My go to hitch for rigging! The tail under the block supports itself which eases the climbers effort. Very secure, never had an issue with it binding or slipping. When I didn’t have enough tail though to complete at least one half hitch I will employ the timber hitch. A running bowline will use the least amount of sling and allow the largest stem diameter but the strength is reduced. Be well Dan!
I'm sorry, I don't know much about ropes and stuff... why does it seem like there is a missing end there? Like am I the only one who is seeing this? Is it an illusion? There are two ropes on the right and one on the left. Sure I had more than 6 beers now, but I can count one and two.
Thank you. [After review still don't get it. Dumb as a stump here. Ya can probably push me down like a dumb cow at the moment.] Anybody want me to lead them on a tree-climb? lul :D ;p
You are absolutely right. The author didn't show how he formed a dead end loop on one side. The correct way to see how to do that knot is in this video. You also can see what is missed in this film. You have a sharp eye and mind. th-cam.com/video/MPhNnjYMic0/w-d-xo.html
Yes the best rigging knot for pulley block and Portawrap. Great vid mate.
Thanks for the video. I've used the Timber hitch for awhile now but this looks quicker to tie, especially on the Ponderosas that we work on a lot.

Cheers Dan hope you are still on the mend
Hmm. Magic. 2 ropes go around the tree and one comes back. Son of a gun. ;-). Good video.

Thank you friend Good abençoe for all
Nice!
Good vid, just hard to see how the half hitches go at the end
Great video thank you for sharing.
where is the other end of the rope?
Attached to the pulley
What type of sling is that?
It's not a whoopie sling is it?
Dead eye sling
What are adventages of Bow hitch over Munter hitch for those purposes?
Would you use this setup to tie in your lifeline ever?
Where's the other tail?🤔
Attached to the block
Always use this for potawrap
🤙
This the one bro

The so called '2 ropes on the right' are a spliced eye that attached the pulley to the rope. See 00:38 freeze frame and you will understand I hope.

“Cow hitch with a better half”
Everything beautifully shown apart from how you tied your half hitches. Kinda the most important part missing
It's not missing, you can clearly see how he ties them
way to put the annotations in the way
I heard very good opinions about the Woodglut plans.
👌👍
