it makes no difference where you put the magnet... you get one pulse per revolution wherever you put it. put it near the hub and it rotates slower then if you put it near the rim BUT... it still passes the magnet one time for the circumference of the tyre... think about it... Durrr
With the cateye velo 9, Is there enough length in the wire to install on the back wheel (26" Mtb)? Would like to install on a back wheel for use with my magnetic trainer.

No problems with water. It is water proof.
