      @@Barbarossamodels a really good diorama. I agree with Guy Gadois regarding the uniforms and wonder how they can be made to look more like material.
      By the way, like most boys I made Airfix kits when I was aged 14 but none since then until now. At the age of 68 I have just completed a T-34 with weathering and will enjoy putting together my first ever diorama. Thank you for the inspiration. My motto - 'it's never too late' :-)

    • @Barbarossamodels
      @Barbarossamodels  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cheers Philip, it’s not a point that’s normally made too often, I use Vallejo paints like most for the figures & the finish is generally ok, but I may try finishing with a matt varnish next time....just to see if there’s a notable difference....?
      Great stuff you’ve rediscovered the hobby, good luck with your T34 dio - hopefully I’ll still be building by the time I get to your age!! No idea by then where I’ll be storing all the dioramas though .....probably be filling up the kitchen & bathroom......😆😳⛔️

      @@Barbarossamodels Hi again. Have you considered using artists acrylics. I paint and use high end acrylic paints, but as expensive as they are, they are a lot less costly than the ones produced by Tamiya, Vallejo etc. In fact, I bought a set of really low cost acrylic artists paints and for 18 36ml tubes was less than just 2 of the Tamiya small glass jars. They have worked really well, and of course you can mix your own colours. The cheaper artists acrylics tend to flow better than the more expensive ones - add water for using in the airbrush. :-)
      p.s. I finished the T-34. Am really please with the result :-)

    • @Barbarossamodels
      @Barbarossamodels  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks again for the tip Philip, I’ve known people who do use artist acrylic paints, problem is I’ve built up a half decent Vallejo collection now, & am happy with them generally....😕 Considering going back to oils for faces though for a change, appreciate your feedback, well done on the T-34 & good luck with the forth coming dio. Cheers 🙂👍

      Fair point Andrea..., the tank however was built about 10 years ago, 2nd time repainted, and obviously to open up any hatches now would be difficult without damage...., not to mention having nothing in the interior. If it was a new build no doubt I would've. Thanks for the feedback 🙂👍

    You do Very nice work and great detail. I do think there is too much weathering on the tank, it looks more like one that had been knocked out and left on the battlefield 10 years after the war was over rather than one still in operation in 1943.

    • @Barbarossamodels
      @Barbarossamodels  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi.... thanks for commenting. Not had a lot of practice with armour modelling, and they’re are much better & more subtle white washed vehicles around online, but to be honest was pretty happy with how it turned out really..... Didn’t think it was too OTT, just tried to keep most of the wear around busier areas like hatches & horizontal surfaces. But I take your point though, as most things always room for improvement. Appreciate the feedback 🙂👍

      Don't take me wrongly, your technique is Excellent and thoroughly Realistic, movie Special Effects Grade. It's just that I think the German Tank Crew and their Commander would never let their machines get that far gone without some paint touchup and the rust could never have advanced that far even if the tank survived 5 years of the war.

    Why the fuck does everyone think that the only way to make tanks look real is to add loads of rust. Considering when the Tigers were released and how long they were active there was stuff all rust. Yet every other modeler adds rust like a full body paint job. How long do you think the war went for?!

    The figures look like a bit overscaled than 1/35 scale.

      Stalingrad figures I find (Russian prisoner & children) do tend to be smaller than their Miniart/Dragon etc.... counterparts in general. Then some of the Verlinden figs were larger still, the problem with mixing manufacturers I guess. But they are all marketed 1:35 scale.
