You can see in that mini flashback that all that pressure was weighing Clive down. He worked very hard to become a shield and prove his worth to everyone, but this scene shows us that he too had moments when he just wanted to forget all of his burdens, even if it was for a short while. And seeing Torgal being there for him in those tough times is really heartwarming.
This is my favorite side quest in the game. Torgal is the real mvp of FF16 and this quest and the ending cutscene with him and Jill looking at the moon really got me in the feels.
I held it together until I saw Torgal and Jill realize the reality of the situation. Then I lost it. lol

Its great that the devs understood a dogs mannerisms in terms of looking where he wants to go (west). My husky does similar. He looks at me, then looks at where he wants. It's often subtle, but it's their way of communicating and you have to pay close attention.

besides this, I cried the most when Torgal is looking up the window worryingly waiting and hoping for Clive to come back...
Yep I held it together right up until I saw Torgal looking at the moon and then absolutely lost it. Just beat this game last night. Still feel hollow today. lol

This hit me hard because I've had dogs and cats, and they know when a close one dies. They feel it.
That Torgal reaction was so authentic.

This one caught me off guard and got me real emotional. What a good boy to go collect Clive's training sword all those pieces of armor from the people he loved. Just beat this game last night and that ending wrecked me. I still feel hollow today. lol
If you played all the side quest the ending is really open ended. Some of those side quests imply Clive became a writer and took up another Alias again as he’s done in the past and wrote out the entire story of the game with events only he was there to see.
Depending on how much you’ve completed of the game really determines how sad it is. Goes from really sad to sad to hopeful lol.
@@kite36 Oh man I never thought about it that way and I like that a lot. I was one who really believe Clive was gone but after a few different things pointed out, now I'm not sure and kind of want a DLC to clear that up. And to finally show us Leviathan.
Torgal is really an awesome character if ever there was one. The ravage combo is ceazy
Wished he wasnt assigned in the directional buttons and was an input command instead. Same with the skills in the game

Was I the only one who thought their reunion after 13 years left something to be desired? Clive strangely didn't even seem happy or surprised to see Torgal again.
You would think he would be overjoyed seeing Torgal again given how much he has been through. He was pretty much sold as a slave by his mother. His mother (biologically, let's not talk about how she acts) is now acting empress (which she got when she betrayed her own kingdom and cousin). He was also seeking the killer of his brother for several years (13? 15?) while in the army.
The whole game kinda left something to be desired for me tbh
TBH; their reunion was the worst; which is really sad cause everything else was great.
@@cygnusereve4779he was happy to see Torgal, he just wasn't too expressive at the beginning of the story, for obvious reasons.
Clive was pretty much a broken man at the start of the story, if you think about it he spent a couple of months with Torgal tops too.
Plus, at the moment they met up Clive probably was more worried about Jill than anything else, he had some rough 12 years and it's probably just too much to process.
I gave my puppy sooooo much love during this scene

I did this sidequest last, because Torgal was the closest friend of Clive.
I didn't regret it and cried.
This should have been part of the main story imo.
Same goes for the rest of the character quests and getting Ambrosia
@@sLasHeRxXx07 agreed about the Ambrosia side quest! speeds up some of the travelling around especially in the desert areas and ash
Side quests are always about world building. Skip them and rush through at your own detriment.
Right but if you just played the game and didn’t worry about things such as whether or not something is a side quests or party of the main quest then it wouldn’t matter, just info you gained while playing the game(which in most jrpgs especially FF the side quests are where you get all the real lore at, some games the side quest really is the true finale of the game. The side quest in this game changes the entire perspective on the ending)
i didn’t think there was enough Torgal love in the main story. like he’s always there, and he might do a cool thing once in a while, but it’s not talked about enough how he’s ALWAYS there for Clive.
I cried like ugly cried such a beautiful quest.

