Hi Susie, Yes, you can. Scrape it down while it is wet, that would be easier. If it's dry, you can always scrape it further to get the ridges out, but if you sand it, do so with a mask and outdoors. The dust can be very bad for you. Then gesso over it and you're all set!
@@JessicaHenry Thank you so much! I am enjoying being outside to paint! Completely different feel to things, and so enjoyable. Thanks again for your encouragement! Susie
Great tips! I was really watching how you hold the brush and how you lay the paint down in this study. I need to practice this more, and I need to think and paint more abstract when I am out there plein air painting myself. I think those few things would help me accomplish the look and feel of the impressionism that I want to get. Also I forget to squint...I wear glasses, so I wonder if I just tried taking them off and painting "blindly" would help!? Thank you so much!
enjoy learning techniques, helps so much when you show subject along side study/painting
I think that you explain so goog how we can paint in plein air. Thank you. I learned a lot.
Marvelous ;-)
love the light and shadow play, very nice brushwork
Awesome, started this one, we will see how it goes. Can I gesso over it and use canvas more than once??? Thanks, Susie

Love your ability to talk through what you are thinking. It helps so much to know the why behind the how. Thank you!
Intrest full, lovely.
Nice video and perfect camera work. Thanks

Wonderful, Jenny! Thank you!
That's so interesting Jess. I was doing a similar scene in England UK just last week. Wish I could post it here.
You can send me an email! I'd be happy to see it jessiehenry1375@outlook.com

Yep! taking your glasses off is a technique used by many! As long as it doesn't hurt after a while.
Beautiful
Love this one! I have the most difficult time getting green values correct.
Très joli vraiment très bien réalisé, mais comment as tu fait ce beige pour le chemin?
Each painting is a neat visual training. The sound of the trucks and katydids seems like helps to keep my focus.
Keep going!
I'm nosy.. what was that guy doing toward the end just standing right on your "path"?
I never know! Haha! Believe it or not, I seldom notice people while I'm painting, It's usually while editing that I see the background people.
