I was fortunate enough to have the privilege of working with Chef Eric Ripert for several years. He is much more than a chef or mentor. This is a lifestyle. He taught me way more about life than food.
This is a man who is at peace with himself and knows what is important in life. Yes, he is the chef of a world-famous restaurant, but he sees the world as a whole and does his part to make this world better.
]well said Eric, my son work in your kitchen for 2 years im so proud of him and you giving him the opportunity , and now he is a success ! thank you Eric , his name is Brian
I loved when Eric would appear on Anthony Bourdains shows. They were close friends in real life. Eric has a really nice way about himself and he’s easy to like.
Being the best at preparing food means respecting and loving food. Ripert is one of those chefs, like Escoffier before him and Keller nowadays. He is a master.
The poor will always be with us, according to the words in the Bible. Eric Ripert and others like him who feed the poor are a gift to humanity. Thanks to their generosity and their compassion for helping those who are in need of food for their families.
Bravo 👏 👏 I tried to get Pizza Hut (my job in the early 90's) to send their waste to the womens shelter in town. I got 51 reasons why they couldn't do that. I would like to see more places do this. So many hungry people that could benefit
Ditto a grocery store I worked for ... their reasoning was that if someone got sick from the food, they would get sued. That's also the reason why when rotisserie chickens, food on the hot bar, etc., hit the 4 hr mark, they all go in the trash. Fear of lawsuits, the definition of America.
@@susannpatton2893 Nope, lots of non-profits had ideas like that, but lawsuits win over everything, and corps like Kroger, Walmart etc aren’t going to take the chance - esp since they can just write off the loss when food expires. Money for the shareholders and exec bonuses win. Period.
Buddha said life is filled with sorrow. What causes my sorrow? Attachment and desire. I desire good food. I have always been a good cook. Bob Marley sang "a hungry man is an angry man. Them belly full, but be we hungry."
I ate at Le Bernardin in 1998, and it was spectacular, but after visiting so many places in the world, It is not a three Michelin star it's a two Michelin star. He gets everything from the markets around him, and he gets the star from the french critics but there a many places that cultivate their ingredients in their gardens and have one or not Michelin stars, so, to me it's biased. Besides, French people are very biased against others. I also love how this reporter uses her charming, almost English accent to divert us from reality. Sound English doesn't make you smarter Martha Teichner.
Life is suffering. I eat garbage at the Veteran's hospital. They have to go out of their way to make such bad food for the soldiers. It's shameful. Looks like those in NYC homeless shelters eat much, much better.
I'm genuinely bothered. I have been. These restaurant influencers, one after another of the world's wealthiest situation, abled bodied strong rich people eating a once in a lifetime meal. If it's really good people that don't get much chance to try things should be there too. Where i was working though all there was is strong beer that would exhaust a diaper
Everyone has a purpose in life, a unique gift or special talent to give to others and when we blend this unique talent with service to others, we experience the ecstasy and exultation of our own spirit, which is the ultimate goal of all goals.
Yawn. Giving people worms with all their weird raw fish nonsense. Went in 1999 at the top of the world starry event and was non plussed. Even though it was one of the starriest nights of my life. I think the legend creates that even if the menu is brittle and strange. Whatever it was before the brother died, it changed. You would think that sister would have learned English by now.

Great video. Every time I see or hear about Eric Ripert, I can't help but think of Anthony Bourdain and their friendship.

A good man. A great example of what it should be about, working hard, loving what you do, being a blessing to others. Yup, a good man!
Eric is amazing and he is a man of great love and humanity! He is not chasing anything, he is truly living.
Eric is one of the greats on many levels…..
Eric is a master and true to his task, always consistent and approachable.

Eric Ripert is one of my favorite people.
What a nice man! With immense talent to boost!
Bless Eric for all his hard work and faith.
Eric is at the mountain's top when it comes to preparation, quality & complete understanding of what makes a fine dining experience...

Love this human.
Always one of my favorite dining experiences. Eric and his team are well deserved of their praise.
Mark my words. French is coming back into vogue again and I’m here for it.
I don't think so.
I agree !!!
D’accord
Like it ever left lol ✌️
My amazing nephew is taking me for the tasting menu this month! SUPER excited! Eric Ripert is a GOD!
Oh wow!! I hope you have a great time and wonderful eats
How did you like it?
@@Megan80 It was amazing!
So nice!!!! Thank you for sharing a great restaurant with the very nice gentleman Eric Ripert.
Chef Erik is exceptional.
A beautiful dining experience.
Thank you for your continuous response and support. I love you. How long have you been my fan?
Sweet guy. Signed menu first night in DC. Happy 50.
I enjoyed watching it and learned a lot! Thank you!
Wow, My best friend, OMG! So wonderful! I really love this! Thank you so much!
That’s actually cheap for a 4 course dinner at a 3 Michelin star restaurant
I miss Eric's sidekick, Tony Bourdain. They had many adventures together.
Amazing 🤩👏🏽👏🏽

@@susannpatton2893 AGAIN... lawsuits trump all, including 'waivers'. If you need further clarification, talk with an attorney or a grocery manager.

NOW THATS A CHEF ! SOME DAY SOON , I HAVE TIME .
It is very good place and worth the money trust me.
I wish I could eat at Le Bernandin. I love to eat all kinds of fish dishes.
Work harder
That's not nice to say! 4 course meal for $198 is a bargain - compared to what other chefs charge
Ok....but have any of you tried the luxurious Hometown Buffet. Try the Salisbury steak with the ketchup and dollar tree steak sauce.
I'll have the Royal with cheese
Where's the rest of the food I say as I look at those plates. He was friends Anthony Bourdain may he RIP.

Go to City Harvest and get that $200 meal for free. 🤣🤣
Is your restaurant good enough for a wheelchair ramp. Mine is not.
What a shallow, unfulfilling view into what I know is an amazing story. Do better.

Eric Ripert is vastly more preferable and admirable than someone like Anthony Bourdain.
