  • What Happened to Carlos Alcaraz at US Open?...(Unexpected)
Carlos Alcaraz looked completely out of sorts against Medvedev in the US Open Semi-final. After going through multiple injury problems, losing to Djokovic in the Cincinnati Open, and going through a tough draw at the US Open, he just wasn't the Alcaraz we know. Just what happened to Carlos Alcaraz at the US Open?

I think people have to let this young man developed. I think that it is strange that they expect him to just start dominating tennis. Novak is still unbelievable, and they are other challengers as well.

Medvedeve happened. Two former US Open champions against each other. Also Carlos-s win at Wimbledon could easily have gone the other way and after Cinci...Djokovic lives rent free in his mind.

What do you mean what happened, he lost against Medvedev and Djokovic in great matches. It's not like he's the superior tennis player now.

"What happenned" was that Alcaraz continued to be the second-best player in the world. This video seems to treat it as if he suddenly turned into FAA and can't win a match to save his life. His losses came against #14, #3, and the greatest player to ever pick up a tennis racket. This wasn't a collapse or disappointment, and anyone who considers it a failure if he isn't 2006 Federer or 2011 Djokovic really needs to appreciate the impressive year and career that Carlitos has had so far.

The US Open finalists were the only ones who didn't take the clot shot. This will never be factored in... because people are so sensitive. But in a normal world, with people who have functioning brains, this would be brought up.

I don't think something went particoulary wrong for Alcaraz... maybe was only the tension of the moment, but also probably he use a lot of energy for arrivig in semi in this GS. Then i don't think that was unexpected Medvedev win against the spanish on hardcourt is not worse then Alcaraz or Djokovic. Medvedev is inferior to them on grass and clay, but when it come on hardcourt this three are on the same level so sometimes will win Alcaraz, sometimes Medvedev and sometimes Djokovic and will win most likely the one who will be most consistent in tha tournament... in US open Medvedev and Djokovic were more consistent so they went on final, Alcaraz was a little bit less so he lose to Medvedev, but i don't see that defeat like unexpected or something to worry about.

Medvedev was in the zone, as simple as that.

I wouldn't necessarily say something went wrong. More like he's still growing. He's going to have downs, and what matters is how he learns to deal with them.
Currently, he has yet to reach a level of sustainability, and that's normal for young athletes. That's part of why I was guessing that Djokovic would win the USO. Sustainable and reliable are the two attributes that I would use to describe the components of Djokovic's game.

what happened, he ran into one of the best hard-court tennis players in the world who loves the fast courts of the US Open, it is much faster than the courts of the Australian open....which suites his game to a tee........

he has not honed his character yet, hes so immature to think hes unbeatable, that wishful thinking on his part... he should eat more unlirice and do his homework.. a psychologist should be part of his team to make him realize about his whole personhood otherwise, like many players, he will be like a bubble, gone to soon... denada ALCARAZ...
