- The championship round of the 2023 PBA Collegiate Championship arrived in style as Wichita State and Mount Mercy square off in the Women's Final. In a hard-fought matchup, Wichita State was able to pull away in both games to win the Women's championship. In the Men's championship, Indiana Tech prevented Wichita State from winning both the mens and women's championship round as Indiana Tech won both rounds in style.

That is a ROUGH ending to a collegiate career. Feel bad for him, but lesson of the story is to use a spareball. 100% woulda made it with the same exact throw. Even with the high speed and lower revs of his spare shot, it would have been just enough to at least graze the 10 pin. As a two-hander, I have no option but to use a plastic ball for spares, but still a good idea for 1-handers.
His career has been fantastic, so that definitely was not the end. Back to back Champs recently and national champs! 4 of them finished well at the pba players championship in Wichita last week, including a 3rd place finish from Ryan Barnes. They are on fire, and the college team is the best it's ever been!
Feel so bad for rock man, absolutely tragic way to lose wouldn't be shocked if he buys a plastic after that

Yup lol, girls college bowling is so stupid. They don't let these girls develop their own styles. All drills drills drills and the same form literally every other college female bowler has. You're not gonna see any girls compete with the boys on the real pro tour unless they have broken free from the college nonsense or throw two-handed. Them's the facts.

One of the worst trends in collegiate bowling right now are coaches pushing their athletes not to use spare balls. Just causes too many unnecessary problems, even all but a few of the tour players use spares balls.
The difference in a plastic ball and a reactive when it comes to spares is nothing. If you can flatten your wrist and throw it hard and straight you will make spares regardless of what ball is in your hand.

@@coachl7771 Yep, only really necessary for 2 handers. The 6 ball limit really makes it so the extra slot is important, especially with the prevalence of urethane these days.

Straighter shots up the middle read higher (actually more accurate). A guy throwing a big hook from way inside might only read 19 but was really going 21-22
@wingracer 16 makes sense.. if they throwing 18 I must be throwing 22+ on a dry house shot I throw 17mph and it's fast asf sports shot im around 19-20
@@ballistic350 Also, I'm sure you already know this but just in case you don't, the biggest difference between the men and women isn't velocity, it's rev rate. The highest rev rate from these women wouldn't even be average on the men's tour. The best of them might able to match some of the seniors but not many.

Carolyn was impressed how calm everyone looked as opposed to when she bowled and was vibrating with anxiety and nerves.
These college bowling events seem stupid. Why have a five man team all bowl on the same game? They should do it where all five play one game and add there totals up. Or do like tennis and have them compete 1v1 against the opposing team best of three games and whichever team wins the most matches win.
It's college team bowling. Even in High School there are teams of 5 bowling one game. The PBA Tour / Regional Tournaments are meant for singles games
