Two Betrayals was always my favorite mission. People always say it's repetitive or that it's "control on the assault room but backwards." It just has so much atmosphere and seeing what they did here in combat revolved is really cool!
Same here, replayed it countless times and also the most fun map to mod in my opinion. The music during this level is great and tells a story itself. Starts of with the positive one man army ost similar to early levels and slowly turns into a more somber/serious tone as you progress.
You should check out Ruby's Rebalanced as well. He redid numerous encounters on Two Betrayals and changed quite a bit of the environment. Well worth it.
@@leetningvancleenf5843 The end fight on two betrayals and the chaotic ending during the maw is done great on that mod and made the flood feel like a bigger threat. Those were two very memorable moments to me when it came to Ruby's Rebalanced among a few other moments. Spv3 might've been over the top for some, but that version of two betrayals was also great despite the length of it in my opinion. Felt like an adventure finishing that one.
A nice touch for me was when you took down a pulse generator, an elite would come from the entrance indicating why there is an extra banshee available compared to retail where it just appears. Great video, I missed the potential easter egg with the elites because I instantly killed them with a rocket 😂
I would love to see a mashup of Combat Revolved and Ruby's Rebalanced CE. They both feel so close to perfect in different ways, especially in Two Betrayals.
I do really like this mod! I do think the mod author kinda went overboard at times with the lighting changes but the other improvements far outweigh that gripe. Looking forward to seeing you *grab Keyes* in the next episode ;)
There is a radio station in abq with the same call sign and nickname as you and I chuckle about it every time I hear your intro. It’s 102.5 a classic rock station.

I know about the criticism of it being Assault on the Control Room but backwards, but TB is different enough because of all the multiple big battles between Covenant, Sentinels, and Flood. And there are so many ways you can approach them and they never get stale.

im having a extremely hard time choosing between this and the havoc mod, both are peak halo ce modding. i wish there was a some kind of new mod where they mesh these 2 mods together it would be very sick
The ONLY thing that i do not like. To be perfectly honest. Is the fuel rod being magazine/belt fed. The original CE multiplayer version is perfection being battery operated making it feel more "alien" of a weapon. Its not to say covenant dont have the technology capability of having mag fed weapons its just seeing their artwork they never appear to have mag or belt holders in their design because it takes away from their alien aesthetic. So i always felt Bungie made a huge error making the carbine and fuel rod mag fed in halo 2 onward.
@@KYOTTH-cam They're likely referring to 'Tank Girl's Temper', which you can find behind a rock in the corner immediately outside the right side of the door when exiting the Control Centre (It spawns an Elite or two in the base game, depending on Difficulty). I can also give you a heads up on one or even two pretty easily missable secrets for The Maw ahead: Check between the Warthog docks in the Vehicle Bay before you make your escape.
In this level alone: - it is crucial that you start with the plasma pistol and shotgun because: it shows you that the sentinels are weak to plasma weapons but resistant to kinetic damage (even from something as powerful as the shotgun that carried you through the last two missions). It's your first time fighting them so learning this ASAP is crucial. The next encounter also serves as a first because it's the first time you use the shotgun on the covenant, so it serves as a testing ground for how that weapon works against jackals, elites, and grunts. - banshees are supposed to be purple so that they stick out in the bland coloured environments making them fair to fight and easy to spot. The whole "they really got me with the destroyed banshees" shows how shitty the destroyed banshees are telegraphed. In base game CE I never doubt if a vehicle is usable or unusable because everything has a recognizable shape that informs me what it is and what I can do with it the second I see it. - the inclusion of marines is wrong because at this point in the game you are supposed to be alone. After 343 guilty spark the only allies you'll get are not really allies but another faction trying to kill the same enemy as well as you (excluding sentinels in the library of course). The training wheels are off and it's time to show your mastery of the combat flow by handling not one but multiple hostile factions at once. Not seeing any friendly faces also makes it that much more of a gut punch when Keyes and echo 419 die before you can reach them. - the MA5B is not a weapon you should be able to scope in with. It is a close range bullet hose that is comparable to a Bizzon or a P90. I eat, shit, and breathe halo CE. The campaign was balanced perfectly the way it is. The only thing I would change is giving rocket flood fuel rod guns instead and model swap the pistol for a DMR since the M6D really set the standards for percussion weapons moving forward.
