@@babydaddy4257 No one expects Rogan to challenge policies; rather to ask the question as to 'why' they are implemented the way that they are.
Joe is a lot like Rubin in this, where the process of thinking is more important than the challenge.
A challenge is only useful if it elucidates a line of thinking.

Oh yeah, like Bannon wants to give you good advice Are you stupid? I am sorry for being so blunt but are you actually stupid? USE YOUR HEAD! They know how sensitive you guys are to any criticism of Bernie whom they don't want to take office even more than the "establishment democrats" They use this to make you hate your own, deepen your hatred of centrist and centre left democrats while the centre right is not being gangbanged by both sides. This serves them and you are fools for buying it. You are eating yourselves while they laugh and pretend they care about justice for Bernie and progressive "true democrats". They succeeded in making you feel they are allies.

@@paularroyo3450 I'd ask you all to watch it again, with mute on and just read the captions. Bill Maher is doing a dirty debate trick by introducing subjects in a very unfair light, forcing Steve to defend or explain the actual position he has but whenever Steve starts getting the momentum and unraveling Bills cheap trick, Bill makes a hackish remark to play for the home court before changing the subject. Whether you like Bannon or Maher should be irrelevant if your seeking a fair honest discussion. This is why I hate Real Time, it's a cheap formula designed to make Bill look smarter then he is, and he never has his world view challenged. Whenever someone else has a good honest point to make, he gets to make a cheap shot joke and shift the subject, when they try it, he cries about the double standard. It's funny how in life it's almost always the whiners that are guilty of that which they accuse others.

True in terms of populism and conformity of systems(neo-lib owned dnc/neo-con owned GOP) but the overarching question is trump actually achieving his sated goals? His main economic focus has been a failure, coal mining is half of what it was under obama and the largest coal mining company filed bankruptcy and farmers have lost hundreds of billions, its not that trump caused that but he couldn't fix it because those are legacy economies which are in direct competition with the entire developing world where most of the economy is in blue areas like tech in california. So other than taking credit for the economy he had no part in creating what has he really achieved? Just populist division on issues of immigration, race etc. Nothing thats going offset the displacement of jobs caused by automation which Yang has somewhat addressed. stephen glover I understand that completely but I don’t think that is his play. Steve Bannon does not want a Democrat Government, so he gives them advice they will never follow. Which I know you can say is the same thing, but it’s not. Stick with me. He was able to push Trump through to the Republican nomination because a resentment of establishment had even growing for a very long time. The Tea Party has done much of the ground work for Trump. Not to mention the Democrats had just had a Black man rule the country and were now putting an establishment woman up for the job in 2016. Trump was the populist antidote for all of that. So what should the Democrats do? Put up a package of The Rock and Taylor Swift, with Oprah as the Head of State? Or should we tell America that we’ll have a vote who gets what job?
That’s not a road that the Democrats have seriously walked right now, because it’s absurd. Having a game show host as President, acting like he did on the game show is absurd. He’s not leading, he’a using demagoguery I guess you could call it.
I have no real answers. I get why Bannon exists. I wish there had been no reason why Bannon would have existed in the first place, and it’s an even bigger shame that someone with his knowledge and sense is using it in the way he is.

And while Bannon does hold some extreme views, he's not stupid. But I do admire Maher for not pretending the other side doesn't exist and doesn't have ideas, even if he disagrees with those ideas. I totally agree with Maher about the problem with woke people not so much being what they fight for, but the way they think there's only one true viewpoint and all others are simply bigotry/ignorance/evil that must be deplatformed from all of society. I'm a conservative and I have zero desire to have anyone, even Antifa, deplatformed (except when espousing violence or other illegal acts). Uh........what? All Bannon did was going on one long endless monologue of bullshit talking points that he knows are bullshit. He knows what he is saying is garbage. That's what makes him so cynical and so shameless...

The main thing critics of Trump don't realise, is that his statements were often deliberately entertaining and provocative. His critics think he was being serious when he made off-the-cuff statements about his opponents, when in fact he was simply promoting certain entertaining and provocative nuances. So they were simply words which were not really attached to any real follow-through intent.
So in line with this, his critics are largely naive and simplistic in their assessments. They're like little kids who take everything literally. Trump was simply playing with them, and they couldn't discern this.
