Bonnie is not only doing the vocals, she's the one playing the exquisite lead guitar throughout the song.

Bonnie is Ivy league educated (Radcliffe College, now part of Harvard) A degee in African Studies. Bonnie cut her musical teeth with many black blues greats. They took to Bonnie and remain a major influence in her life. Bonnie has created a foundation to help the older artists financially. Bonnie is one of the best slide guitar players on the planet. Truly a legend. Go down this rabbit hole. It's a great journey.

She's played and sung with the legends: Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, A.C. Reed, Sippie Wallace, Buddy Guy, Junior Wells, Ruth Brown, Charles Brown, Keb' Mo' and Joe Louis Walker
B.B. King once called Bonnie Raitt the “best damn slide player working today”

"is she a blues singer?" Well, I'd call her an "everything singer".

Grew up on country and blues. I bought my first Bonnie Raitt album in 1973 and she's been a favorite ever since.

First time I saw her in concert was in 1973 at the Philharmonic in NYC, and 3 times since then. Here in St Louis she followed Chris Issak and was followed by Don Henley. She said it was great to be between two good looking men lol.

Bonnie can perform blues and rock. She won Grammys in 1990 and a few since then. It is worth it to take a deep dive into her catalog. Thanks Shawn and Mel.

There are only about half a dozen people who are on both Rolling Stone's "top 100 vocalists" list and their "top 100 guitarists" list. Bonnie is one of them.

bonnie raitt, mavis staples, and sheryl crow singing 'livewire' on the ellen show is an awesome live performance.

One of her signature songs is Angel from Montgomery by John Prine.

She had some big hits and is still touring. One of my favorite singers. She was one of the few female guitarists that played the slide guitar back in the day. Check out "Nick of Time", "I can't Make you Love me" and "Something to Talk About."

Her first album has some good blues like, 'Mighty Tight Woman', 'Women Be Wise' and one of my favorites 'Since I Fell For You'. Her early stuff is really good.

If you can find it, check out duet with Bonnie and Ray Charles, “Do I Ever Cross Your Mind “. Ray did a duets album with a bunch of great artists. Bonnie Raitt was one of them! 😉😁

Yes, she's a blues singer and a pretty awesome blues guitarist, although she's dipped her toes into blues-tinged rock and pop too.
Bonnie has been singing that amazing song for 50+ years and I swear she does it better every dang year. You wanna see the difference between how a 20-something woman sings that song and the way a weary 40-something woman sings it, check out this live version:

@tarafied7322 YES! This is absolutely my favorite version because of the years of lived experience she can pour into it... so much richer ❤️

I recommend from her first album “Since I Fell For You”. You may have heard Lenny Welch version of this song but hers is wonderful. I have not seen any reactors take on Bonnie’s version. Be the first!
