Looks like a great tool. I wished you made flanges with it though. Love the VW's . Thanks for video.

I may throw up a video of the flanges soon. I have tried it but I have not used that part for an actual project. It works fine though.

I've got what looks like the same one. Regarding the flange side not fully meeting, there's an oil port on the side, top it up, make sure there's no air in it.
I found this out when mine started doing that. I took it apart to find out why, but before I'd realised it had just leaked some oil I'd polished all the shafts in the lathe and replaced all the o rings. Spent hours on it. Should have just engaged my brain.
It's an air piston that's attached to a small hydraulic piston that moves the oil, the oil then acts on a larger piston that moves the head. Nice design really. Serviceable too.

As you've taken one apart, do you think it could punch a 6.2mm hole in 3mm aluminium?
If it needs more pressure I can add an intensifier to the system as it'll be a fixed work station.
I'm thinking if I could swap the head over for a fixed sized die and fit a replacement punch it'd make my job easier. I could do with 4 heads on a guide rail so I can set centres.

Just purchased one. We’ll see how it works on my package tray and cross member(s) installation.

Maybe make the relief to the punch throat with thin cut off wheel an extra 1/8" and bevel/round the outside anvils so you can get closer to objects to get better use of the tool.

Harbor freight 37.99 Still not a bad price for the work it saves you.

Bought one recently to punch rocker panels for welding. Wouldn’t fit most of the sheet metal in the tool. But the spots it would punch worked fine.

You can adjust the anvil with a small hex key to fit narrower or slightly wider panels. Loosen small hex key on the corresponding area to the bright chrome anvil and slide the bright chromed anvil up or down. Retighten thoroughly. My tool only punched a few punches and the flanger barely worked before I realized it needed hydraulic fluid in the reservoir that says oil. Only took a little bit but it was the difference of the tool working and not working correctly. I also oil the mechanism and the little tube the scrap pieces slide into each time I use it with a little can of 3M type oil. Tool now works flawlessly. I've seen this complaint a few times and a little hydraulic oil solves the problem. It would be nice if it came properly filled. Apparently it's a common issue. I paid $30 for the tool. Minor issue and easily corrected.

I have one, when I punch holes I tend to hold it up the other way we're possible as it stores all the little punched out bits in the head & you just tip them in the bin otherwise if you do like he's doing they end up all over the floor (great tool) machine mart do one here in the UK at a reasonable price.

What is the lead in? 1/8?
I need something that can put a hole in the center of a 1” strip.

Drilling a Trillion holes is a bummer. But aren't those punched holes, to close to the edge of the panel?

I'm on my third one. I thought maybe it was my high shop air pressure hurting them. I tried running a regulator set at 90. We'll see how long this one lasts...

Try topping up the oil in it