Yeah I wonder what the increase in demand for the breed will be. I hope no one gets one thinking it is a walk in the park to own a large dog. The upfront cost pales in comparison with the continual cost to own, especially with some of the health conditions the breed is known to have.
That and huskies are incredibly fucking LOUD. 😂

They are also very high energy dogs and *need* room to run. Don't have room, good luck keeping your furniture from being chewed to bits. A high energy dog without proper outlets is a highly destructive dog. It's a huge responsibility to own a working class dog like a husky, an Australian cattle dog, or various other high energy breeds.
And people say the side quests in this game are bad and boring.
They are. All the good ones are right before the last main quest. The rest are pretty unrewarding and largely busy work.
The last few side quests are top notch though and the hunts are fun.
Best side quest in the game, made me cry hella tears
y'all complaining about it being a side quest... If you listened to the talks leading up to release you'd know every single one ties back to the story, and end just as good as a main story beat... sometimes its just as heartbreaking.... instead of bum rushing the main story beats, take care of the sides too and take your time, the game leaves nothing hanging if you do everything in each chapter (you get like 3-6 sides with each main story beat dealt with) and it won't be too bothersome either.
I hope we can have the option to turn down or disable the pink sky effect later in the game. It really destroys the beauty of Valisthea and some scenes at key storylines.
What? That’s the whole point. Otherwise the ending of Clive finally staring at the starry night wouldn’t be as impactful.
@@sanghelio i never noticed the night sky being pinkish or something but storywise was it the case?
@@rolm7813 there was a fog over the sky 24/7 that blocked everything from view. It made the sunlight looking pinkish and at night it made it look grey and cloudy so you couldn’t see the stars or moon.

Shadow, Blanca, Interceptor, Huey, Brown, Kogoro, Daigoro, the dog from RE4 and now Torgal. The best dogs in video game history.

Well, if the game is successful, there might be a dlc. And when there's dlc, new eikons. New Eikons, maybe we can get leviathian and fenrir
technically fenrir *is not* an eikon, but he could be.
Actually torgal is fenrir and who served the queen of ice and that is shiva. Gav was asking Clive where did they found torgal and found a theory of it

humm .... i suspect torgal inhearited ramuh from cid but couldn't unleash the power till his body had acclimated to it and the triger for it actervating happened which was also when shiva's host and one of torgal's besties was in grave danger.... truely best doggo without a doubt

How do you get this sidequest? Im in end game and havent come across it.
Pretty sure this is the 3rd (i think) part of a multiple part sidequest that happens throughout the game. One of my favorites that caught me off guard and made me so glad I did every side quest in the game.
these are from chained quests that open up just before you fight Ultima. If you skipped quests like the one where you fetch some bone for Torgal then thats your loss lol

I lost my “little Brother” (my dog) July 4th and this quest really got to me, nicely done 🥲 big fan of a main character having a animal companion 🤘
I call mine the same man, been nearly two years now in my case.. The flashbacks with Torgal still being a pup really reminded me of him. You're a good person for sticking close to the people that mattered the most to you in life. Even if they are no longer with us right now. 🕯
I am glad that in all the history of games, there has never been a real wolf in any of them. Wolves don't bark. The moment any of these 'supposed' wolves bark, it's game over. It is a pet peeve of mine because its so laughable by this point.
Take note that they are often fantasy wolves living in fantasy worlds. So they can bark. They can fly, change into magic beings, carry giant swords etc. They are not the same as real wolves.

Joshua whines and criticizes Clive? When? There was one moment about Jill, but that was it. I don't know how you perceived that.
@@NeutralGloomBot There's like 5 times when he complains "we're in this together you don't have to fight alone", when Clive is already accepting help, and he keeps saying it for pretty much the entire game. He punches him for no reason, then ironically leaves Clive to fight Odin alone lol. Also avoids and goads him for years letting him believe he's dead, has an entire secret organisation and doesn't send them to help or rescue him from servitude. He does like 1 or 2 good things, but 90% of the time he's annoying and a terrible brother.
