With pure dex you also get crazy cold scaling despite low int, and when you cold infuse a weapon you get a crazy high number compared to bleed even if your int is low. If you start the fight with cold and change to lightning as soon as you see them frost, it's immediate death. So funny because they are thinking frost and not putting on lightning tali to resist you.
@@Xbigxhatxloganx Cold lowers the phys scaling a bit but adds magic damage and frost build up, because it's split damage if your AR is similar then your actual damage output will be slightly lower though honestly it's generally pretty negligible in the vast majority of cases. Iirc the frost buildup is based on weapon type and upgrade level rather than scaling as well so even with a slight drop in actual damage the frost+lowered defenses generally more than makes up for it especially on weapons with combos or multi-hit AoW's like Stormcaller

Would be interesting to see a Arc/Faith build: 30 Faith and 45 Arc is pretty easy to do with Prophet not to mention it looks like we're prolly going to be getting more Crucible incants and other stuff so you might as well have a Faith character set up.
3:38 Funny how a group so gung-ho about ranged pew pews ends up dying from trying to spam R1 in melee. Weapon request: Golden Epitaph. This thing's buff is unique in that it adds holy damage even if you switch it out, including bare fists. Since it's an aura buff, it stacks with weapon buffs, so I was thinking to combo with claws with holy grease and Endure, a sword with Sacred Blade, or something like the Ornamentals.
I’m ds3 my build was a piromancer with the fire blade on left hand for casting fire spells and light attack and with the right hand the fire whip of the witch , it’s was fun to hold with two hands one or the another one
I don't see how the buffs are meaningfully different for lightning vs. physical. on a physical build you still have basically the same situation. the only difference is that there's no crystal tear that buffs physical damage directly. and obviously if there were it'd be the best crystal tear hands down. but the lightning crystal tear is gonna stack equally well with the exalted flesh. think about it, your weapon has split damage. the lightning component is actually usually smaller than the physical component. so the lightning crystal tear is only increasing half of your weapon damage. and likewise, the exalted flesh is only increasing half of your weapon damage. so the boost you get from either of them is not as great as the boost you'd get from exalted flesh on pure physical. but it's still high enough that, with the two buffs combined, you're doing significantly more damage than a pure physical weapon with just exalted flesh. it's the same reason you're still using uplifting aromatic here, even though it also only increases physical damage, just like exalted flesh. so you just have to choose whether you prefer the extra ~8% buff from the exalted flesh, or the extra 20% negation from the boiled crab. that decision might be more straightforward on a physical build, since you get the full 15% damage buff from exalted flesh on a physical build, as all your damage is physical (or at least most of it, since you probably have some non-physical ash of wars). but even so, I think 8% damage is usually better than 20% negation. damage calculation doesn't have an asymptotic soft cap the way negation does, i.e. negation strongly tapers off between 40 and 60, so 20% negation may translate to as little as 4% damage reduction, whereas an 8% dmg buff is pretty close to 8% extra damage. but yeah, the only question there is what's more important to you, damage negation or extra damage? because exalted flesh is still strong on lightning builds. and ultimately you're arranging your build in the same way: - you have a crystal tear buff slot, which is an auto-include as you're always going to pick the crimson bubbletear, the damage buff tear if one exists for your build, and the damage negation tear if not. - then you have the aura buff slot, and there's basically no reason to use anything but the uplifting aromatic for this as for some asinine reason, fromsoft decided to nerf all the other aura buffs into the ground except for uplifting aromatic. so it gives the same damage buff as golden vow, an incantation that requires a seal, 25 faith, and costs more than double the FP. the only theoretical reason to use the other aura buffs is if you're a pure caster, as the aromatic only buffs physical damage. but the buffs are so tiny that it's not even worth the FP. whereas the 7.5% you get from uplifting aromatic will only apply to your physical damage, it's still a significant buff well worth the XP. plus you get the shield. so that choice is just extremely obvious, I'd also call it an auto-include, there's no reason to use anything other than uplifting aromatic. - then you have the body buff slot. since the first two were basically auto-includes, a lightning build isn't freed up to do much else with this slot. if you want extra damage you'll use exalted flesh, and if you want defense you'll use boiled crab or dried liver. and you'll use one of the incantations instead if you can. IMO the extra damage is still usually best on a lightning build, except perhaps if you're a light armor build that's nowhere near the damage negation softcap. maybe crab makes extra sense for the builds you've been working on lately, as you've been testing out light roll or at least including it as an option to switch to in sticky situations.
also with all this stuff, you're not increasing your lightning damage twice, since the aromatic only increases physical damage. the item description is vague, but I'm pretty confident it only increases physical damage. so the only lightning damage buff you're getting on this build is from the crystal tear. and as far as I know, the only way to increase it further, besides talismans, is with howl of shabriri (quite a massive buff), or with a marginal buff like the 2.5% golden vow/shared order, or with the jellyfish shield. but those all apply to physical builds too, so they aren't granting any real advantage to lightning builds. you're not gonna use howl of shabriri on a lightning build, you won't want to use golden vow/shared order, and the jellyfish shield is not great for melee characters since you miss out on 2-handing. if anything, it's the faith and magic builds that get the highest damage buff potential, since they'll already have the FTH necessary to use howl of shabriri, or I guess the INT necessary to use terra magica (which amazingly does affect weapon damage, by an enormous amount too). howl of shabriri seems much better to me though, it lasts a bit longer and it doesn't force you to stand in one tiny spot.
Try dual wielding Nagakibas, Chilling Mist on the left, swapping between Flaming Strike/Lightning Strike on the right. Looks sick, and they both combo nicely, flaming to reset the frostbite, lightning for the damage, and you can have other swaps ready as well, something like a Spinning slash/Sword Dance, or Hand of Malenia.
I kinda want chase to do a 10 vig runthrough of the game, he always sees squishies in endgame areas and seeing him struggle* to do the same would be sweet. *not that I think he'd actually struggle, mind
