About the Enneagram Personality Test: The Enneagram is a personality typing system that consists of nine different types (or "enneatypes", "ennea" means "nine"): 1. The Reformer, 2. The Helper, 3. The Achiever, 4. The Individualist, 5. The Investigator, 6. The Loyalist, 7. The Enthusiast, 8. The Challenger, and 9. The Peacemaker. Everyone is considered to be one single type, although one can have traits belonging to other ones. While it's uncertain whether this type is genetically determined, many believe it is already in place at birth.

What Robert said at around 17:50 is completely valid for all self report psychological questionnaieres and scales. The results are based on your subjective point of view. Also social desirability is a great methodological issue, when people are filling a test, they tend to answer what is closer to the norms of that given society.

thanks for introducing me to this test it's so interesting, I took it and it feels like someone's just opened up my head and written a description of what they saw there
7, 1, and 4 are actually tied to one another !!! 7’s take on traits of 1’s when stressed and 4’s in joy/ease. 1’s take on traits of 7’s in joy, and traits of 4 in stress. And I heard an interesting theory about these sorts of ties in the enneagram, where the number you go to in joy/ease is like your inner child. So every rigid, critical, perfectionist 1 type has a young little 7 in them who’s just bubbling over with enthusiasm!! Every 7, bouncing from one thing to the next seeking the newest most exciting experience (and therefore struggling to really live in the moment, and “feel” their feelings) has a sensitive 4 inside them that is so deeply affected by everything in their present moment that they could stay there forever. Also, Sleeping At Last the musical artist has an entire album dedicated to the enneagrams. I always tested high on 1, 7, 8, and 3, and listening to the respective songs on that album made me feel so seen and resonant-especially 8, 1, and 7!! Also loved hearing all of the “gut” talk bc 1, 9, and 8 are all gut types ♥️♥️♥️
I did a bit on personality types during my degree. I found this episode really interesting. I love listening to these podcasts while I work.

Loved this episode! I took this test a couple of years ago and I'm a 5 (Investigator). Also, I found interesting that each of the personalities can be at their best or their worst towards other types. For example, Type 1 at their best has to go towards Type 7 characteristics and avoid Type 4's; 7 has to avoid Type 1 characteristics and go towards 5's, and so on.
I found the test very helpful to avoid most of our bad habits or to understand us and other people better. Jobs should definitely apply this before hiring someone, so they know what motivates them and how to understand their coworkers better!
The " The giver...Ladies" and "That was brilliantly Irish" made me laugh out loud ahah
This test is really interesting! I shared it to a few friends and it's really GREAT to shave the results.i've done it on a another website which gaves more informations ( défense mechanism, when u're in a good-bad mood etc) , really useful!
It would nice to have a picture of the three hosts on the thumnail, so it would be more representative of the podcast, which contaisn three différents persons with 3 différents and interesting insights!

I actually just took the test and got Peacemaker, Investigator, and Enthusiast as my top 3. To be honest, I don't really see myself as an investigator, but it was pretty cool. Thanks for the podcast guys!

I've seen a lot of comments suggesting an episode with MBTI types, but I'd be really interested in seeing you all take the Cliffton Strengths test. I feel like Rob would score really high on Input, based on the amount of random knowledge he has rattling around in his head, and his ability to randomly quote Wilde and other poets all the time.
Also can I just say I'd LOVE to see both an episode with Tom's and Rob's parents, and an episode with TUA fans (which I would obviously volunteer myself for, having been a ride or die fan since the first comic dropped)
If you guys are serious about wanting to bring in a gifted medium, I can highly recommend someone. Best medium I have ever seen work in 30+ years.

4 Individualist 98% with 6, 5 and 2 in the 80s. It's interesting to open the types up fully and read the healthy/unhealthy levels. I definitely identify with these, unfortunately a lot of it is due to anxiety/depression developed from never feeling secure/safe growing up. Years ago my college tutor told me there's nothing wrong with being a bit melancholy and I'll never forget that.

I took the test twice and I am 99% type 2 HELPER (or GIVER)...never so accurate. I am studying to be a teacher and working as an assistant and I am dammed good at it! (At least that's what they've told me!)
I haven't done this one before but I did the 16 personalities one and it was life revealing: ENFP and it suits me perfectly...I understood a lot of my behavior and emotional processes after that test. I recommend it to you, it's quite specific.
I really enjoyed this episode guys. I am going through a rough time with my mom's health and I needed a little bit of fun and distended time...and you gave it to me as always.

I am also a 7! Took the test about a year ago. HUGE Umbrella Academy fan. Seriously, I've seen it too many times. I've just started my acting career and Umbrella Academy is THE dream job to work on once I join the union. I'd love to chat with such experienced actors.

Loved this! Full on #9 here...total peacemaker & also the youngest go figure. It is fascinating to consider it a peak into peoples motivations. You have to wonder too how much is determined by when you were born & your environment. My post-depression era parents were equally as, er...”Protective” as Tom’s sweet mom. Kudos for being so optimistic & fearless!!! Still agree it all inevitably connects back to the gut though. Robs subconscious “Slideshow” also makes total sense...yup, been there. This was my first view after Tom's appearance on the Phelps brothers' show. It was so coincidental because I'm quite familiar with the enneagram and I kept thinking while watching Tom on their show that he sounds like a one! My fiance is a one and he has those 7 tendencies too when everything is going good.

I worked in a 'haunted' theatre for a while. There were some interesting stories - claims of any cooking smells were definitely down to the Italian restaurant next door though. There was a definite weird vibe in the TD's office though.

I took the test after watching the video and apparently I’m 98% a Type 4 and then 86% a Type 5 and 2, the same as it was 4 years ago. I really love personality tests, my favourite is the MBTI

Look into the instinctual variants as well, as they affect how your enneagram type is expressed, but they can also be used separately from the enneagram. There’s the social, the sexual (one-to-one interaction, not actually like the physical act lol) and the self-preservation instinct, and depending on which one is your dominant instinct, you may look more or less like the typical expression of your enneagram type. For example, a sx-dominant 6 may often get mistyped as an 8, whereas a sp-dominant 6 will often pretty clearly seem like a 6.
On a slightly different note, I think it’s good to approach the enneagram from the angle of your greatest internal fear rather than from the more peripheral personality traits in the type descriptions. For example, while Tom scored very highly for type 7, his answers to the seven-coded questions indicate that he can’t possibly be a 7 (I think it was the question about trying to distract yourself from negative emotions, which is a key driving force behind many of a 7’s approaches to things - Tom’s apparent lack of aversion to negative emotions suggests that however enthusiastic he may be, 7’s core motivation does not apply to him).
