When I do my reaction videos I don't press pause because I don't want to interrupt the natural flow of the music as it was originally intended by the artist. I try to vocalise my thoughts in real time as I listen to the song, and then summarise my reaction afterwards.

This is right up my alley, thanks for introducing them to me! This is the kind of music that I listen to while working - I tend to write a lot of documents for work so songs without lyrics has become a requirement these days. Definitely going to add them to my playlist along sides Animals as Leaders, Plini, Polyphia, Red Sparowes, God is an Astronaut, If These Trees Could Talk, Russian Circles, etc.

Definitely give them a listen. They’re super underknown but they RIP! All are amazing musicians.

Man, I adore Night Verses. Such an unbelievably talented group and the soundscapes they produce are just mesmerizing. I get what you mean about vocals, but I honestly prefer their instrumental stuff over the stuff they did with a vocalist. It's totally a matter of tase though 😉 This is unquestionably tied for my most anticipated album of the year. From the Gallery of Sleep was probably my AotY for 2018. Might be an acquired taste, by my lord have I got a taste for this. Each member is a master of their craft. Fair points and great video as always my man 🤘

Many of their songs do incorporate vocal samples too, snippets of film and documentary. It still may not be entirely to your taste but it does give a little more connective tissue to their albums.

They used to have a singer on the first two records, so definitely worth check them out. Specially the album Into the vanishing light. Fav tracks: Growing out of orbit and A Dialogue in cataplexy. 👌

I freaking love these guys. Aric Improta is out of this world good on drums. So glad to see more music from them.

My first impression during the, uh, chorus? Was "it feels like being dragged by a car"

Aric Improta is one of the best Metal drummers around at the moment, he has a very distinctive style (also plays in Fever333, another very good band). You need to check out his play through of Copper Wasp and also his duet with Justin Chancellor of Tool. Keep the great reactions coming!

Night Verses is like prog-metal Salvador Dalí… it’s hyper-technical, dreamy, eclectic and surreal. Their music should be described as « art » rather than « song ». These musicians are virtuosos and are able to write freely without having to worry about traditional structure and things like choruses and repeating verses. This song also reminds me a bit of their song Phoenix IV: Levitation. Trippy as hell.
Love your honesty Steve. I always learn alot from your point of view.

Prog-metal Salvador Dali is so apt 👏

Yes, art rather than song. Musical experiment or expression, even.

Have you listened to Louis Cole? His Drum Solo, and the work he's done with Knower and Clown Core is fantastic.

I’m familiar with a tiny bit of Clown Core.
Is there a link you could share for something I particularly ought to check out?

@@SteveOGRock Their visual album, Van, I think is a good jumping off point th-cam.com/video/kdA0mW-9jRs/w-d-xo.html .
Knower, is a bit more of an eclectic vibe, but still fantastic as well.

LOVED this! 🤡 Core! Thanks for sharing! I respect artists who choose not to take themselves too seriously, even though they totally have the musical chops to get away with something this brilliant. Video was nuts! The cutaways of the van had me dying every time. 😂
