedglass I purchased in 1999 and it works like it did when it was new and I still use it when I dont want to possibly damage one of my newer speedglass helmets for a nasty job!!

      It's also possible... I now blink every time I start an ark. I think it has to do with the blue wavelength of the 3350. The miller is a bit more green. As green light is more visible to our eyes I can set a darker shade and still see what I am doing.

    Millers t94 has very poor neck protection and the headgear is cheap! I would buy the 3350 any day of the week! And Lincolns 4c is much clearer then miller clearlight !

    • @arthurad2007
      @arthurad2007  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      lucas brideau, I still prefer the Miller. I get eye fatigue when welding with the 3350. The greenish lens hue of the Miller our eyes naturally see better. Hence I can weld at a darker setting. Say 12 instead 11 and still see the paddle. The shorter neck design is so it doesn’t hit you in the neck when it comes down. I guess we all have our preferences :-)).

    *The large viewing area is very nice⛑️ **allabout.wiki/Grinding** I have an older Miller helmet, also, that has a large viewing area. This new helmet has an even larger viewing area, is more transparent in grinding mode, and is much less expensive. Since I have not used it extensively, I can't comment on its reliability.*
