I made one years ago using concrete and paper and fabric which was way too messy. Does anyone have any ideas to making it easier without concrete or breaking my bank?

A concrete one sounds pretty fun but yes definitely very messy! We made ours with paper then I covered that with cardboard and finally wrapped it with a lot of duck tape. The paper and cardboard didn't hold up very well but the duck tape definitely held up very well!
