I recall sometime between 2019 and 2023, Rassie also made it clear that they follow about 90 players. By 2 years out from the WC they have about 50 identified and build 'game-minutes'. Then about 35 for the final year. I remind myself, this is only year ONE!!!
Thanks Jordan, love the channel. Great that the strategy is geared much more toward keeping up with Ireland in their running passing game. With the new rules still needing to be tried we seem to be looking for more speed in the reserves. Rassie does what he does to prepare and send the best men to meet the challenge as always
Hi, I find it incredible that the Springboks are underdogs going in!! I know you say the stats say that but SA are back to back WCs, the squad is packed to capacity with great talent, experience and playing on home ground! I am a huge Irish fan (love you guys too) but I don’t think our team is strong enough at the moment, I hope and pray that I am wrong……….just hoping for a great contest. Best to all. 💚
Hey thanks mate, from a bok fan I wish you and your team all the best, the boks are waiting, Ireland have only won one test match in SA ever, so it's gonna be a challenge indeed, but Farrell is a smart coach, he has already won a series in NZ so there's not much need to doubt his ability, if he wins a series against the Boks in SA, he would go down as one of the greatest rugby coaches of all time.
The Rassie plan for 2027 with team selection is deliberate and daring. The end game is to have 4 players to choose from at any given moment ,and the reason is to keep the aponents guessing and make there life diffucalt in preparing to face off to the Bicks. My tsk. And its a good Meta.
"Siya will be captain, Siya will play six flank and Siya is fit and Siya has got no injury and Siya is not fat and Siya is not transparent." -Rassie Erasmus😂😂 If you know you know
I think most of us Irish fans would probably see SA as favourites going into these games. You're playing at home, are world champions, world number 1 and have a massive squad.
There is still so much time before the next RWC and SA has a lot of depth. Rassie will build an army to go to the next RWC and we might take it again if Rassie has his doctor's cap on.
Just my opinion; Rassie is building depth that most of T1 rugby union nations wished they could build. Rassie is treating the nonplaying member of the team more like enlarge bench of players that he could called upon when the actual players are laying including starters and closers/reserve. Sorry about running on sentence😅
He always downplays the bokkes rating as favorite, thats all psychological mind games, the Irish know they aren't the favorites, they've got to keep lying low and come out punching and not get ahead of themselves....💪💪💪
SA 4 RWC Gold , all South African Ireland, 0 RWC, English coach plus foreign players . Ireland need a former Irish player to coach them , plus lose the foreign players
I grew up in NZ, I put 1000 on the Boks to win the last WCUP and collected nicely no Kolisi should not be in the squad at all methinks his inclusion is political
@@mag101ablelooks solid. I'd swap cobus and grant around. And swap Franco and RG. Think starting Cobus and Franco offers more stability. They both can also play a full match easily if required. Then if required Grant can cover halfback and wing off the bench, his speed in the second half is more of a threat as well. RG can cover both lock positions if needed, and if not chasing a deficit nice to have the option to take Eben off to manage his game time (I'm hoping the manage his playing time much better in this 4 year cycle).
I thought about that but my thinking is you want to give RG and Grant more game time from the starting whistle and then bring on experienced players like Mostert and Reinach to see off the game cos it's probably gona be a tight game and cool heads will be needed in the dying minutes but the nice things is we have depth, probably best ever so it's a win win@@evanh8749
Kolisi is being carried by the team. He plays barely 50 minutes every game and is off form. There are way better players available in his position. Time to take sentiment out the equation. Kolisi has been a great Bok but he is way off form and he is no youngster at 33.....
@@BruceMacgregorCampbell Kolisi would not be selected in any top international team based on his current form. Enough with selecting players on sentiment.
@@beast_machine the team has plenty of leaders. Siya had a poor WC. I like the guy but he has not played well enough and often enough to justify selection.
That analogy between Sacha and Jordan, one being in the system and the other not, is totally bogus and probably has nothing to do with the 2 different performances. Talent does though.
Rassie isn't building a squad, he's building an army 😂
He was trained to.
Rassie knew he would need an army for this meeting, what a compliment!
@@lizzyhanahoe4197he is building an army for the three peat as the depth is like the ocean

Rassie is building a massive squad, with great depth options incase of a injury crisis. What a time to be a bok supporter.
Doesnt he always do that ?

The Bokke owes us a win over the Zombies

It wasn’t the Racing 92 coach. It was their owner Jacky Lorenzetti.

Not much to choose between Cobus Reinach and Grant Williams. Williams I think is quicker. But they can both get playing time.
I think Papier is unlucky to miss out because he was epic against Leinster for the Bulls.
Jaden hendrickse

There is not a greater strategic coach than Rassie. The Irish will only know and believe what Rassie wants them to know and believe.
