Harman may have updated the heat exchanger panel design. I did a full cleaning on a 2023 model today and installing / removing the medallion and panels took about 5 minutes. Did take a second to figure out how to reinstall (first time doing this) but after that the process was as easy as the video makes it seem. Definitely not something you should be afraid of trying on your own, just take your time and take photos of how everything looks before you remove the panels for the first time.

It would have been SO HELPFUL if for every item they are moving to clean (or moving in/out of the insert), they show us CONTEXT first with a wider view, THEN go in closer. EG, near the end of this video they show how to clean the feeder chamber (~6:52 mark) but you CANNOT TELL from looking at the video WHERE they ARE on the stove! (I STILL don't know where it is -- the service guy cleans it at the annual cleaning where they pull out the whole thing.)
And as others have said, getting the side panels and medallion off is WAY harder than they show, especially the first few times you do it. I love how the person in the video clearly GOT STUCK taking the right one off (~5:08 mark) so they faded out and edited and the next thing we know, it's coming out. :( I have cleaned my insert so many times now that I am MUCH better at it now, but getting the side panels and medallion back on is STILL a pain. I have to lie down on the floor and look UP so I can see what I'm doing!

Even your tech had a problem with the right hand heat exchanger. You can see where they made a video edit around 5:08. Come on Harmin, great stove except for that exact part.

I just got the upgraded model of this stove yesterday and I love it. Does anyone know how to set the date and time on the thermostat display? I need to program it so it won't run too hot when I'm not home.

Is there a good way to clean the control board to help it lest longer? Do you think it would be ok to use a can of DeoxIT D5 to clean the dials once a year to help the control board last longer?

This stove is the BIGGEST pain in the ass to clean by taking out the center and side plates. They don't tell you how hard it is to take them out or putting them back.

Any tips on how to take it out. Specifically the right hand side cover almost impossible for me to do so for some reason.

      All pellet stoves are junk.

taking them out is easy. Putting them back is ungodly miserable, no wonder they just fade through it in the video

@@SenatorNyxen Absolutely right!!! Getting those darned covers back in on my older Accentra insert turns a 1 hour job into a 2 hour trip to hell and back! And I never have been able to get that piece of crap brush to go in all the way on the left side. Going to try the plumbers snake on a drill thing next time.

Strange, I have a version of this stove and I remove the cast iron plates exactly as shown (I think this is my 13th year). Every now and then I'm a little hasty and it gets stuck, but you only need to be a little precise when you're maneuvering the plates. When removing the center plate, you need to slide that up basically all the way, then it will tilt out as shown, but the weight of the two side plates will fight against you, so you have offset that pressure. Once it's out, you lift the side plates, then twist it open a little from the center, like you're swinging a door just a little (I usually use the little triangle in the lower center to help lift). The far sides of the stove have a shallow corner area, you shift the plate so the far side sits in that corner, then pull the inner side past the center burn box ( you may need to scoot the whole plate forward a little so it clears the burn box). Then tip the top of the plate down 90 degrees and lift up and pull the side you tipped out first. Do this exactly in reverse when putting them back (I like to balance on that triangle once I get the plate upright. When you go to replace the center plate, push up against the wing plates fairly hard and up after good contact, you should feel it catch before you swing the bottom back and let it slide into place.

My Accentra Insert must be way older than this version, as my combustion motor is on the rear, outside of the insert, right below the exhaust opening to the flue/stove pipe junction between the insert and frame that holds the stove in place inside the fireplace. No removable plates inside, behind the ash pan, only the plate for the igniter cleanout comes off to clean out the fly ash.

anyone run into a problem like this? My Harman 52I insert, when the stove is initially heating up, or when the stove temp is going back up to a higher temp, I get a vibration that carries into my floor, and up into the mantle. I have taken pictures of the screen, and sound could be, but I"m not sure is when the auger is near its max. It sounds like a mack truck is idling right outside my house. Any idea if its the auger, or something else vibrating? When I get it in a steady state, say 2.5, about 300 degrees, the noise mostly goes away - most of the time. But if I heat it up to high 300s, the vibrations come back. This is a brand new stove from October 2022. And its been happening since day 1. They came out and replaced the blower motor, and now, I also have a slight hum out of that as well, where the original fan was whisper quiet. I ran Minuteman supreme for the first ton of pellets which were .15% ash pellets. and I clean the stove once a week. Any ideas on what to troubleshoot?

Its the heat plates on either side of the medallion, they rattle when the combustion motor runs at a certain rpm. Unfortunately, it is a design flaw as the plates always have some play in them and are free to rattle. I resolved the issue by inserting a penny on both sides so that the plates can no longer rattle. This worked for me.

I tried that. It wasn't it. But what I did find is that the floor is a tiny bit in level. Where the cage/rack in have in the firebox to receive the stove, it was transferring into the lip through the floor. I got some 1/8" flat rubber, took the stove out, and put some under the cage to elevate it slightly and act as shock absorbers of sorts. Cut it down by about 1/2. So it's bearable now ;). Thanks for the tip

The heat exchangers are difficult to remove and reinstall. This video is less than informative on how to remove/install them. Clearly edited. The right side was the more difficult exchanger to remove for me and it got jammed when I attempted to install it. Eventually I unjammed it and installed. Poorly designed in my opinion for this particular operation that is recommended for monthly maintenance. Folks that are not mechanically inclined or short on patience may want to reconsider doing the job..
