It's so incredible how effortless it is. You'd have to practice that for YEARS to get to that level of vocal control, yet, Freddie almost never took any vocal lessons!
The most amazing part of this song is where Freddie goes from falsetto to his normal range when he comes to the part singing magic in the air.... He's singing in falsetto, so high most people can't reach that pitch without screaming: and he just glides down the octaves. Stunning piece of singing. It's not him singing one part and then going back and over-dubbing another: it's simply gliding down. Incroyable, as the French would say! It's so good to know there's still a little magic in the air... and the magic happens while he's singing it!
"He's singing in falsetto, so high most people can't reach that pitch without screaming" Uh no almost everyone who's not bass can reach that, and most women (who are usually mezzo soprano to soprano naturally) can sing those notes without falsetto. Other than that, have to agree, that transition is absolutely fabulous.
Freddie effortlessly sang falsetto to various other songs, for example Cool Cat, Soul Brother, years later. Or when live, in that case, he did the "vocal gymnastics" on Get down make love (on Live Killers but also on other live mid-70s) that can be found on youtube. Or Under pressure etc. Obviously his falsetto is different from Roger's one, it is fuller, it can also be recognized in various other songs. And perhaps he thought it was more "risky" for a good consistent performance to sing live falsetto.

"Brighton Rock" opens their next album Sheer Heart Attack... You can hear whistling in the first few seconds of Brighton Rock. It sounds like they are whistling "I Do Like To Be Beside The Seaside" ... like a continuation ... Queen does something similar between the two albums A Night At The Opera & A Day At The Races. The first ends with a gong (BoRhap) and the next album opens with a gong. Not only did their songs flow into each other but their albums did too. Sooooooo cool. Geniuses all of them.

because homogeneity is boring
Because band members today compete agsinst each other
Because if all music was produced in the same way and sounded similar, tracks like this wouldn't be exceptional or special at all. Be happy for the garbage, the okay, and the music you just don't like, because without them the best ones couldn't shine.
“Here it is, Baby! Your killer track!”

Look how adorable Deacy is 🥺
One of the best solos of Brian May...
Carlos Eduardo Dominguez Martinez tu eres correcto! Brian May was an underated guitarist.
Carlos Eduardo Dominguez Martinez
Defenitly
dont you mean is a underated guitarist, he still tours
Williamg209 yes that's what I meant. I know May still plays. Always loved his style and sound
David Gardiner the fuck? He’s one of the most famous guitarist of all time...
The reference to seven seas of rhye in the beginning is my favorite. The fact that Queen added to many different references in their songs is immaculate
Anyone listening to this because it's Queen and not just because it was in baby driver's soundtrack?
Not hating, just wondering.
Edit: I'm just happy to see people discovering awesome music, doesn't matter how you discovered it!
Also, Baby Driver is a great movie and I definitely recommend watching it.
TheJeronator Yep, known the track since summer 2015. It became my favourite about a year ago but now everyone thinks it was the movie that made me familiar with it.
TheJeronator Nederlands?
no disrespect bruh
also not comparing the two
but its a hell of a movie
I know dude, i've seen it this vacation. Definitely one of my favs now.
Yes. I heard it on the movie and decided to give it a listen just cause it's queen
Brian’s fingers must have been killing making this song
Brian May feeling Hendrix at 3:33, it's amazing!
God, I love the change from a higher voice to a deeper voice when he says "magic," in the chorus. It's so beautiful.
The killer track.
Adam_Roman right
Yeah, you got that right. Best scene ever!
Baby Driver.
"Here it is Baby...your killer track"
Killer Queen Daisan no bakudan Bites Za Dusto!
Taking my 13 yr grandson to see them, his first concert. He loves Queen. Although he'll miss the live magic of Freddie, he'll still feel the magic of Brian and Roger, and Queen. I hope they do this song!
Was it in the building next to the hydro
I love the voices Freddie does in this 😂
AND THE GUITAR WOW!
I do believe Brian used a copy cat Guitar effect
Now call an Echo.
Brian: sick guitar solo
Rodger: angry drumming
John: Bass goes doo-doo
It's funny you describe Brian's solo as "sick". I think he had Hepatitis when they recorded that album.
Probably the best rock song ever, it hits all the criteria
When the whole band chimes in and sings the "O rock of Ages do not crumble..." It sounds so damn good argh
everyones saying "oh innuendo is the most underrated queen song" which it may be but i mean if u go deep you can find very VERY underrated queen songs like dreamers ball, flick of the wrist, and this/brighton rock and much much more.
One of the greatest rock tunes out there. Happy to argue, but you're going to find it hard to change my mind.
Yes, deserve more recognition.
Everyone is talking about Brian's skill in this song (which is incredible don't get me wrong) but gosh *Can we talk about Roger fucking Taylor and his talent with his drum? I swear I'm dying*
And Deaky
Incredible lineup of musicians, all master performers, Queen is without a doubt one of the best bands of history.
this song and the band in general were way ahead in time back then theyre so genius
Baby Driv.........wait i am a Queen fan since I had memory :D
?
w-what now?
Heh, it’s been messed up now unfortunately. Like away
@rogerina is hotter than me & I’m ok with it i love your user name
None gives a single fuck
I've listened to plenty of Queen songs, but I'll admit I never heard of this one until Baby Driver.
"Here it is, Baby...your killer track"
Rylade475 same
Rylade475 same, my dude.
I agree with you affinity for queen. But your opinion is now invalid because yur pfp is a furry.
ha
Exactly the same mate
What a boss theme. Just the Edgar Wright magic and this song... chefs kiss
The best guitar solo of all the times, period!
It would be hard to pick a top ten list for Queen.....so many epic songs. That being said, this song would def. be on that list ---mindblowing!
Ain't nothing like sipping on some english tea and having some buttered round biscuits while listening to this. This makes me wish that was in Brighton right now. 💜
I grew up listening to Queen. I never liked this song. The guitar solo in the middle I felt was too long. However, now as a middle-aged woman, this is one of my favourites. I don't know what happened.... I matured, i guess.
This song is probably the best song that Brian wrote!
Yea....
I feel Brighton Rock, The Prophet's Song, and White Queen (As It Began) are his best
Killer song
Baby driver
Exelent
YEAH
more like killer queen
@@aeroplane_enthusiast jojo reference
Baby Driver
I’m usually driving my Red 2006 Subaru Impreza WRX. While blasting this full volume.
Is it your killer track, Baby?
Such an underrated queen song this song should be so much more popular
