Jovana K In everything except powers, yes. I never thought of them in this way until I started watching interviews with Rob, he really *gets* his characters. That’s why his performances are so brilliant!
oh they aren't the acting is the same and many things he does could be thrown into a misfits compilation , u know what's actually opposites? comic book Klaus and series Klaus, even he knows after reading the comic books.
I don’t know if this is right, but I saw the dance sequence as a way of showcasing each of their personalities. Luther is very awkward and clumsy; Allison is a great dancer, mirroring how her public life has been successful; Diego usually pretends to be so cool and hard, but forgets to pretend when he’s alone; Klaus is hugging their father’s urn, foreshadowing that he will embrace his powers over the dead in the end; Vanya is barely moving, as if even in this she is “imprisoned” by both Allison’s rumour and her medication. Anyway, that might not be what they intended, but that’s what I saw.
Melissa .Garrett I agree with your analysis. Moreover, I saw it as a very good metaphore of how lonely they feel and how strained their family relationships are, because they are all dancing to the same music (a song that reminds them of their childhood, of better, happier times) but each on his/her own, in a different room of their house.
Laura Ayo I like this, it adds another dimension to it! I’m thinking TUA is one of those shows that is very carefully plotted and written, with foreshadowing and easter eggs all over . . . which means I’m going to have to keep watching it to find them all. 😜
Melissa .Garrett Absolutely! I find it very intriguing and well written too and I can't wait to watch the second season! 😃 Besides, Robert is an amazing actor and I really love his interpretation of Klaus' character... ❤
yes to all of that!! and i think doing it in a weird dance sequence was sort of a tone-setting device for the show - we're going to take these characters seriously, but we're not necessarily going to take the vessel through which we learn about them seriously.
They each think that they are alone, struggling against each other and their difficult past, expressing their individuality through dancing like nobody is watching, but ironically they are all sharing the same dance moment, on the same underlying wavelength, bound together on a deeper level, be it through love, instinct, spirit, perhaps destiny.
I love to listen to the interview with Robert. How he collects words, the way of telling, his humor, and how seriously and intelligently can talk. A wonderful actor and an incredibly interesting person.
You know that Aidan's just been hit with the gigglies everytime Robert said that because the final take they stuck with, you can still tell he's trying to hold back laughter, playing it off as if he's looking at the sun
I love how in depth he goes about his character. The journey Klaus takes over the course of the season is so fascinating, and I'm so glad Rob seems to be so invested in it.
There was a tv show in Ireland about 10 years ago called The Clinic. Most Irish actors were probably in it at some stage, Robert and Saoirse certainly were.

there's a theory about how Klaus stayed with Dave during the war, and how The Commission's purpose entirely is to prevent and/ or cause events in order for specific things to happen. Klaus likely wasn't meant to stay in that time era, and to get him back to his own time, The Commission killed Dave. I want to see some drama between Klaus and The Commission 👀
i love the fact hes mentioning nathan misfits cause its kiinda comparable to klaus but i think he does love that character because it was so fun to play and hes personality on onscreen is so entertaining thats why his characters look so natural
This interviewer isn't the greatest...he stumbles over words and can barely pronounce his questions, but he's incredibly lucky to have someone so smooth talking and genuinely charming as Robert because it makes this whole interview feel very relaxed and like a natural conversation. It's wonderful. Even a cynic like me can find the sunshine in the clouds...his name is Robert. 🖤
I’m glad he said he doesn’t understand the dance scene because I agree. It takes you out of the moment and feels disjointed to the episode. It’s really cool and beautifully shot but it doesn’t really accomplish much for me. Most people disagree so it’s nice to see Robert feels the same way.
That's interesting, I was actually slightly sad he thought that, I think it's just a great way to channel feeling and a specific mood into the show, it sort of gives the characters a bit of eccentricism., but that's just my opinion I guess. although I really like the way Robert expresses his views on it all.
Mercedes Mercado I always thought is was supposed to help us see the characters, if you know what I’m saying. Like how body language tells how you’re feeling. Klaus dances in a loose, flowing way, so I interpreted that as “oh, so he’s free-flowing. He goes with the flow and doesn’t have much of a plan”. As contrast to Luther, who dances cautiously at the beginning but when loose, he ends up destroying his plane on the roof. I saw that and thought, “Oh, he restrains himself at first, as if he’s afraid of being without his father or instruction”. Maybe I overreacted about it, but I thought the dancing scene was about first impressions, and while disjointed from the show itself, was meant to break the fourth wall in a way and show the audience what everyone’s like and leave personality up to interpretation. (Sorry for rambling on..)
The longer I watch this the more I realize how much he's grown up and experienced and learned over the years, he's really in no way that kid he used to be on Misfits anymore. It's really fascinating to see.
I can see why Robert wanted to make Klaus and Nathan as different as possible and honestly beneath the surface they couldn’t be more different. Klaus is hyper sensitive and emotional whereas Nathan isn’t, Nathan projects himself onto other people (bullying/teasing/making a scene) whereas Klaus internalizes his feelings (gets quieter when he’s sad/uses drugs/etc), and like Robert said Nathan doesn’t progress much as a character but Klaus’s personality is so much more malleable and complex that you really see his progression, and his unravel of layers so to speak, throughout the season. Only Robert could have perfectly shown the audience that distinction so bravo good sir
Robert Sheehan has obviously put so much thought in Klaus and his background. When you watch the show it comes off as an effortless, fantastic performance, but this just really shows how much time and consideration he put into making that.
I really love the fact that Robert always goes deep in his analysis it’s very interesting ! I love to hear him talk, he took time to explain things as much as he can. Also I agree people are so harsh at Luther, try to understand him and his psychology before hating on him. Also the interview was really cool ! It was like a friendly talk, very chill. Love it 👏🏻
I think the dance scene wonderfully illustrates how the children are all going through the same experience but are isolated from each other. They can not see of be seen, by each other, but they should because they are going through the same thing.

What I love so much about this man, is that he doesn't play by the rules of social norms or structures. a lot of people, especially in interviews, but also just socially, they all act the same. Like there is a script you must follow, and being told how to sit and talk bla bla bla... Rob doesn't play by that. I almost feel like he is like me in ONE way... where I can spot fakeness and intention in people, and i don't react in a way people expect or want.
