Im getting tired of everyone only talking about the top 3 centers. Kamf has been unbelievable. He erases opposing offense. He's a beast when he's using his body along the wall. He was below 50% on faceoffs against the lightning, but he faced top competition and he was at 51.5% over the regular season. Underratedly important to this team on the PK and allowing Keefe to get Matthews out against weaker competition.
Honestly, I've always talked about Kampf, I feel like he's been reliable throughout the regular season and playoffs of the last two seasons; even when we're playing bad, it's hard to find anything to criticize about him. But he should be flying under the radar for two reasons: he's doing his job of being a shut down centre, and the big guys are delivering.
I remember when the Leafs picked up Kamf and I knew he was on the Blackhawks. Analyst said he doesn't score much and he also doesn't get scored on. Nothing happens when he is on the ice for the offense or defence. That's the type of player the Leafs need in the playoffs . He does so many small things that go unnoticed.
@Wandregisel just too bad that everything he does goes unnoticed. He's elite at everything he's good at. Just doesn't show up on the score sheet.

Honestly Steve is turning me into a Leafs fan. I love watching Leafs games with him its so much fun.
I can relate to that so deeply. I was happy to just cheer for my Finnish countrymen and see how far their teams would go, but during this season I noticed that before going to see how my fellow Finns had been doing, I checked if Leafs had had any games and felt happy if they had won. The closer we got to the end of the season, the more I noticed how I began hoping that Leafs would go to the second round.
I've never seen a full NHL game before I started watching them during these playoffs.
Of course the first game I saw was that 5th game they lost, but that's the initiation rite, I guess 😂
But yeah, I'm a Leafs fan. I can feel it in my spine. This team is the one.

I love how we have literally nothing bad to say, because the panthers are just a pretty solid team. They fought like hell, and here we are. A ton of respect was gained from me when those boys pulled it off, and I can't say anything other than I'm proud of that fight. Great game, and I hope that, no matter how this series goes, we are treated to some fantastic hockey.
Habs fan here. With my wife we decided to watch the Leafs in the series since the CH is not a series team. We are rooting HARD for you guys ! All Canadian final Leafs-Oilers is our wish.

And I'll tell you... The Habs have had their frustrating moments in recent years with all the Bergevin stuff but at least I have a cup Final to remember and 2 conference finals since 2004. I don't think I will change "ship" anytime soon.

I don't know if I necessarily agree with your Gio+Tkachuk take. If there are 2 players on the Leafs that will know how to play Tkachuk, to me, it's Brodie and Giordano. Not to mention that they have a ton of knowledge on his center, Sam Bennett's game.

Florida's transition and puck possession abilities are underated. Hectic passes that get away from the opposition were prevalent.

I gotta say Leafs in 6, maybe even 7. Florida is not to be underestimated. Both teams are running on highs and while early in the series Toronto should have an edge, for the last couple seasons Florida have been the comeback kids with a never say die attitude. They are dangerous when they are down. Gonna be some series... Really hoping we can see the ECF this year, but time will tell as always.
Special teams will likely be the difference.

@@walle7284 I would agree if it weren't for their PK and PP being so so. But their PK is 60% as opposed to Toronto's 73%, and Power play is close, 78% to 75% in favor of the Leafs. Florida also picks up more penalty minutes so I think that could come back to haunt them this series.

Leafs got to treat them like they're playing the Bruins. This series isn't going to be easy like many are saying it is.
Anyone who says the second round is easy, regardless of which team you play, is foolish. ANY team that makes it through the first round has the potential to go all the way to the Stanley Cup.

My quick take is Leafs in 6, but Florida could steal this as they will be coming in with confidence and momentum (who wouldn't after beating the Presidents Trophy winner and turning them into a meme).
I'm excited for this round! Have to say, one of the most exciting playoff series so far. Still hate the playoff format, but this is the exception to the rule
NHL playoffs are the best for entertainment
3:40 I'd rather have Lafferty in there than Kerfoot any day. Other than the one game winning goal, Kerfoot has a hard time finishing (at least, that's what she said), and isn't as tough to play against as Lafferty, both are about as fast I suppose.
Having Liljegren with Gio will help Gio a lot due to Liljegren's speed (Holl's slowness just compounded Gio's slowness... not a good pair, and I don't like the idea of Holl playing period).

What’s your thoughts about your team banning leafs fans from attending the game? Sounds like they are scared of having leafs fans in the building because they know they will outnumber the panthers fans.

Honestly, the Leafs need to continue with that speed they had with Tampa and continue dealing out hits. Something else I feel benefits the leafs is that ability to shield the opposing goalie, like they did with Vassy. If they can do that against arguably the best goalie of the last couple years, they can surely do it against Tampa and get the W in I estimate to be 6 games

Interestingly, Bobrovsky had not been much in form. It may have to do with all the weapons Bruins had to throw at him, but his numbers were downright average.

I think the (potential) Tkachuck - Knies matchup is gonna be important. Both big netfront presence guys, both can score, honestly if I'm Keefe I staple the two together as often as possible

The power play could be the decider. At times over the last two seasons I’ve been like it’s fine, it wasn’t intentional tripping. We don’t want the power play.
My 87 year old mother, who cheers for the Leafs, got admitted to the hospital with vertigo on Saturday. I told her it took a trip to the hospital to help them win a playoff series. She reminded me the last time she was in the hospital was when she gave birth to me which was in 1967.

Just want to say I do have cable and I had the opportunity to watch the leafs games on there, but I instead watched all the game on your TH-cam channel because you definitely make watching the leafs so much better. Steve I just want to say your videos have made me a bigger fan than I could have ever imagined.
It's not a done deal, not by a long shot, but out of the 8 teams remaining (including either NY or NJ) I actually like TO's chances of winning a cup. The Tampa series made me nervous but they did it, and with Boston and Colorado out of it, I think they have a legit shot.
They do, but the franchise has baggage, and they've struggled gigantically with breaking through. This year is different, but Leafs fans know to guard our hearts. This roster is pretty deep, and if they all show up, they're a scary team! Anything can happen.

I predict the Leafs in 5 or 6. The Panthers are a tough gritty team that won't make it easy but they are worn down from an incredibly tough 1st round and only had a standard 1 day off between rounds. The Leafs had the extra day rest and didn't seem as worn out by the 1st round.
I picked Florida in 7 in my playoff bracket challenge. I also picked Leafs in 4 and didn't change it after they lost the first game... So...

It was actually Panthers third line with Luostarinen, Lundell and Reinhart who consistently pressurised Boston and managed to score key goals in the series. Good thing they are still bit under the radar

As a Pens fan, I'm, kind of, rooting for the Leafs because of former Pens Zach Aston-Reese and Sam Lafferty. That and I'm still bitter about Florida eliminating the Pens from the playoffs, way back in the 90s...

I took Panthers in 7 for the Presidents trophy curse and believing they would have to burn out eventually plus not fully trusting the goaltending. I also took Seattle in 6 which I was off by a game on. Took them cause of the injuries on Colorado, the hype around Seattle would be immaculate and thought they would be blazing like the Golden Knights in their startup! @@bunsw2070 Bruins were hardly even projected to make the playoffs at the start of the season, let alone have the best record and points in NHL history. They had no real stretch of poor hockey or record throughout the entire season so they were due for a slide. And NOBODY saw Ullmark as a Vezina calibre goalie heading into the year, and he isn't one moving forwards (he absolutely deserved it this season though). Just too many red flags leading into the playoffs
