    Just a piece of advice...when pushing something through your table saw ALWAYS push the piece between the blade and the fence and use your riving knife if one came with your saw. Kickback is a real thing and even if it doesnt hit you and can do some serious damage. Ive seen pieces of 2x4 get shot through walls from kickback.

    I absolutely love your energy. You present a feminine, caring, and creative nature w/ eagerness and a thirst to get creative w/ the Cricut Maker. And you're quite beautiful.
    Often, I find myself initiating multiple DIY Projects. And I know that a Cricut Maker would truly create a "store bought w/ high quality" appearance. I contemplated the purchase of a Cricut Maker... I think I'll buy the machine to upscale my DIY Projects. Previously, I had reluctance to purchase the Cricut Maker prior to watching your informative video as I'm very mindful about my spending. Though... I've decided to become a Circuit Maker Owner!
    To reiterate, thank you so much for your informative insight! (And your demeanor is meant for the big screen... you seem like a sweetheart or "girl next door" character).

    My wife and I just picked up a Cricut maker and are excited to explore all it has to offer. Thanks for the informational video! I am a woodworker and I noticed a couple of things you can do at the table to reduce the likelihood of getting a kickback (which is NOT fun). When you are ripping the thin strips, try using your puck stick in between the fence and the blade. This makes it much less likely that the blade will grab the cutoff and kick it back towards you (since the blade rotates towards the user on a table saw. When running the crosscuts, the same risk persists. The most common solution is to set your fence 3/4” further out than you need it and clamp a 3/4” block to the fence at the front end near the locking handle. Then, line the board up against the stop block and push it through with a miter gauge (set to 0). That gives the wood 3/4” of wiggle room so it can’t get pinched. You do great work, just wanting to pass along what I wish someone had told me BEFORE I had to catch a board on the chin.

I am a very young artist who wants to start selling art as a hobby. I've been doing some painting and I also have hand drawn sketches. Is there a way that I can scan the picture/letters and then use it on the cricket? Like say I scan a picture of a phrase that I have drawn. • @AppalachianHomeCo
      @AppalachianHomeCo  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi! I find that the blades do need to be replaced quite often. After about 20 uses mine starts dulling. Then I notch up the pressure to “more” and get a little more use out of it. After that tho I replace. So everyday use I get about a good month out of one blade.👍🏻

    I want a scan and cut but my daughter thinks this is better???
    I want something super simple to do my fussy cutting as I’ve just had a right shoulder replacement. So if I got a paper pad that included a sheet of embellishments I could cut and use them. What do you think???

    • @AppalachianHomeCo
      @AppalachianHomeCo  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hmmm...I haven't used a scan and cut before so I don't know the difference in ease of use. With the Cricut machines you would be placing material on a sticky mat, so some light maneuvering with that part definitely. After that you would need to peel the material off the mat, and then weed it if you are using vinyl. With paper tho, it would be a simple stick to the mat, press go, and peel of the shapes. Hope that helps some!

    • @AppalachianHomeCo
      @AppalachianHomeCo  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! There is really so much you can do with the machine. You can cut any svg and most pngs you can find with it, so it doesn’t have to be Cricut images. If you mean cut around images you have actually stamped on paper you would need to do a few things like scanning in the page and creating a cut border on the stamped images. But it can be done.👍🏻

      Yes you can. The print then cut feature let you print out before you cut, or there is another method you can do to print out a full sheet and cut, it’s more of a test and adjust method, but it saves on sticker paper.👍🏻

      Hi you can use iron on material for that, or screen print the names also. Botyh ways won't wash out.. The machine doesn't print it just cuts, but you can cut names out to place on different materials.

Then weed out the excess vinyl around the design and place transfer tape over the rest of the desig. Your design will then be blocks or shapes of different colors .... if that’s what you mean?

    Hi, is it possible to use the housing that comes with the machine and use the different tips with the same housing or do I have to purchase a new housing in order to use an scoring, engraving or debossing tip. Thanks

    • @AppalachianHomeCo
      @AppalachianHomeCo  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! The fine tip blade, deep cut blade, fabric blade, rotary blade, and knife blade all come separately in their own housing. The scoring wheel, debossing tip, engraving tip, perforation blade and wavy blade all use the QuickSwap housing and can be switched out on one housing if that makes sense! The blade that come with your machine won’t be a QuickSwap. I bought an engraving blade and it came with a QuickSwap so I would only need the other tips for embossing etc.

    Hey Christy. I've been using the Cricut Explore Air 2 for several months. Now I went and bought a Cricut Maker 3. My question is, Do I need to uninstall Design Space, and re-install a fresh DS to comunicate with my new CM3? Or can I just use the DS that I already have installed on my PC? Their website asks you which machine are you going to use before you download, but then most of the machines show up in the dropdown up top anyway..... Seems a little redundant.
    Thanks, Dan.
