Hey this is hell of a cover !! I absolutely love this album and I'm jealous that you have Lapointe as your teacher😂 I think that for next time, you should maybe add a little bit compression, to avoid too much volume fluctuation, just like at 6:42. Cheers !!
thanks for your feedback my friend,i meant to volume up my bass in the mixing therefore i can full cover the original sound of forest, but still,i will be more aware about that piont, thank you! btw:i actually used compressor😂
Months later and I still can't listen to this enough....I've owned and played on a 1999 warwick fortress 5 and a spector legend 5 classic for yrs now and before that I played a 4 string ibanez ergodyne and fender precision bass...been playing 26 yrs and never once have I had the opportunity to own a nice fretless....between watching all ur videos and forest and alex weber from obscura I finally decided it was time and pulled the trigger on a spalted maple/mahogany 5 string pedulla...best decision I've ever made and I owe it to you mostly...thank-you sir....and please never stop playing...I know forest has been teaching u for a short period and I heard u have only been playing since 2019 but man ur on my MT.Bassmore already.very well rounded on all skillsets and I must say if I didn't know any better I would guess u were a prodigy and been playing since u were like 5. I expect big things from you man
This was an incredible cover that made me realize how insanely well tracked the studio version is - so even more respect to you for coming so close to the original
Absolutely amazing man, what an insane display of skill and musicianship! If I might ask: As an electric guitarist, I'm planning to start out learning the bass more, fingerstyle (I have quite the way to go though...). As a guy who played classical guitar before, I wondered if you use two fingers for fast eight/sixteenth notes and the third finger only for triplets? It seems to me that way, but I can't really see it all the time~ Also if you have any other tips, I'm thankful for everything! ^^
Oh my god....I've been playing more than half my life and I'm 42 and I'm not even close to your level...ima go curl up in a blanket now and cry...then watch this amazingness again
